Has it bugged anyone else that they handed us the winner of the rumble already

Occasional Pre-Show
Ok, I do not know if this thread has already been started, but i looked and didnt see anything, other than the just plain HBK v Taker thread, but the reason im doing this one seperate is i wanna see your opinions on the fact that vince has already basically said, hey im gona waste the rumble in order to make it Taker V Shawn, and has basically told us after tonights raw, 1/18, that shawn is going to win it.

Fine if they wanted shawn v taker, but id rather taker showed up tonight and said exactly what he did, besides the whole, you want a shot at my streak your going to have to win the rumble.

I would have rather just it been a mystery, although im sure most of us knew where it was going anyway, i would have rather it been a, u know what i think they want it to be taker v shawn, so shawn might win, but i cant put my finger on it 100 percent

So what is your opinon on the matter, did this fact upset you just a little bit, or does it bother you at all?

How sure are you that Shawn Michaels will win the Royal Rumble and face the undertaker for the title? From what i'm seeing, it could be anyone's game right now. All the major stars came out and said that they are out to win the Rumble this year too. And how sure are you that by the time Mania rolls around, Taker is still champion? He still has his title defense at Rumble against Mysterio and possibly Batista and then you still have the Elimination Chamber before Mania so there's a high chance that he probably lost the belt by then. And the fact that Shawn and Hunter are still Tag champs.. they still have to deal with Gallows and Punk and from the looks of it, I think a DX break up is bound to happen soon and maybe a DX 1 on 1 match for Mania anyone?? So yeah.. there's still 2 more weeks till Rumble starts and it could still be anybody's game at this point.

That would be much to obvious if HBK wins. The WWE will have some trick up their sleeve this year. :P

My guess is HBK and maybe Hunter are last, Hunter eliminates Michaels, and takes the shot against Sheamus(shudder). I base this on absolutely nothing. I'm hoping for a first time winner and first time Wrestlemania main eventer, but I can't think of anyone like that, at least one who's qualified.

I believe HHH will win the Rumble and face Sheamus. Shawn could somehow cost Undertaker the title at Elimination Chamber and piss Taker off enough to accept the challenge. I personally DO NOT want Shawn vs. Taker again. It was the best WrestleMania match ever! But, i don't think it can be topped and I don't believe anybody should end the streak. I don't see Shawn doing the job 2 years in a row to the same opponent. The streak is significant with Taker. Like Shawn being the 1st grand slam champion, or Y2J being the 1st Undisputed Champion. The significance shouldn't be taken away! Just my opinion. But back to subject at hand, I'd be surprised if HBK won the Rumble.

I'm standing by what i said regarding Rey vs Taker. If shawn doesn't win he'll screw the deadman out of the title and force him to challenge Michaels.

Even If shawn Wins the Rumble it will be good to see one of the all time greats have just one last run, if he is actually going to retire after Wrestlemania

It hasn't bugged me nearly as much as Bubba the Douche Sponge, but I have to agree and say that shawn isn't gonna win.I think (hope)they have bigger plans for shawn and this taker angle is just meant as a swerve in the story line

By the way , Bubba the douche sponge's apology is so transparent it makes me sick. Why didn't he just say "my boss told me to say i'm sorry".Stupid right wing fucker

I also believe that they should keep the streak alive, hbk is one of my favs but I honestly don't want to see hbk v. Taker 2 at mania.I think its mainly because they should keep that match the way it is and not try to recreate it,if they are not careful it could actually bomb at his years mania.me personally id rather see morrison win it.

well the current plans for mania seems to Be Micheals VS Taker, which if HBK wins he will be champ and on Smackdown, and Triple H VS Sheamus for the WWE title, this tells me a dx member will win, I see it most likely that HBK wins because I dont see them taking the title off taker and the only way Shawn could face taker at mania while taker is champ is if he wins the rumble

I don't think for one second that Shawn will win. They WWE is predictable, but they wouldn't make something that obvious, especially when they had such a classic that would be almost impossible to match. I can see HHH screwing Shawn out of winning and they will face off at Wrestlemania so Shawn can get pay back. Shawn has already won back to back Rumbles and faced Taker at Mania. HHH has yet to work with Shawn at Wrestlemania and it would be a marquee match. I see Taker working with Cena.

I don't think they handed us anything. I actually think in this case, WWE is doing a good job at playing up different angles and motivations for the rumble which is the way it should be. Sometimes, we have gone into the rumble with maybe 2 backstories and thus, figured it was only a couple of guys who could win. This year, it's already evident that they want the "anyone can win" angle so it's pretty unpredictable. Last week, you saw Ted say he'd win and Cody challenge him on it and this week that tension intensified so we'll see that play out in the rumble. Both DX members have reason to think they can and should win and that moment at the end of the show was to show that even the best of friends are NOT on the same side in a rumble since it's every man for himself. Big Show, Swagger (jokingly), Miz, among others, have given reason to why they are motivated to win the rumble and all these stories are what make an hour long battle royale worth watching. For the first time in a while, I truly don't have a clue who will win, and I like it that way. If you think it's a given that a member of DX will win, go ahead and think it. I'm not so sure. I could see a young guy get the win if any are deemed ready (in my mind they are not but you never know). I could see Christian enter the rumble after getting screwed by Regal on ECW and win it, I could see a heel Batista win the thing which hasn't been done, I could see Edge come back and win it, I think Jericho is a definite possibility as he never has before, and perhaps DX or John Cena but I think those are lesser possibilities. It's truly wide open and I think it will be a great PPV.

I think it may be a good lock that HBK is going to win. It didn't bother me but I was mostly intrigued by Taker saying he had nothing else to prove. However there are some other options. I've heard rumors of Sheamus vs Triple H which I hope will never main event a pay per view let alone Wrestlemania. I think what WWE really needs to do is suprise us. John Cena returning out of nowhere two years ago and winning was unpredictable. This year they should have Ted Dibiase win it. It's been teased quite awhile and I think he should get the nod. I would have Orton win the title at Royal Rumble from Sheamus and there's one half of your main event. But then again why not have JERICHO win it. I mean why is he jobbing all the time? Therefore, the main events should be Undertaker defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Chris Jericho and Randy Orton defending the WWE Championship against Ted Dibiase. Which leads me to the break-up of D-X. What should happen is Triple H should dump Michaels out of the Rumble leading to his lost opportunity against Undertaker. Then HBK screws HHH out of the Rumble in some fashion for revenge. That would set up Triple H vs HBK at Mania. WWE may have given us the winner or may have even fooled us into thinking they did. With Cena's back... I don't know what's going on with him though. A rumored match versus The Rock???

Watching it tonight with all the rumored matches for wrestlemania what if they had co winners for the rumble? If DX "won" then it would let them both choose who they can wrestle. It was the first thing that came to my mind.

RVD is going to make a surprise return and win the Rumble. He'll then win the title from Orton at Mania, only to lose it to a returning Edge, who cashes in his MITB.

Then Mr. McMahon's limo explodes.
