Kingdom Come Discussion: Mikey Stormrage (c) vs Justin Cooper [Heavyweight Title]

FlexAmerican Dynamite

WZCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION
One man, broken after a lost love, defends the one thing that seems to be keeping him going. The other is aiming to cement himself with the elitest of WZCW wrestlers. Having won the Lethal Lottery Justin Cooper takes on Mikey Stormrage, for the first time ever, in a match for the ages.

I think the build for this has been great. We've put a lot of time and effort into planning each stage of this and I think it has turned out better than we expected. Cooper went through the entire roster to win Lethal Lottery in a major upset. Following that he beat Garth Black, the former World Champion, and Eve Taylor, the favourite for Lethal Lottery, back to back. Cooper has shown that he should be in this position with those two wins following Lethal Lottery, reinforcing it wasn't just a lucky fluke.

I've waited six years for a chance to win the title and it'll take the best Yaz has to offer to stop me getting it. I want this win more than I wanted to win the Lottery. Currently Cooper is the only LL winner to not hold the World Championship and I want to change that. Cooper has gone through the very best since his return. With a 4-1 record on PPV this season against top level competition I'm ready make it 5-1 and claim the title that a year ago was just a distant dream for me.

Stormrage is great but the sudden change in Eve leaving may hurt him. So much time was put into that dynamic and it was such a main part of the Stormrage championship arch. Now what is left? Where does he go? The change of course may send Stormrage off in a direction where he doesn't have material built up to combat the RP for Cooper which has an injury angle which was highlighted on the SuperShow, the Keaton element (which last round allowed me to show how well I can write Keaton), Cooper being on the big stage for the first time (World Title Match specifically) and how all of it comes together to impact Cooper. Stormrage is going to have a lot to go against and the sudden removal of Eve and sharp turn in the RPs isn't what you want going into the biggest match of your career.

Justin Cooper's most recent run has been impressive. Prophet has matured, got his wits about him, and put out some of the best content out there. He's proven it too, with tag title victories, the LL, and victories over some massive opponents. He's on the hype train, and as Prophet has mentioned, this is his goal. He wants the title. He craves the title. He needs the title.

However, one of the things about the hype train is that at some point, the hype is going to finally catch up with you, and consume you alive. Or, you'll run the hype train for so long, that the train runs out of fuel, and you'll slow down naturally. It happened with me as Eve Taylor heading into the Lethal Lottery, and my passion to win it was the same, maybe more, than Prophet's passion to win the World title. I got consumed by the hype train, and I failed. This is Prophet's biggest problem with Justin Cooper. Himself. If he can overcome himself, this is going to be a tough match for Yaz.

Mikey Stormrage has been on a constant roller coaster throughout his entire career, with a majority of his success coming from pairing up with another character, whether that be a partner, or in a hate-filled feud that takes Yaz to another damn level. Although Eve & Mikey haven't been featured together for the build-up in Kingdom Come, and the feud with Cooper hasn't reached the heights that his other feuds and matches (like Howard & Tastic), there is still plenty of material for Yaz to dig deep, get himself psyched up, and obliterate Cooper. It's going to be a specific set of material, but I'm not discounting Yaz.

Hype train tells me Justin Cooper will win, and I'm sure most people expect Cooper to win... but Yaz has all the material there to create a monster, and Cooper has a very good chance of coming up short because of the hype.

This has turned into one of the most complex storylines in quite some time, and I mean that as a compliment. There's so many layers to the angle and it's a deserving main event. With no RP's to read yet I predict Cooper takes it though Mikey's had plenty of awesome material before so it truly is anybody's match to win. Best of luck to you both!
