I think I've figured out the weird vibe I get from the WWE.

So I figured they can have it one of two ways, not both.

1. They go for realistic, somewhat edgy television that feature realistic storylines and realistic looking performers. I'm not saying they should bring back the buckets of blood they were using in the '90s, but when it's absolutely necessary, light swearing and a little bit of blood is okay, or if it simply happens on accident. Have realistic storylines that don't involve the supernatural, or magic or anything like that, and feature them with guys who don't look like they stepped out of an ab factory.

2. Larger-than-life, live-action "cartoon" series, where the top performers have 40-pack abs, and throw lightning at each other, like Undertaker. There's a lot more creative freedom here, and you'll be appealing to children, and thus sponsors (who likely don't know anything about your product, but it's easy and free money).

I felt weird seeing Undertaker vs. CM Punk. It wasn't clicking with me, at all. It didn't match. It was like watching a woman wear a leather jacket and black lipstick with a yellow, flowery sundress.

So basically, what you are saying is, you want either the 80s back with the Super-Heroes and Super-Villains or the 90s back with the “Attitude”. Well, my friend, you are in luck!! When the WWE Network debuts, you can have the 80s, 90s, and everything else.

Honestly, I think this could have worked during the Brand Extension. I thought that Raw could have been the “90s style” of Wrestling and Smackdown could have been the “80s style” of Wrestling. Like Jay-Z has said, “want my old $#!+, buy my old album.”

WWE has been having it both ways for years, though. Undertaker was throwing more lightning bolts during the Attitude Era than he was during the early 90s. Throughout modern history of WWF/E, weirdos like Kamala, The Missing Link, and The Oddities have been sharing locker rooms and wrestling rings with more straight-forward guys like Bob Backlund, Tito Santana, and Bret Hart. Nothing to get bothered about now.
