Just Got Round To Watching "Ted".

To be honest, I thought it was a brilliant film. Seth McFarlane is one of those guys you either love or hate. He's like Marmite. However, I really enjoyed the film and here's a hugely annoying list of why I did.

  • It used my kind of humour. Vulgar, pushing the limits, those kinds of things are funny if they're done right, which McFarlane always seems to acheive.
  • Joe from Family Guy was in it. Y'know, the guy who at the start of the film had been beaten up, then later on, he realised he loved the guy that beat him up, figured that he was gay and the guy who beat him up was Ryan Reynolds?
  • Mila Kunis
  • Giovanni Ribisi was an awesome choice to play the "bad guy" in the film. He's one of my favourite actors & he's great in pretty much everything. His kid in the film, Robert, is also a great little actor and that bit at the end where the voiceover said he became Taylor Lautner cracked me up.
  • Mila Kunis
  • Ted's attitude. From touching up the lady in the park, to being a complete bastard, to saying "BACK OFF SUSAN BOYLE", Ted's attitude pretty much stank and you still loved him.
  • The supporting characters were all good. Ribisi as I've mentioned, but the guy playing Lori's Boss, the creepy guy who just wanted to fuck her, was great.
  • Mila Kunis. AND SHE SAID CUNT.

Yeah, that's it for now. There's loads of great quotes in the movie too, I must say, I really enjoyed it.

Movie was funny but the over doing of the accents did get annoying after a while.

It took me so long to see it simply 'cos I missed it when it was out in the cinema and then I never bought the DVD. If I knew it was that good, I'd have watched it a LONG time ago.

Yeah, it's very funny. I loved the friendship between John and Ted even after they both grew up. And it was great seeing how certain childhood traits/fears carried over. Good writing. Mila Kunis also had so many funny scenes. I liked her character Lori. It's cool that Mila Kunis is so diverse in her roles. I never thought she'd appear in such a crude-humoured movie as this lol. The movie also carried a certain 80s vibe with all the nostalgia surrounding a teddy bear and a surprise appearance by an 80s icon. I recommend to all who ever loved a childhood memento well into their adulthood.

I enjoy that Family Guy humour, so I wasn't all that shocked by this kinda comedy by McFarlane.

Entertaining. The Hotel Room scene was lawls.

If Ted had Family Guy humour, I'd have punched myself to death long before the movie ended. Fortunately, it was actually funny. Like the first three seasons of Family Guy.

Seth McFarlane tries too hard to be offensive. We get it, Seth. You want to make society go, "Oh man! What's wrong with you?!' In the end, we think you're trying to troll too hard.

Best part of the movie's when the bear's trying to nail the cashier. What kinda girl lets a stuffed animal put a carrot in her vagina? And where can I find this girl? Craigslist?

It was 10% good, 90% bollocks. I was actually surprised by how tame it was considering the source but the most offensive part (the Asian neighbour) was also easily the unfunniest. On the whole the film pretty much represents MacFarlane, what works in animation comes across as offensive and unfunny when you bring it into the real world.

Yeah, because making a huge plot point revolve around a shitty movie that no one has ever seen is totally trying too hard to be edgy and offensive. He made a movie that would appeal to the nerdy fanbase who follows Family Guy religiously.

I found it horribly average. A shame, given the stellar premise.

Giovanni Ribisi was fabulous though. But then again, when isn't Giovanni Ribisi fabulous? I'm convinced that man can make any piss-poor writing look passable.
