I love Eric Bischoff

Lets see.

He fired Stone Cold, let HHH, Chris Jericho, Mick Foley and Chris Benoit fall by the wayside in WCW. He obtained Bret Hart, had the Montreal Screwjob as a huge backing, and dropped the ball.

Then he has the nerve to talk about failure?

Um note to the misinformed:

It was actually Ric Flair that let Mick Foley fall by the wayside, Flair was booking then and pretty much has always thought that Foley was nothing more than a glorified stuntman. And Foley really hasn't done much to prove him wrong either. But other than that, Triple H was John Paul Levesque, talentless. Chris Benoit refused to stay as he loved sucking Vince Russo's dick and refused to be fed anything else. I'll give you Jericho.

But for the last fucking time, and listen up all you morons that keep saying this shit, Steve Austin was no where NEAR being Stone Cold at that point and time in his career. Shit, it was even some time before he was Stone Cold in the WWF. He was NOT Stone Cold when he was let go. He was Stunning Steve. And there ain;t too many of you who wouldn't call Stunning Steve Austin a ****** and kick him in the nuts. So get it through your heads about the Stone Cold thing as wrestling was booked WAY differently when he was let go and there were at least seven others who had similar gimmicks on the WCW roster.

It doesn't really matter whether Bischoff killed WCW, he's still a failure.

Point of fact:

Vince McMahon is running a major wrestling company.
Vince Russo is writing for a kind of major wrestling company.
Eric Bischoff is nefariously plotting with Hulk Hogan about maybe opening a new promotion. Maybe. And teaching Danny Bonaduce how to wrestle.

Sure Flair was the booker, but Bischoff was the one who was above Flair, HHH played more or less the same character when he started in WWF so that means nothing, and with Austin, the potential was there. Was Bischoff unable to repackage him?

Benoit-WOW. He refused to stay? Give me a break. Why in the hell should he have stayed? Oh let's give him the title to appease him, then once he signs a long term contract we put him back where he was. In WCW he was never going to get his chance because he wasn't 40+ and a former WWF champion.

It's about time someone from the wrestling world (past or present) pissed in Matt Hardy's face. He's been talking a lot of shit since winning the Diet Pepsi Title.

The Time Warner merger was what killed WCW.

Actually, what killed WCW was the fact that Time-Warner was no longer willing to allow a branch of their operation to lose between $60-80 million dollars a year (I read that in the Wall Street Journal!). Without the conglomerate money, Bischoff would never been able to implement his "business plan" in the first place; that plan consisting of spending mega-money on ornate productions and vastly over-paying former WWE stars to come work for him.

His goal: To kill WWE.

I've always been surprised at the number of people who disagree with me on that, but I keep bringing them back to one point: Why did WCW establish a new flagship program to run at the exact time as RAW?

I presume that if Bischoff had succeeded in killing the competition, he then would have looked to lower costs by spending less on production and by screwing the talent when their contracts were up and they had no one else to use as bargaining chips. Maybe in 50 years, he could have eliminated the annual deficits and run a profitable operation.

Great plan, Eric.

Well given Eric Bischoff said
Triple H will never be anymore than a mid-card talent
Austin was a loser
Undertaker has no place in this buisness

Thats just 3 people he said would not amount to anything

Anything he sais is irrelevant.

Though his classification of Matt Hardy as only a mid-card talent, is pretty accurate.
neither Hardy's IMO are World Champs. But thats OK ECW is a 3rd tier show anyway so he is a mid-carder

As for WCW failure well, i think you'll find Bischoff was doing what he was allowed to do so he can't be blamed for it totally failing in the end, blame Ted Turner etc. for that. If the money had kept rolling in WCW still would've been competing against WWF in the short term atleast

Bischoff was just the figure head and made a lot of bad PR/HR decisions.

Sure Flair was the booker, but Bischoff was the one who was above Flair,

Actually it's hard for Bischoff to do that from the AWA, which is wher ehe was when Flair was burying Foley in WCW.

HHH played more or less the same character when he started in WWF so that means nothing, and with Austin, the potential was there. Was Bischoff unable to repackage him?

Actually HHH sucked in both of his gimmicks in WCW. Sure he had a simial gimmick, but WTF did he actually do with it in WCW? Nothing. And if Austin was such a fuckin potential unstoppable potential commodity as Stone COld, then Paul Heyman would be a rich man. Thing is that it took several stops and many years before Austin even had the notation to rip off stuff he picked up in ECW. But yeah, I'm sure that the whole Ring Master thing was the stepping stone to greatness right? Fuck no. So get over it people. It took alot for Austin to finally get over. And it was guys like McMahon, Michaels, and The Rock who still were needed to get him there to the point of even being able to legitimately challenge Bret Hart. So was Bischoff unable to repackage him? Well when you fact in that he was 1. On the shelf with an injury and 2. That is took years for even McMahon to repackage him, then fuck yeah it was a lost cause for Bischoff who had Hogan, Sting, Flair, and several other proven already marketable commodities to work with at that point and time.

Benoit-WOW. He refused to stay? Give me a break. Why in the hell should he have stayed? Oh let's give him the title to appease him, then once he signs a long term contract we put him back where he was. In WCW he was never going to get his chance because he wasn't 40+ and a former WWF champion.

