I feel the Raw title is the prop, Smackdown is the one that matters

Matowar is absolutely 100% correct. They are all props...they aren't real championships, neither are TNAs, or ROH belts. Sometimes people forget that simple truth. Belts are a tool in pro wrestling, nothing more.

My opinion is that the World Title is being used to push guys. If you look at the smackdown roster after the draft, you see guys like christian come in. Swagger is the current champ, which is a perfect example. It seems as if christian is in the drivers seat for a title shot now, especially guys like CM Punk. A lot of the smackdown verterans were drafted to raw like edge and jericho, so the world title may be put around the waist of guys that really need a push, and hopefully it happens, especially for christian.

Okay. Im sure that this is felt by more people here, but I figured that I would speak my opinion on it.

The term ''Prop'' for the title belts has been the trendy thing to call it since Russo said it in TNA. So I use it loosely, not in the way he did.

First of all, I'm pretty sure he said it in WCW. Secondly, why use the word prop if you don't want to use it's intended meaning? Was typing out "The WWE Championship is not as important as the World Heavyweight Championship" really too hard for you?

Raw is the Cena show, it has been for a while. Now, dont get me wrong, Im not a Cena basher. Im just stating facts.

Cena is the face of RAW. Cena is the face of WWE. Cena is the face of professional wrestling today. Should he not be the main feature of the show?

People tune in to Raw, Its the ''A'' show, so why not have the main Wwe guy hold the title.

Because that clearly wouldn't work. Fans today don't want the long title reigns like those of yesteryear, they want title changes, and they want them fairly often.

Regardless of how people trash him, They watch it anyway. So complaining about him is NOT the way to handle it. Your STILL supporting the show. And those who genuinely support him, are who they are, Kids/Women or whatever, They are fans nonetheless.

This has nothing to do with your title argument. In fact, your lack of ability to form a good argument and poor grammar enrages me. Also, you'll be surprised to see how many grown men support Cena. I know I'm one.

So,after a while, as a fan, I began to not care about the Raw title anymore. I still watch, but Ive gotten to the point of just not caring about the title no matter who's holding it.

So you accuse people of doing wrong by watching the show thereby supporting it despite the fact they hate it... and then admit to doing the same thing? You're going to give me an aneurysm.

There's too many reigns, to many transitions, and such. Ive just lost interest in that belt as a whole.

There are more in the WHC.

Looking at the Smackdown title, It has had so much momentum in the past couple years, Look whos had it in the past 5 years in comparison.

Raw:
John Cena
Edge
RVD
Randy Orton
Triple H
Batista
Jeff Hardy
Sheamus

Smackdown:
Triple H
Batista
Kurt Angle
Booker T
Undertaker
Khali
Edge
Cm Punk
Jericho
John Cena
Jeff Hardy
Jack swagger

This is a flawed list. First of all, CM Punk was Champion on RAW too, and so was Jericho. Your argument is not about the belts, it's about the shows, and you just did all your research using the belts. Thumbs way down on that one dude.

Though there is a few names that are normal for both titles. Raw is less varied and has had less impressive reigns.

The title changes came closer together, and none of the Smackdown reigns are all that impressive either. I mean, Khali? Really?

I personally find the Smackdown title to be the better title and the one True title that actually matters for more than t-shirt sales and a live show

Too bad your favorite show officially has about three main eventers.

Both belts are pretty important, and it's hard to say which one means more, but to me, it's the belt whose history resides in the WWE/WWF/WWWF, and that is the WWE Championship belt.

Okay:

1) Disrespecting grammar online is NEVER valid. Its a wrestling forum. Not the most respected type of forum anyway. So using the ''Grammar'' crap is cliche and is useless like most youtube insults. So drop that bullshit now. Its immature.

2) My opinions stated here. (And I'll make sure Im as accurate as possible so the fucking english professors on this site dont judge me) are just that, MY opinions.

No matter if you agree or not. Thats the point of the internet. I wasnt insulting ANYONE on here.

I feel, and have for a long while, that Smackdown is the better show. Roster and all. I dont give two shits about money and sales of WWE until I start seeing a cut or it. So what I speak on is based on 27 years of watching a product, and invested time and money in.
So liking or disliking it, is my prerogative. Not the choices that the IWC makes for me because they want to put themselves over amongst themselves.

3) I wasnt trying to get everyone on my side. But the fact that the discussion became insulting to me, just for stating opinions, is disgusting and flat out fucking rude. Only showing the fact of why the REAL wrestling buisness doesnt respect these types of sites.

Bottom line is, If anyone who had the balls to insult me didnt get what I was trying to say:

I LIKE SMACKDOWN BETTER THAN RAW. As a roster, a show, and a title. Jesus h fucking christ, was it THAT hard to understand.

For all those who claim to be so smart about things obviously dont pay to much attention.

