Kingdom Come III - Sam Smith vs. Mr. Baller

We have two superstars who have been at each other's necks for the past while as Sam Smith and Mr. Baller will come full circle with a title shot at the EurAsian or Elite X Title at stake. If anything is to go by their previous matches, they will stop at nothing to get a victory. Who will shine and walk out with the title shot they desire greatly?

[The Crock]

It is a warm and sunny Spring day. We are right outside of Washington D.C. on a secluded and peaceful walking path, tucked away amongst tall Sycamore trees. The city can barely be seen down below in the distance. A small creek is trickling downward around the bends of the hills. A single man stands alone at the top of one of the high hills. The man is none other than WZCW Superstar, Sam Smith. He bellows down toward the camera man.

Smith: It’s a beautiful day!

Smith’s voice echoes around for a moment, only to be met by the loud shrill call of a bird off in the distance.

Smith: Just yesterday the rain was pouring all over the city. Water was leaking into basements, roads were closed, total chaos. But now? Well, it is one of the most tranquil days I’ve ever seen.

Smith chuckles a bit.

Smith: Funny how that works, isn’t it? What’s more, is that this time tomorrow, we will bear witness to one of the strongest storms to hit the east coast in years… It makes this day even more special.

This day, this one VERY special day, is the calm before the storm. Mother Nature is giving the people an opportunity to prepare, as she will brutalize them tomorrow with gale-force winds, golf ball-sized hail, and freezing temperatures.

Smith runs his hand through his hair.

Smith: People are bracing for the storm, they are preparing for anything.

These next few days are pivotal for me. They are the calm before my own personal storm, Kingdom Come. I, much like the people all across the east coast, have been feverishly preparing for my respective “storm.”

Smith rubs his hands together for a moment.

Smith: At Kingdom Come III, I get the opportunity to face Mr. Baller. This will be our 3rd match in only a few weeks. The first time, I came out on top. The second time, we were both counted out, but Baller being the coward that he is, attacked me with a steel chair from behind.

Let’s take a look.

Smith pulls out his smartphone and brings up the video.

Chuck Myles heads to the back as Smith is happy with the opportunity he’s received, only to be cut short as Baller is back in the ring and swing a steel chair hard into his back, taking him down to his knees before taking a swing at his face, knocking him out. Baller gets in Smith’s face

Baller: You, and that title shot, are mine!

He slams Smith’s head to the mat before getting up and posing to the crowd who boo him before he heads out of the ring and up the ramp, further giving trash talk to Smith before making behind the curtain.

Smith: How foolish of him. In an effort to make me weaker, he only made me angrier. On top of that, I already have the added motivation of this match being a Number One Contenders match for either the Elite X Championship, or the Eurasian Championship. I will go into Kingdom Come and I WILL be unstoppable.

Smith looks off into the distance for a moment.

Smith: Baller, I will meet every underhanded tactic you use with brutality of my own. There are no limits to the punishment I will dish out to you at Kingdom Come. You brought this upon yourself and now you must pay the price. If you’re not man enough to stand toe to toe with me, then there is no reason I should respect you.

Every opponent I’ve ever faced, I’ve respected. You know why? Because they deserve it, Baller, but you don’t. You use your cowardice to mask your fear. That is your biggest mistake. Gandhi once said, “Fear has its use but cowardice has none.” I hope you realize that some day.

At least if you would show your fear, you would be able to feed off of that, but instead you suppress it. It’s a weakness and I plan on exploiting it. Simple as that.

Smith takes a deep breath, he looks around for a moment.

Smith: But now, let me take a moment out to talk about how much being on the Kingdom Come card means to me. I worked for years and the ultimate goal was always WZCW! I’ve done it! I’m on the biggest show in the history of professional wrestling. I, Sam Smith, have the chance to win at Kingdom Come. A few weeks ago, I wasn’t too sure if I would be here after all. Things just didn’t seem to be going my way, but now… I couldn’t be more excited. I couldn’t be more confident.

A huge smile comes across the face of Sam Smith.

Smith: This being my first Kingdom Come and all, I want to impress. So, if I win, I’m dedicating my win to the fans. To the people who helped get me here. I felt like I was alone in my goals as a wrestler, but whenever I looked out and saw all those loyal screaming fans, I knew it was okay. I knew that at the end of the day, If the fans left happy, I had done my job correctly. So after Kingdom Come, I hope you guys all leave happy… and I hope I can continue to provide entertainment for you for many more years to come.

Smith puts his hands up over his head.

Smith: Ladies and gentleman, the boyhood dream has become a reality. It’s time for Sam Smith, to become Mr. Kingdom Come.

 

[Baller]

The following is the Kingdom Come III Diary of Mr. Baller on April 2, 2011, the day of Kingdom Come III. This is exclusively taken for an article on WZCW.com, as WZCW.com goes in detail on the day of Kingdom Come for Mr. Baller

In 9 hours, Mr. Baller will be taking on Sam Smith in an epic encounter. The two will square off for the third time over the past couple of weeks, and this time the stakes have been raised. The winner of this battle will become the number one contender for the Elite X or Eurasian Championship.

11:00 A.M.: The Walk

9 hours away from the beginning of the biggest match of one of the most veteran wrestlers in WZCW, Mr. Baller goes for a long walk as he does on every match day. Baller roaming the streets of New York City, is in awe of how beautiful the city is. As he continues to walk around he sees poster of various Kingdom Come matches including Blade vs Beckford and Phoenix vs Winters vs Bomb.

“Next year this will be me on one of these posters. My time is tonight, and I will be defending one of these belts next year”, says the confident Baller.

