Is it all one big social media game???

Occasional Pre-Show
Two years in a row now the wwe have hit headlines with their royal rumble booking. But both last year and this what has the rumble achieved?

Outside media attention.

Last year Bryan's no show made the bbc media pages in the uk, which for wrestling is massive rarity. And the big cancel network trend last night, made time online. And both had various other media coverage.

More attention than usual....and from what's coming out of the rumour sheets is the wwe are very happy with the controversy. Due to the extra attention not just in the media , but social media...it all about numbers.

It seems that a big reaction is a good reaction, even if it's negative towards the product. Which is sad coz for those who watch it to be entertained and engaged in well thought out story lines, the whole thing becomes diluted.

Until the actual product comes first, over trends, and likes and hits on a facebook or Twitter, the viewing figures will fall, and ultimately lost revenue....which is bad for business. But at the moment it seems all the wwe are interested in.
