Is there a better punishment for Barbosa when he brutally assaulted the World Heavyweight Champion than being rewarded a shot at the World title at Redemption against his love interest, Celeste Crimson? We're certainly baffled and so to is the World champion but it seems his opinions won't matter as they won't be wrestling the match; his Queen will be but there is certainly a catch twenty-two for the submission specialist. Should Celeste win, she successfully keeps the unstable knight at bay but that means she could potentially be the next in line for the championship, her "boyfriend's" title. Considering Celeste has never held a title and would love to be the first female to hold gold, this could certainly cause a dilemma but which will she choose? Self-sacrifice or self-indulgence?​

Number one contender match and I think Celeste has more to lose quite honestly. The position of power she's currently in means that to lose would just make her the girl with Holmes. Barbosa loses & he still has level footing. That being said, these two aren't to exactly give in easy, are they? This will be one hell of a fight, with the two going all out for it. Eventually, I see Celeste managing to beat Barbosa, she just has to hope she isn't facing Steven.

Prediction - Celeste Crimson wins, becomes #1 Contender.

Barbosa is consistently good and is a tough opponent to face off against. If you're not prepared, he'll tear you to shreds and honestly, every time I've gone up against Barbosa, he made me go the extra mile to try and beat him even if it was just a regular T.V. match. I know Celeste can go that extra mile but it depends on what Ech brings to the table. Sometimes his ideas are great and other times, its a miss... but then again, Barbosa has those same miss moments too. It's a tough call here.

Pretty cool match up IMO. Celeste winning would just add such an interesting wrinkle to the Main Event later in the night, that it has me rooting for Ech. I think Barbs will take it, but Celeste vs either of the 3 men in the Main Event could lead to some interesting storylines in the next cycle.

Something tells me Barbosa is planning something special for Kingdom Come.

Something tells me that Barbosa is goin to try to give something hay, no matter what, Celeste is going to be screwed, in terms of wrestling him. And this is coming from a Celeste fan; I think right now, she is the #1 contender for whoever wins the belt, especially if Callahan or Holmes wins. It's her spot to lose.

Or, it's Barbosa's spot to cinch, and I have a feeling that may happen.

When Celeste is on her game she is tough to beat. Problem is you never know which Celeste will show up. I think Barbosa is much more consistent and will take this one.

A rather peculiar match up here if I am honest. I would agree with some of the comments that both Barbosa and Celeste being one step from a world title match at Redemption came out of the blue - the former because he was immersed in the tag team division and a storyline with Constantine and his "Villain of the Week" crew (another instance of stories needing to be changed due to unforeseen circumstances - surely... SURELY Barbosa's date at KC would have been a comedy-laden bloodbath with Hunter Kravinoff?); the latter not being anywhere near the top level until a long-needed heel turn.

As for a winner, purely in terms of story, I do not think it really matters all that much for either of us. Celeste will be still involved at the top table for no matter if Holmes loses the title at KC, he will still be in contention, whilst Barbosa has plenty of directions to go due to his continuing storyline/association with SHIT. Because of that, not winning would not be the end of the world for either.

Would I like to win? Of course. Getting Barbosa back in the main event is nothing to look down my nose at. Will I win? It really depends almost solely on Ech. I will continue to do what I have been doing since this time last year - telling the story of Barbosa/SHIT - and if Ech can beat it then I will not be all that disappointed as I will have written what I wanted to rather than maybe what I needed to.

Miko would tell me that that is potentially throwing away a victory for the sake of the story, but we are not talking so...

I've got a story to tell as well. If we both have killers RP's it'll come down to which drama creative like more, Celeste's "As the World Title Turns" or Barbosa's "Mental Hospital."

Actually, an obvious lack of run ins for either party could be the real story.

That actually makes sense, Holmes refusing to help out for lack of wanting Celeste in the title picture and SHIT and Barbosa not on speaking terms is much more interesting then anything else.

Barbosa has always been a favorite of mine and based on the RP he came up with last round he seems to be even better than ever. I'd probably take a top notch Barbosa RP over anyone else in the fed.

So now that both posters have posted, I'm going to make an earnest effort to discern a winner. And this is the first one, so....


Um... Do I have to?

I have no idea who I'd pick before the RPs were posted, and now that they're posted, I have even less of a clue. Something about Celeste's overarching theme really stood out to me, but I think Barbosa's matched hers for storytelling, if you've been following Barbosa all cycle. At the end of the day, there's no bad choice here.

I think I've settled on Celeste though. This is on the possibility of what could be a Celeste-Holmes match, though while early in the relationship, would be intense. It would be just as intense though, with anyone that takes the belt off of Holmes, be it Showtime or Drake. Can I say the same for a Showtime-Barbosa match? Maybe, but I think I have to side with Celeste.

It's really close though, and it wouldn't shock me to see Barbosa win. It would make me stoked to see him win. Again, there's no loser here, for us.
