Occasional Pre-Show
You know recently i have started to get into more of his matches, and to me he looks like a good wrestler, and has a decent look. And I feel that if you ask most people who this guy is then either they dont know or hes like some random jobber. Frankly I'm pulling for this guy to do something big, and get a nice push.

So just tell me your thoughts on The Devine One

I am indifferent about this guy. A part of me looks at him as a jobber, and another part says he has some potential. But I don't like his current gimmick or attitude. He just looks like a prick, and not in a good way like Robert Roode.

If he stays the way he is, then no i think he will remain a jobber.

I still feel sad about Senshi wanting out of TNA, they should have tried to keep that guy. He is someone I saw potential in :(

You Know there is 2 ways about it with devine, either TNA can adopt him a gimmick of which im sure they can probably easy come up with, and this guy really is decent on the mic. Or you can keep his current look, and gimmick, and well I prefer what he is now, but its all perception, and if a gimmick will help him then more power to him

I think he's a very good wrestler in need of a change up and a decent gimmick. Unfortunately for him, he is in TNA. If they develop a gimmick for him it will probably be somewhere along the lines of "The Devine Warrior" where he'll come out with laces around his arms and face paint. Or maybe they'll go with "The Devine One" where he'll come out, pushing up one eyebrow and call everyone jabroni.

Devine will probably be stuck where he is for a very long time. I know WWE takes a lot of crap for giving bad gimmicks, but at least they are WWE gimmicks. It's sad too because in old school TNA he would have been a high level X Division guy, I'm sure of it.

Ive seen Devine since his "Hot Shot" days in the indy scene, and always though he had potential, but look at how TNA books the X division now.

If 2-3 years ago, the Xscape match wood have been Jay Lethal, Christopher Daniel, Sonjay Dutt etc. Now its Black Macheesmo, Curry Man and the Guru..........I thought that the X division was different....

I've only really witnessed Johnny Devine's TNA career and - around about the time I started to look up his matches on YouTube, actually - I've recently realised how unremarkable he truly is. Yeah, he can do a bunch of cool moves, which X Division (i.e. cruiserweight) can't? Besides Shark Boy, that is.

It's a sad thing, but Devine isn't really that underrated at all. He's been misdiagnosed with Alex Shelley syndrome when in fact he just has the much more boring and tedious Kaz syndrome. As in, everyone kisses his ass for some inexplicable reason despite how blatantly bland he is in comparison to the competitors he's surrounded by.

It's still different. It can be different and shit.

he's underrated in that his finisher is sick and it gets no credit cause hes uses it like once a month. Secondly he's underrated cause they don't even mention he did have the X division title and defended it once against Homicide but they don't say a word about it like it never happened. Overall I think he is simply not rated, because he has been a lacky in TNA. First he was Petey's lackey in Team Canada, the Shelley's in Paparazzi until that became Nash's, then he was Raven's lackey, and now Team 3D's, the man hasn't had a chance to make it on his own or even be with a partner to compliment him well

I dont know what to think about Devine to be honest, I wouldnt want to see him at the top of even the X division yet, he seems to have good ring skills and that shooting star press at Lockdown was dam impressive. But they guys doesnt seem to have charisma, but perhaps he just needs the light to show, take him away from 3D and let him shoot his on promos, see what he does and we will see. But im interested!

If Johnny Devine left TNA today I probably wouldn't notice. I think TNA made a good pairing when they hooked up Devine with the Dudley's. That gave Devine a little more name recognition, but I don't think it's enough to get him over. Devine is painfully bland and honestly doesn't bring anything special to the table.
