Is Rob Van Dam on his way back

WWE4EVA!

Occasional Pre-Show
As we all know Rob Van Dam attended the Hall of Fame ceremony last night, and it got me thinking is he on is way back to the Wwe.

So I got a few questions

1. If Rob did go back to Wwe, who would you like to see him fight?

2. Would he get another shot at the Wwe Championship?

If RVD is motivated then he has the potetntial to be a very valuable asset to whatever promotion he is in. However since 2002 RVD has been motivated for a total over about 5 individual shows. And two of them were WWE ECW events.

RBD doesn't have anything to offer wrestling anymore in my opinion. Hopefully he comes back and proves me wrong.

His TNA run was very lackluster to say the least.

If he came back I wouldn't mind seeing him work programs with the midcard heels though. Could be a good way to give guys like Barrett, Sandow, Cesaro, Rhodes and others a win over someone with a ton of accolades and who is still pretty popular despite his dwindling talents.

I think he's on his way back to the WWE...So he can be on his way OUT of pro-wrestling.

The guy is 42 years old, and his recent TNA work isn't how he should go out. He should have a feud with CM Punk, and/or a feud that puts a younger talent over, then he should hang it up.

As said by Y2 Jake, I hope he comes back and preforms like he did in 2002, but I don't see it.

I imagine RVD having some fun one-shot appearances in the future whether he comes back to WWE or not.

During his entire stay in TNA I wanted him to entertain me the way he did in his ECW/Early WWE days. Fact is though, I just don't think he has the exciting factor to him that he did when he was younger. Not sure why, but when he first started his career, when you looked at him you would instantly think "that guy just looks cool." Now he's just some old guy who can move at half the speed he used to.

Does he still have worlds of talent? Yes. And he can put on a better match than most still (when he tries). But quite frankly, that's not enough these days. Sorry, but I wouldn't miss him if I never saw him on TV again. I appreciate everything he did for the business though.

1. Its not who I want to see him fight, but who I'd love to see him with. I was thinking another Paul Heyman guy. I think he would be a great add on to the other two top major stars punk and lesnar. 2. I don't see him to come back for the wwe world title, but I do see him for the World Heavyweight Championship. Right now they are pretty low on superstars to compete for it,they have alberto, swagger, ziggler, orton, show, sheamus as actual decent candidates right now. It'd be nice to see RVD add in with that group. He has already had some amazing matches with orton, ziggler is a young guy and I think they can both show each other off,and alberto with his aristocrat form would be a nice match up. I would just hate to see him come back and wwe not take advantage of his talent.

I'm not sure that RVD should rejoin the WWE; however, i do think it would be a good career move. One last run in the biggest company and a lofty paycheck is good enough reason.

I would love to see a feud with CM punk. They could put on some great matches. Also Swagger for some reason. I'm sure he could help get guys like Rhodes, Barret and Ziggler get over.

As for the WWE championship there is no chance he will get another shot. I think that he could have a run as a tag-team champ if they find the right partner. Again, he could really help someone younger progress in their career.

Guy's he's returning to feud with Ryback, he wants his clothes back!

But seriously, Triple H never liked him, he was the guy that said he wasn't "ready" in 02, and now Triple H is running the show...so If RVD comes back its probably for some one off appearances.

I would like to see him come back for a few appearances, and would love to see a match with Punk. I can't see him really being in it for the long haul. He is getting older now, and given his lackluster TNA run I don't see him jumping back into the main event.

2. Would he get another shot at the Wwe Championship?

I don't think so. As other have mentioned he never seems motivated, and the last time they gave him the belt he got caught smoking weed and blew that shot. I can't see them giving him a shot at this point in his career after messing up like that. I have always liked RVD, but would really only want to see him back here and there.

I am the other side on that. Punk and RVD had good chemistry when Punk was starting in ECW, and RVD and Brock had some really good matches right after Brock debuted. Vengeance 2002 I was at, and they had a great IC title match that ended in Heyman getting Brock DQed after RVD hit the 5 star frog splash. Then in the KotR finals Brock won against an injured RVD to keep them both strong. Not that WWE would waste Brocks appearances on a match with RVD. Not to mention the Heyman aspect. But a part of me would enjoy RVD vs Lesnar at Extreme rules.

Also staying in the Heyman theme, if the Shield ends up with Heyman all 3 could have a good match with RVD. Maybe RVD can re-debut as a mystery partner for Sheamus and Orton if they try to do a 6-man tag with them again.

As far as a title shot, I compare RVD to Jericho now. He doesn't need the title at this point in his career. Maybe get a shot, but for sure not go over. As I type this, a Cena RVD "rematch" at Extreme Rules (the former One Night Stand) could be a good match for him too.

1. If Rob did go back to the WWE then I would personally like to see him face somebody who could use the rub from him like Swagger or Ziggler.

2. While the WWE title scene is pretty much made up of Cena and Punk at the moment, RVD would be much better being used in the World title scene as a lot of the guys like Ziggler and Swagger could do with a rub from a guy like him.

If they bring RVD back, all I can say is he better be putting someone over. I don't see any point in relaunching a RVD-Cena feud even with Heyman back, no matter how interesting it would be.

I think he'll be back so he can have one final showing in WWE.

The fact of the matter is that Cena's reign is just beginning and don't expect him to drop the belt anytime soon, unfortunately. RVD is getting older and if he wants to come back, he'll most likely be putting over young guys so he can come back for one last time, but also leave a mark on the up and coming WWE talent.

As much as I love RVD the last I watched from him in TNA was far from good.

I'm still open to them bringing him back, as far as who I'd like to see him work with?

If WWE are actually committed to reviving the tag team division: Put CM Punk and RVD in a tag team together, leave them together for 3-6 months and then have them feud with Paul Heyman caught in the middle.

RVD/CM Punk vs Kane/Daniel Bryan - those could be really good matches if WWE gives them enough time and CM Punk vs RVD has a lot of potential too. Let's not forget Kane and RVD have a lot of history and so do CM Punk and Bryan which only helps to sweeten the deal.
