Hornswoggle To Star In WWE Film: Is That An Oscar I Smell Or 150 Pounds Of Cow Flop?

The WWE has announced that Hornswoggle will be the star in the new WWE Film "Leprechaun: Origins". It was announced recently that WWE aquired the rights to the 1993 film "Leprechaun", which has a cult following and is probably most famous for featuring Jennifer Aniston just before she landed the role of Rachel Green on "Friends". The WWE is re-producing the movie with Lionsgate, which is known for making and/or distributing some really good horror movies. "Leprechaun: Origins" is scheduled for release in March of 2013.

Needless to say, this doesn't exactly make my mouth water with anticipation. I mean, it's Hornswoggle after all. Not exactly the sort of figure that pops to mind when you think of someone playing a menacing, supernatural creature. But I can't say that I'm surprised either given 'Swoggle's size and all. The original starred Warwick Davis and is something of a guilty pleasure of mine. It's one of those flicks that you're kind of embarassed to say that you like and is so bad that it has a certain charm to it. I do find myself hoping, probably a waste of hope, that the script they put out has 'Swoggle portraying a menacing sort of character, but I doubt it.

Haha, I don't know what to say except that I will definitely dish out some cash to see this flick - Hornswoggle is an added bonus, I suppose. I can already see all the negative reviews this film will get. =/

Give it a chance, at least it's something that they can disown if it flops without a major star losing face...again...

It can't be any worse than the one with Kane in... and if they can get someone half famous to be in it as the main character, I could see it doing ok... WWE seems to be able to get pretty good character actors in the main... oh an cue at least one Diva to be killed off in it too...

Well, I think it is safe to say I shall not be watching this. I am not a fan of Hornswoggle in the slightest, don't even find him funny like most people do either. I am pretty certain that this film with completely bomb and lose WWE yet more money. Why they persist with the WWE Films department is beyond me.

I think we can safely say, before production has even begun, that this will end up being one of the ten or so worst fucking films ever created. I'm guessing it's going to be PG, so the kids can get it, seeing they're the only ones simple/stupid enough to waste the money.

I'll watch it, you can bet your ass on that. I hate the idea of contributing cash to such a pointless pile of shit, but I need to see just how awful this will be. I'll just download it, free of charge.

I believe this is yet another stupid mistake by WWE Films. This is going to be awful. THe first one was awful.. the sequels to it were AWFUL. There is one of them.. maybe 4? Where its the Leprechaun vs Space Marines.. I shit you not. It actually happened.

Oh well.. I will accept this as a film if Horney goes and gets the CW title out of the weird dimension he is from and hands it to someone decent.

I really dont get all the love fest for hornswoggle this movie will flop big time! Huge mistake by WWE IMO hornswoggle of all people. Its bad enough i have to see him at WM as the flag waver or whatever but now hes in a fucking movie really? Wow, all the people who are going ape shits is hilarious. I swear, you couldn't tell if some people here were 3 or 30 by the way they wine and complain all the time.

Unlike everyone else who seems to hate Hornswoggle for some reason, and just wants to nitpick like stupid fucks, I'm actually going to give it a chance. Why? Because Liongate is behind it.

Forget the casting, Liongate is amazing at making dark films. Repo the Genetic Opera Co-Starred Paris Hilton. And I can not stand her, but in that movie, she plays my favorite character. It just goes to show that you can't judge a book by its cover.

Not to mention, I don't find anything wrong with Hornswoggle... especially not to the point where I'm going ape shits over Hornswoggle being in a movie. In fact, this is a great chance for us to finally see if Hornswoggle can play a Leprechaun. Sometimes, an Origins movie is what a franchise needs to be revived, and if Hornswoggle can do a good job with it, then more power to him.

My god, isn't it such bad casting, eh? Having someone who is 4' tall cast as a leprechaun, it should of been, ooh, maybe Great Khali, he could do menacing, but unfortunately I don't think he'd come across very well as leprechaun, do you? Seriously, who else could WWE have cast in this film as a LEPRECHAUN? Admittedly I probably won't watch it as I'm a bit stuck in a rut when it comes to movies. I don't really watch anything that came out after about 1980!

I think the movie itself will be bad, but ill probably go to see it anyway, i actually just watched the first and second leprechaun movies recently, and its just one of those sequels where youll go to see it even though you know its gonna suck

The persist because they make money on DVD sales. Even if the film bombs in the box office they don't have a big budget so they never really lose much if at all. DVD sales put them over the top.

So while it's not a huge money maker they still do make some money on a lot of movies.

Well shit. I'm not a big Hornswoggle fan and I haven't really cared for most of WWE produced films BUT I will watch it simply because of Lionsgate. I love Lionsgate as they have put out some really good horror films so this won't be a PG movie I suspect that if Lionsgate has a lot of say here it'll prove to be a pretty good movie.

It has to be better than See No Evil, or Marine 2, or Twelve Rounds, do I have to continue. Hopefully it will suck so bad it will be awesome, and get a MST3000 treatment. Hornswaggle does the best with what he is given, we can't really blame him for his gimmick, hell he has more range without talking than half the WWE.

Lionsgate was also behind See No Evil and a lot of other shitty horror films as well so that's not a good example. I would be surprised if this movie would actually be R rated and violent like the original. It really doesn't matter who makes this movie or who is in it since the series is god awful to begin with. It was good for a few laughs and a cult favorite for a few people.

I'm sure Hornswoggle will have no problem mastering the art of acting like a leprechaun since he does it every week on television anyway. Any movie about a killer leprechaun terrible, especially one with Hornswoggle. I will watch it if it is out on DVD just to see how bad it is. Maybe this will give WWE some publicity and teaming with Lionsgate may even make the movie available in more theaters then just straight to DVD.
