Josh Koscheck vs. Tito Ortiz?

After Mark Coleman's lost Saturday at UFC 109 to Randy Couture, during his post fight interview with Joe Rogan, Tito Ortiz yelled at Coleman from outside the cage, "Payback is a Motherfucker!" Coleman lashed back at Tito, "Anytime you want it, bitch!" For those who don't know, Coleman and Tito were scheduled to fight at UFC 106, but Coleman had to back out due to an injury he suffered while training. Tito on his Twitter said that Coleman bitched out of the fight, and Coleman took offense to that and in an interview the next day, took pop-shots at Tito for marrying pornstar Jenna Jameson and having kids with her. Tito said that's why he did what he did Saturday; to get payback for those comments about his family.

However, a Tito/Coleman fight is not the talk around the MMA fanbase right now. No, instead... it's JOSH KOSCHECK vs. Tito Ortiz everyone is talking about. Yes, Josh fucking Koscheck came to Coleman's defense and actually challenged Tito Ortiz to a fight on a UFC show. Koscheck, apparently a friend of Coleman, posted these following tweets on his twitter Sunday and Monday:

"Why is TitoOrtiz such a bitch? Talking shit to coleman right after his lose. After @ChuckLiddell fucks him up. I want my shot 2 fuck him up"

"Hey @titoortiz so do you think you would take the fight?? About 90% of the people on ***.tv think I would get you!!!"

"2 little? Look at the old days of the UFC. I would bet 100k of my own money on it.After I fu*k this Brit up,I want to kick big mouths ass."

So... two questions for you guys:

1. Should the UFC, for one fight only, throw the Weight limits out the window and put this fight together?

2. If the fight were to happen, would Josh Koscheck stand a chance against someone with perhaps a 20-30 weight advantage on him, and as skilled as Tito Ortiz?

.......................................................................

1. Absolfuckinglutely!!!! This fight would draw HUGE for the UFC. Perhaps the two most arrogant shit talkers in the history of the sport, going one-on-one would just be tremendous. If Kos believes so much that he can take Tito on, and if apparently the fans do as well, then this fight needs to happen, end of story. Fuck weight limits and all that; for one more time, let's go old school and just see two guys who don't like each other duke it out and leave it all in the middle of the octagon. Besides, if you can have Brock Lesnar pound on someone who he outweighs by well over 40 pounds, then you could easily put this fight together, too. There's absolutely no excuse for this not to happen, in my opinion.

2. No, I do not. I think Tito would crush Koscheck's face, and that's a HUGE reason why I want this fight to happen so bad. Kos lately has gotten a lot of nuthuggers around the MMA Internet Community, and nothing would please me more than to see Tito not only shut Koscheck the fuck up, but his fans as well. The fact of the matter is.... Kos' overhand right won't knock Tito out (if he connected in the first place), he would NEVER be able to take Tito down, and I'm positive Tito would be able to take the clown down at will. Tito would completely dominate this fight in my mind.

What do you guys think?

I would definitely pay to see a Kos/Tito fight. It would be nice to see shades of the old days in the UFC, even if it was for one night. The shit talk going into the fight would be epic as hell to begin with. You could get your moneys worth from that alone. However, I think the UFC is going to have to jump through some hoops to make this fight happen if they really wanna do it. I am not sure what the regulation is about catchweight fights but I do believe there is something against that large of a difference, then again BJ Penn fought Lyoto Machida a couple years back so maybe not.

Kos wouldn't stand a chance. Tito is much so big and in my opinion the much superior wrestler. Kos would stand a better chance standing but I have a feeling that Tito would take him down at will and ground and pound the shit out of him. I don't really see Kos standing any sort of chance if this fight happens. Regardless, I would love to see this fight happen.

No way Kos should take this fight i think that he would get destroyed by a much bigger and stronger Tito Ortiz i just think that tito would get kos to the ground and just dominate him with the ground and pound.

I mean it's cool that he is sticking up for Coleman but his bark is definitely worse then his bite. It could be a competitive fight but i highly doubt it i think it should be Tito VS Coleman not kos. If Coleman is so angry with Tito then he should fight him not Kos or maybe Coleman is ducking Tito.

Actually the rumor making the round right now is that Mark Coleman is through with the UFC, er the UFC is done with him. Point is it appears that Coleman will NOT be fighting in the UFC anymore.

Obviously it would make more sense for Coleman to fight Tito and a seriously doubt that Coleman is ducking Tito Ortiz when he fought Fedor twice. I wish the UFC would give Coleman one more fight against Tito, but it is highly unlikely.

