Porn is okay here long as it ain't dudes.
I haven't seen any posts on this subject, so I thought I'd see what kind of opinions I could get out of this.

Real talk, folks: The shark in Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic, Jaws, isn’t exactly impressive by today’s special-effects standards. However! Does that mean Universal Pictures has to go and foul up a fine franchise by remaking the original in 3D again? Apparently, yes. Yes, it does.

CinemaBlend reports that a source inside Universal says the studio has a Jaws remake in mind, this time using the 3D technology Avatar made so popular. It’s also rumored that Tracy Morgan (!!!) was at one point being considered to play Richard Dreyfuss’ character Matt Hooper. Perhaps Universal wants to really overhaul Jaws into a comedy? Perhaps this whole rumor is a load of bunk?

Whether a 3D Jaws will be chomping its way into the box office any time soon remains to be seen, but with ESPN and Discovery’s recent announcement that they’ll soon launch 3D television channels, it’s starting to seem like those goofy glasses aren’t going anywhere soon.

These past 5 years the movie-goer has seen quite a smorgasboard of remakes. Now thanks to the 3-D movement in movies, we may be able to see another remake: this one with the Great White himself.

So what are your thoughts about this "remake movement" hitting Hollywood? Is it a popular trend, or a legacy killer?

And with that in mind, do you want to see a rebuffed Jaws movie, complete with CGI work?

If done right it could be cool, I like the 3-D craze going on. I went and saw Clash of the Titans in XD3D and it was an experience not just a movie. That added depth really puts you in the movie like you are standing right there in the scene. I like the fact that what has become the highest grossing movie of all time was primarily a 3-D movie as well because that raises the standards for the movies shown on that format. It used to be anything will do if it's in 3-D so you got a lot of bad 3-D movies from the technologies first run. Since the success of Avatar however, the idea that you can make a good movie and make it good in 3-D is catching on, the odds are becoming more likely that we will get some real spectacular 3-D movies in the future.

Jaws is a touchy movie due to the number of bad sequels and the failed attempt in the 80's with JAWS 3-D. I personally love the first one, and if they could keep to that blueprint with a slight modernization or even a blatant remake set in the time of the original Jaws I would be all for it. The only problem is there's no way that's going to happen. Hollywood is about as bright as a black crayon when it comes to this kind of thing. Wanting to throw it in 3-D so they can really fuck it up and lower their standards makes me even more scared for this possible reality. A CG killer shark in 3-D could be mind blowing if done correctly, I just don't see them getting it right.
