How much should Smackdown incorporate post-production tricks?

Since Undertaker's 'coma', we've seen Kane deliver a lot of monologues that for the most part have been pretty powerful. Something that has added power to the speeches has been the use of music/sound-effects/mini VT packages.

Smackdown, as it is pre-taped, will never be able to capture the excitement and feeling of 'anything can happen' that Raw can due to it's live taping, but could these aspects, if used properly, add to what Smackdown has already?

Now what I want to get a sense of is:

How do you feel about Smackdown using these post-production tricks?

How could this benefit other wrestlers?

And y'know, your general thoughts about this

I think is sorta an unfair advantage, but they gotta compensate some how. There's no way a tape show will ever have the same "must see" vibe a live one has.

Personally, I think it would be funny if they added the cheest Batman "POW!" and other sound effect signs for someone like Kofi, who uses a quick, in your face high flying style.

And y'know, your general thoughts about this

If they muted Matt Striker and get rid of the guys who can't get a reaction.. I would totally be in support of them flashing things up. However, most of the people on that show cannot get the crowd moving.. So, unless they wrestle in an arena covered with green screens, it is always going to dumb to try to add sounds to make the show more exciting.

I think post-production tricks should only be used during serious and intense promos. I remember WWE used some real dramatic music during a promo Matt Hardy did last year after he hit Jeff with a chair at the Royal Rumble. The music made the promo seem a lot more serious. The same thing can be said about the music WWE has been using during Kane's promos. This can be a good thing because the music and other effects WWE uses helps add some extra spice to the promos and segments, but I wouldn't want to see WWE go way too overboard with this.

Yeh I agree Mitch, it's quite under-stated but adds a lot of atmosphere to what's being said when it's done right. With Kane, the music slowly builds up as he gets louder and louder to intensify what he's saying. His mic skills are pretty solid so it's not even as if they're compensating for him!

I wonder if this idea just applies to Kane, but it'd be good to see them utilise this tool more to add an extra something to certain promos