Good day

(Waits for the: Its the internet, Be prepared to be judged even if you dont like it. Or the I owned you because Im agreed with by the majority bs responses)

I tend to agree with you as the current state of the WWE Championship being a prop but to me it's the Big Kahuna when it comes to Wrestling Championships. The list goes on and on about who has held the WWE Title. But the World Heavyweight Championship to me right now is the more interesting Championship. Jack Swagger is a believeable Champion and the WHC is to me the best "Wrestler" in the Company most of the time. You have your few exceptions. I think the difference between the two is which show it is on. I loved the WWE Title when it was on Smackdown. I think the problem is the booking of Raw and its stars. If the WHC was on RAW it would be a prop for Cena to hold on to for 9 out of 12 months of we are lucky.

I think this is one of those topics that everyone will be 50-50 on. You can't please everyone. At least in my thought, the WWE Title being allowed to be put on spinners seems to cheapen the image. If there were the big elitists, from yesteryear who were still alive, some would say that does cheapen the image of the thought of the belt. Whereas, the WHC belt still remaining somewhat along the same lines, a general belt, holds more true to what a belt is, and the whole legacy behind a title belt.

What's immature is rushing out your opinion without taking the time to make sure it's accurate and legible. "It's the internet" is no excuse for poorly written posts. These forums do a good job of keeping the rowdy "internet" stuff separate from the non-spam discussions in these sections. And if you want anyone to take you seriously you'll have to write in a style that doesn't scream "NOOB!".

You should have that kind of pride in everything you do. Stop slouching.

Fair enough, but when you put those opinions onto this site in the form of a thread, you are asking for discussion and debate. You don't get to create a thread and have only people who agree with you post in it; you're going to get people who disagree with you.

And may I point out that the topic of the thread was about titles being props, not which show is better. This made most of your opinion confusing because the titles have switched shows from time to time. And most all of your points came down to why you like Smackdown more (which is valid, but belongs in a different thread).

Also, you can talk all you want about not caring about the merch sales and such, but that's the reality of the situation. Saying that you like Smackdown more, or asking why some guys don't get pushed; these are all valid. But using language to insist that the fan are getting screwed because your guys aren't being pushed and your show just got hit up for it's talent is asking for people like me to come in and pick it apart. No one likes a whiner.

You guys are immature guys, you guys, you guys are immature guys, like, fer realz.

Again, if you aren't ready for criticism of your ideas or for being told you are wrong, you probably want to stick to the WWE.com or something where it's safe. The internet isn't an excuse to post garbage and get mad when others call it out as such. And yet people keep thinking that it will work.

Bottom line is, If anyone who had the balls to insult me didnt get what I was trying to say:

Oh no, we got that part. It's just that in these non-spam sections you have to back up your claims some or else it's spam. And you backed it up by making shitty arguments about the titles, using the wrong terms to describe what you felt (which makes you look silly) and dimisssing many of the first responses as pointless when this entire thread was started on a pointless and flawed premise. And now you are mad because most people that responded disagreed with you, and instead of taking it like a man you want to give excuses for it. Who's got the balls now?

It is the internet, you aren't being clever. You will be judged in your life on both the internet and the real world. Deal with it. And I don't consider this an owning, I consider it something to do in the mornings before work/class.

Within this post. I actually feel that the response wasn't as insulting as your others, And with that, I appreciate it.

Looking back at it. The title of the post itself is a tad bit rushed and misleading. As with my first few responses.

I'm not a fan of this sites spam rules, so I guess I rambled on and didn't truly get across what I meant in the beginning. Im far from a ''Noob'' at 27, and Ive used this site for a while before I had to change my name. So for the fault of that lies on me.

I should have written it out much clearer and without the rush.

The prop statement is probably what caused alot of the confusion, and more over I used it incorrectly for what I was trying to convey in this thread. And as I said, looking back at my responses, and the criticisms, my opinion has not changed. Though my wording should be.

Raw AND Smackdown's main event picture may be rather bleak, I just prefer Smackdowns. I made the mistake of talking about the importance of one title over the other, and thats where alot of your guy's issues with my opinion stands.

For good reason.

The roster is usually one sided in most peoples opinions, Smackdown is known for being nuetered when the drafts come and go, and even before hand the roster does not have the companies most over people on it, Save for the constant Smackdown work horse, The Undertaker.

The way I should have came out with this thread is. Which title scene do you prefer?

The safe and expected stature of Raw, Whereas the biggest and most recognizable or at least the most profitable person is in the light. (Not undeserving by the way)

Or

The less profitable scene of Smackdown, where it's a tad bit less predictable and safe.

As I stated, I prefer Smackdown as I lean more towards the wrestling aspect, and they're roster over Raws. Cm Punk, Swagger (Now), Morrison, Ziggler, Drew and others.

DirtyJose, and others who had negative critisisms, Thank you for even posting at all. And I respect the opinions, and I hope my revised wording of my original post can bring more opinions, and debates up.