Baller takes his walk a lot slower and longer then normal, as he says his average walk averages 30 minutes, however, this walk took over an hour. This manifests the importance of this match and Baller clearly is getting excited for tonight.

1:30 P.M.: The Final Meal

As we are now 6 and a half hours away, Baller and his assistant James head out to lunch at a small cafe. Baller orders his usual chicken sandwich, however, this time Baller did not even complete half his sandwich. Even for such a confident superstar, Baller has the nerves that he has never experienced before. James forces Baller to take back to the hotel some fruit, as he needs to eat before his big match tonight.

2:15 P.M.: Back to the Old Habits

James sees Baller’s nerves getting the best of him, so in order to get Baller to loosen up, he forces Baller to head to the hotel’s basketball court for a game of 1 on 1. As the two play on in an intense battle from the two former University of Miami stars, it is a 10-9 game with James having the lead. In a game up to 11, Baller was still as confident as ever despite struggling with his jump shot for most of the game.

“I let you stay in for far too long. The game is over right here”, Baller confidently remarked.

And as James who kept his mouth shut checked the ball with Baller, Baller took one dribble and shot a 2 pointer, from the top of the key, and it was nothing but net. As soon as the shot when in, Baller kept his hand in the air, and he had his swagger back. He got the nerves out of his stomach. That beautiful shot could be a symbol for the success that Mr. Baller can have tonight.

4:55 P.M.: The Arrival

As Kingdom Come is now rapidly approaching, and Kingdom Come is nearly 3 hours away from going on air, Baller and James arrive at Madison Square Garden, home to Kingdom Come III.

Baller has his ipod tuned in, and has the lines of fans who are waiting outside the arena, looking for autographs, and to meet some of their idols greet Baller with a loud cheer of boos. Baller however, is taking in the moment, and calmly puts his hands near his waist and signals that he will be champion soon, and then puts a smirk on his face as he walks past the die hard WZCW fans.

5:30 P.M.: The walk through the Garden

Baller gets inside the arena at 5:15 and after all the greetings to the WZCW Officials and Management, Baller puts his stuff down in his locker room, and then walks through the historic Madison Square Garden. He heads to the trophy cases of the New York Knicks, and sees not only the Larry O’Brian Trophies, but all of the rings given to the NBA Champions. He looks up only to see a picture of one of his favorite basketball players of all time Walt Frazier raising the trophy up, and Baller emulates the pose, by lifting up his basketball. Baller knows tonight is going to be his night.

6:30 P.M.: Game Over

With 90 minutes left, and the clock is still ticking, Baller knows his match is second on the card and will be on relatively early, approximately 8:20 P.M. Baller asks us to leave as he gets mentally prepared for his epic encounter.

It’s time for Baller to be ballin, and that time for him is now.

The camera fades into Baller’s locker room as he prepares for Kingdom Come. Just like last year at Kingdom Come, Baller has a mirror sitting in front of him, as Baller holds his basketball in hand.

Baller: Last year, at this very event, however at Wembley Stadium in London, England, I sat right in front of the mirror. I proclaimed that tonight was my night to be the next Mayhem Champion. I came within mere seconds of overcoming the odds and winning a 6 man scramble match, where I was the champion for the longest time in that match. I thought I had it in the bag, however, I lost. I was blind, I was blind to the fact that everybody wants to make it to Kingdom Come. As much talent as I have, it also takes the will and the desire to win in this business. There comes a time, when I had to mature over this past year, and not only rely on my athletic abilities, but also my brains. When I entered WZCW I threw that in the trash, because I didn’t think it was needed to succeed. There is no denying how much more skilled I am in comparison to Sam Smith. However, his heart and his strength got him here, and it will also get him out of here.


Baller drops the ball for a moment and clasps his hands together.

Baller: You see Sam, while your heart and your desire got you here, let’s just remember what happened last week. As I recall I had that match in the bag, it was a home run. You had nothing left in the tank, you were not going to make it into that ring, so you latched onto my leg for dear life. All just to accomplish your dream of making it to Kingdom Come. Well let me be the first to congratulate you Sammy, you made it all the way! Unfortunately you also made it to the worst night of your life.

Baller cockily smirks as he stands up and puts one foot on his basketball.

Baller: This is where the superstars come up in the clutch, and while last year I was not clutch. I blew my opportunity, but it is a new year, I got a new head, but I got the same skills. They always say braun over brains, but what happens when you have both? I’ll tell you what it means Sammy, and your probably not going to like it.

Baller heads to the closet and pulls out a bag. He opens the bag and pulls out a replica of the Eurasian and Elite X Championship Belts.


Baller: This is my future. I see it in my tunnel. My tunnel of my career. This is only the next step in my book. We are only at the very beginning of the Baller Book of Ballin, and Sam you are nothing but another chapter. Nothing but another page. Nothing but another word. Nothing but a another person to go on the list of people who doubted me, and called me a jobber. And tonight at Kingdom Come, I will prove all of those doubters wrong, when you will be jobbing to me.

Baller raises the two title belts up in the air.

Baller: After I’m done with you, it is on to the next chapter of my career. So Blade, Beckford, Winters, Phoenix, or Bomb, two of you will be crowned champions tonight. However, one of you will not hold that belt for long. You might not even hold your belt one night as I might cash in my title shot tonight at Kingdom Come, so just be on the lookout once I am done with Sammy.

Baller then puts the belts down and picks up his basketball once again.

Baller: Sammy I know you want to win this match and get a title shot as bad as monkeys wants bananas, but it just isn’t in the cards. Because all I see in your future is.....

Baller pegs the basketball into the mirror shattering it into pieces and landing on the two title belts.

Baller: Broken dreams. And you better believe that and it’s case closed!
