I haven't watched singing competition shows in years, but I'm over at my friend's house and we're watching X-Factor. In this episode they split the group into four 6-person groups by demographic. There's a lot of talent, especially among the youngest groups of kids. I now remember why I liked these reality shows; they have ridiculous hosts that are hilarious to laugh at, and a lot of the talent is really darn good. Nice to hear them before they covered in layers of auto-tune and a bunch of shitty club sounds.
Not a big fan of American Idol - watched the first season years ago, got bored - but anybody else watch any good vocal reality shows? I really like Sing Off. Because Ben Folds. I hear C.Lo is great to watch on The Voice.
For that matter, does anyone actually listen to "today's hits" pop-style music anymore? Any good talents out there? I stopped listening to the radio and pop music when I was like...16 because it's all shit.