A fight with Kos would make little sense but it would draw pretty big numbers. Everyone wants to see an upset and a Kos win would be an astronomical upset in all of mixed martial arts. Regardless of if it doesn't happen it will be entertaining as fuck to speculate about.

I'm not too huge on MMA, however, just seeing the title of this thread pulled me in. I don't hugely follow anything like the UFC or Strikeforce, but I know enough names to realize how big of a fight this would be. I recently watched UFC 106 on DVD, and Koscheck and Tito really love to run their mouths. Different weight classes...who cares!! Let these two fight and settle it out in the octagon. It'd be interesting to see if Koscheck would use his striking or his wrestling against Tito. Either way, if this were to happen, I'd love for Koscheck to win.

I would love to see this fight, let's hope it happens. Also on a sidenote, I'm pondering on going to UFC 113 in Montreal.

IMO, Kos would crush Tito. Kos is way more well rounded and more skilled than Tito is, and even with the weight advantage, it won't be enough to beat Kos. Kos would be so much faster, i don't see Tito getting him down, which would be the only way he could beat Kos.

I know this would be a win for Tito. Of course it won't be an easy win, but I still see Tito beating the hell out of Koscheck. I feel Titos wrestling is superior to Koschecks, I'm pretty sure Tito would just take him down and have his way with him. I mean come on Titos got like over 30 pounds on the guy! We all know how a good wrestler, with great ground-and-pound controls a fight.(Lesner). I know for a fact Tito would defeat Koscheck.

Tito would not beat kos hes bigger sure but kos is more skilled tito hasnt been important in the ufc for years and he is extremely overated kos would kick his ass(NO I DONT LIKE KOS LIKE THAT) but the shit talking would be perfect

Lol explain to me how Kos would win this fight. Tito is far bigger than Kos. Let's go out on a limb(and a huge limb) and say Kos has better striking. Kos's striking would not knock out Tito Ortiz. Tito has lost by being knocked out to the likes of Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, and Frank Shammrock. Hes taken the best from these great strikers. No way would Kos stand a chance at winning on the feet.

Let's even say Kos starts winning in the striking by scoring more points somehow. Tito can easily take him down. Kos may be a wrestler but he walks around 190. Tito walks around at around 230. That's a HUGE difference. Kos may be a great wrestler but there are very few fighters that can stop a Tito take down let alone someone 40 pounds lighter than him. To me theres no way Kos can beat Tito Ortiz.

most of this comes from me hating tito to be honest but kos has a chance he can stand up and trike and work on the ground, i admit if tito gets on top and passes guard its over but tito is aging and obviously a shell of his former self

No. Kos may have decent striking, but it would not be enough to beat Tito. Tito has 3 rounds to take Kos down and that's IF Kos wins the striking. Tito doesn't even like passing guard he stays in guard and drops elbows. If Tito takes Kos down once I think the fight will be over. Tito is way to strong for Kos if Tito can take Forrest down he can take Kos down. A former shell of himself or not hes still a great fighter, and would surely not lose.

Honestly, Fizzy is right. Tito may be a shell of his former self but he is still better then Kos and that takes nothing away from Kos. Tito is to big for Kos to take down, whereas Tito will be able to take Kos down at will. Tito has taken punches from the best in the business and as good as Kos's hands may be they are nowhere on par with Liddell's, or Randy's. Tito may not be the best striker but his head is sure as fuck tough enough to endure some Kos punches. Kos's best bet would be to grind out a decision and that would be a damn near impossible feat against someone like Tito who generally does not tire and who usually comes full force towards hi opponents, minus his last fight with Forrest where he gassed. Kos has little to no chance at winning a fight with Tito, end of story.

Why the fuck not I say, I mean look, Tito is going to get his ass handed to him when he faces Chuck Liddell, 3rd time won't be the charm for him, so why not throw the weight class out the window and let him fight someone who wants it?

To answer question One, should they? Yeah why not, Will They? probably not, only because then you have the risk of everyone wanting to do that, and it'll just become chaos, but if Josh can gain a couple dozen pounds, then it'll happen. For one night only, maybe, but unlikely, mind you it is Dana White, so who knows..

And for the second question, would he stand a chance? Yes, in every fight, both guys have a 50/50 shot, were they take there 50% chance is something no can predict, maybe Josh knocks out Tito one punch, maybe Tito submits Josh and wins, who knows, my pick, although I hate to say it, would be Tito, simply because I think Josh wouldn't be focused on winning but just beating the hell out of Tito and that'll leave him open.