Yes, Benoit refused to stay. he refused to even give the new regime a chance as he was stickin dick to the new head booker's ex wife. I don't know, that sounds like some bitch assed shit to me. They gave him the title as a gesture of good faith and he still was too scared to stay and take it like a man. And as far as him getting a chance, what happened? he worked his ass off to become a "transitional" champion. Wow, yeah, he got some good shit there and for less "non-guaranteed" money to start. Does anybody ever think that WCW may have actually saw how letting Jericho go was a big mistake and might have given Benoit a chance with the ball? Nope, cuz you all just want to believe that he would have been buried. Yeah better to take dick in the ass from someone just because they screw the bosses daughter rather than from someone who worked their way up to the level of being able to do it.

Bischoff has one of the best minds in the history of the business. That is an indisputable fact. He, as much as anyone, has a right to his opinion when it comes to ANYTHING that's related to pro wrestling. His accomplishments outweigh his "failures" by an uncountable distance.

That said, I don’t think he should’ve thrown Jeff Hardy under the bus because of some remarks his brother said. Besides, Jeff is not that big of a fuck up, no matter what anyone says. For all we know, the only drug Jeff has ever taken was pain pills (I mean, that is what HE claims). It's just most people like to assume it goes further then that just because it's more gossipy.

Who's champion now?

Oh shit!

Erm, well i forgot that that won't actually be on TV until tonight (or whenever it's aired over here in England), so i can't answer that Sam. I thought it happened at a House show but i forgot that ECW is taped before Raw now, so it's actually going to happen on ECW tonight.

I await punishment for posting a spoiler......

Unless the Chandler temple rubbing time travelling trick will work.

Rub rub rub rub rub spert.....

Seriously though, my bad.

Well let's see. You're wrong about him being in the AWA during the Lost in Cleveland angle which Foley has said more than once that was the last sign that he needed that he was going no where in WCW and was leaving.

And Bischoff still could have tried. He told Austin he needed to find another line of work unless he could come up with something new. That's a great thing to tell one of your young stars.

What sounds like bitch assed shit is you trying to say it wasn't Bischoff's fault that Benoit left. He was treated like shit for 5 years and then he says he's leaving and they give him the belt? He was smart to do what he did and for some reason only you're not understanding that. No young guy in WCW that wasn't best friends with Bischoff got a break and Benoit actually thought his in ring ability was good enough to get him over. He goes to WWE and look what happens: he gets a summer long title reign and a great moment at Wrestlemania. If that's not a better time, I don't know what is.

Just PM me. I doubt anyone gives a shit anyway.

Yeah, and by then, Flair had buried Foley. Pretty much, Foley was nothing but a freak at that point. He was did like maybe a few moves and the rest were hits and clubbing blows. By the standards of the time, that did not make him a top tier wrestler. I think that when you people look at this, you compare the standards of the attitude era to the classic "territory" standards of that time. If the attitude era never occurred(as well as Hell In The Cell), Foley would just be a name alongside the likes of Hakushi, Jean Paul Lefette, Rad Radford, and many others. because I believe that Foley lost his friggin ear while in WCW, and not one fan gave a stinking shit about it or gave him mad props for it. So get over the fact that Foley never amounted to anything in WCW.

And Bischoff still could have tried. He told Austin he needed to find another line of work unless he could come up with something new. That's a great thing to tell one of your young stars.

Could have tried what? Austin was pretty much STILL "Stunning Steve" when he first showed up in the WWF. Same fucking gimmick for a decade? Same gimmick that made him nothing more than midcard fodder? I mean if it aint working, change it. And it appears that he took Bischoff's advice when he decided to do something different. Well he completely ripped off Sandman and several others from ECW, but he finally did something different. You make it seem like he went straight to the WWF and was instant gold. Shit, he was there for HOW long before he even showed a glimmer of Stone Cold? And WTF is that? You steal your name from a Brian Bosworth movie at that? Give me a fuckin break man. He wasn't a star in WCW, he was a guy sitting at home with an injury when you needed to cut costs a bit. Fucking WWF does it ALL the time and nobody puts up these "Austin was fired by WCW" arguments for them, do they?

What sounds like bitch assed shit is you trying to say it wasn't Bischoff's fault that Benoit left. He was treated like shit for 5 years and then he says he's leaving and they give him the belt? It wasn't Bischoff's fault. If I remember right, Benoit was long stroking Sullivan's ex wife and Sullivan became head booker. Benoit was made an offer and turned it down because he was scared of Sullivan. That's some BITCH ASSED SHIT, if you ask me. He wasn't treated like shit for 5 years. I mean shit the guy became a Horseman, so obviously they had SOME respect for him. And I'm sorry dude, but In ring talent isn't JUST enough to get you over. You need to be able to get on the mic and say something from time to time. Benoit still couldn't do decent mic work even in his later years. And might I remind you, he went to WWE for what? To become Trips' bitch. Wow, yeah, a step up. Um, and let me remind you of this, WCW was long closed before Benoit got his BRIEF summer long reign. He could have headlined Starcade and perhaps had a longer reign in WCW and still could have went to WWE if he didn't like it. But hey, history says Benoit was a bitch for being scared of Sullivan. Plain and simple.

In Matt Hardy's defence if he is a career mid-carder then he's gonna be an uber popular and well paid one.

In Eric Bischoff's defence Matt Hardy is a bit of a cunt.

Matt Hardy ftw.
