The Part 1 ended with Voldemort with the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand built by Dead itself, how can they stop him now?

14th/15th July!!
_________
I know one thing, I'm going to watch it Thursday, July 14th one day before you fellow american posters and I can't wait for it!!
I just hope that HP grabs an Oscar with the special effects but this years HP has a tough competition (Transformers, Super 8, Pirates of Caribbean)...

I'm very excited about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. As I've mentioned in other posts and threads about the series I have been a fan of Harry Potter before the movies. I started reading the novels before the movies even started coming out and I knew they would be great. I'm so excited about the last movie that for the first time EVER I'm actually considering going to the midnight showing Thursday/Friday; something I've never done for any other movie. I pumped and excited for this but also kind of down to because I know this is th finale and after this we don't have any other movies or books.

However as you mentioned should be a classic. Can't wait.

Man, I can't believe the final movie is finally coming out this week. I still remember spazzing out for the first Harry Potter movie when I was a child as if it were just yesterday. I remember reading the first four books when I was younger and I was a fan before the first movie came out. I gotta say I have somewhat high expectations for this movie. I enjoyed Part One very much and the end of it got me very excited for the finale. It's kind of a bittersweet feeling knowing that this is the end of the Harry Potter series but I'm really psyched for this all the same.

I'm excited. The final movie in one of the biggest movie series ever. They advertised it as "the motion picture event of a generation". No joke. It certainly is. I am making my prediction right here and now. With all of the hype surrounding the release of this film and with some theaters showing nothing BUT this film during its initial release, it will be the most financially successful film since Avatar. Pirates 4 made a little over a billion dollars, Harry Potter will easily top that with it being the last film of such a huge franchise. I can't wait to see it because I have been waiting a LONG time after the first part to see the ending. It's sad the series is ending though.

Is it wrong that i've shunned myself from everything remotely relevant to this movie to leave every single possible outcome as a surprise? I haven't watched the trailer, I haven't read opinions on what people think will happen, hell I stopped reading the book series after finishing number six just so I didn't spoil it for myself. I know I will be ridiculed by book lovers for that but the thing is, I find the books to be better than the movies yet I stopped reading in anticipation for the movie. That's how pumped I am to see this. Words cannot fucking describe how pumped I am.

I got my tickets for the midnight release a week ago and I am ready. I actually didn't see or even know about Harry Potter until movie 4 probably. The only reason I went to see one is because my wife is a huge fan. We are actually watching the second movie right now as we are watching two movies a day until Thursday on which we'll watch Deathly Hallows Part 1 before heading off to the theater at midnight to see Part 2. Last year we did the marathon at the theater and by the end of it I was starving as I had only eaten popcorn for about 14 hours. Good times plus sick times all rolled into one.

Damn, already the end of Harry Potter huh? Well it's been a great run. Goblet of Fire was my favorite one. I'm looking forward to this one and will be going the premiere. There are wild, crazy Harry Potter fans here. Campers are setting up already. Lol.

Well I hope that this ends good for Harry and see his parents come back in some way. Wonder what comes next after Harry Potter....

The local theater is showing Part 1, and then showing Part 2. I got my 3-D midnight premiere tickets two weeks ago, and I am pumped like a mother fucker.

I have loved the Harry Potter series ever since I read the first book as a youngster after my mom borrowed it from my sister in law. I freaked the hell out when my parents revealed they were taking me to see the first movie, and freaked out a lot more when the other movies and three final books started to come out. Hell, I even waited in line until midnight when the final book was being released.

That being said, despite all of my hype, excitement and fanboygasms, I feel very upset. We're seeing the end of a generation, something that's been a majority of our childhoods. We grew up with Harry, have been with him from escaping the cupboard under the stairs, explored Hogwarts with him, and accompanied Harry on all of his adventures. This is it, Potter fans. The last one. I honestly will admit that, at the end of the movie, I want to stand up, tears pouring down my eyes, and clap.

....though J.K. Rowling is teasing us by saying the Harry Potter series may have future installments...maybe. :l

Somehow I have avoided finding out how the Harry Potter franchise ends, I have refused to read the last book, knowing that I would probably end up seeing the movie.

I loved the first 4 books (Goblet of Fire) being my favourite, but I kinda lost interest after that, they just werent as much fun after he won the Tri-Wizard Tournament. I hated the initial films too, Radcliffe's acting was awful, and I usually hate child actors. They irritate me.

However, he has improved and done a pretty good job as Harry, so it will be a shame to see the franchise end. I dont really have any idea how it ends, I have heard rumours about several twists and turns, and knowing that the war between Harry and Voldemort can only by one of them killing the other, I am expecting an epic battle between the 2 to finish the movie.

But I dont know, and as I am going to see it Friday pm (it is released at midnight the night before), I will avoid looking at Facebook or listening to the news or reading the paper until I have seen the film, so as not to spoil it for myself. I want to go in there not knowing what happens in the end, and finding out beforehand will ruin it for me.

I've never really been a monster fan of the series, I've only watched the movies and never read any of the books(despite owning the first four). That being said I still do enjoy the cinematic journey these movies have brought me over the last decade. While I'm not necessarily Potters biggest fans, I can appreciate the story that's being told when I watch the movies. While they may lack the greater detail that the books provide, they still do a good job at conveying emotion, something I just can't get out of reading a book.

Now that the series is coming to a close and this being the final movie where everything over the last 7 has been building up to these events, I must say I'm super excited just to see how it all plays out since I don't have much of a clue of what really to expect. I've been watching all the trailers and keeping up with all the news and stories to fuel my anticipation for this film. I have been patiently waiting for this since I first saw part 1 back in November and its almost here. Going to go see it for sure.

Oh Harry Potter, when the series first started I was super hooked. I got the first three right when they came out and read each of them atleast 3 times, but for some reason after that I lost interest and forgot all about it. Fortunatly my gal got me back into it since she's obsessed with HP(when i'm on WZ she's on Chamber of Secrets ) and I got back into it. We have tickets for the midnight show in Dublin and I am PUMPED! Sad it's coming to an end though

On another note, as soon as I saw this thread I instantly thought of this. Now dont get me wrong I love HP, but I am a super dedicated and loyal LOTR fan so I cant help it :p

I just got back from the theater!!
I'm so happy and so sad, man it was a fantastic experience and in the very end everybody cheered and clapped, really amazing, I've never felt that in a theater.

It is different from the books, but they made it alright this time, I loved it!!
I'm not going to spoil anything, because it is something you have to see to believe.
Really a fantastic ending, and the 3D is very good.

I can't believe the Potter film series has come to an end. Ugh, and to think I was just starting high school, when the first film was released!

For the most part, I thoroughly enjoyed the Potter film series. Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire is still my favorite film, and I do think this is the best film in the entire series so far. The ending was one giant emotional roller coaster, that was filled with a nice set of twist and turns, and Lord Voldemort's return felt so shocking. I didn't think The Deathly Hallows Part One was a bad film, but it just felt so pointless at times. The entire film just felt like one big set up for the finale, and there times where I questioned the need for two films.

Still, I will watch this film, when I get a chance. I've been hooked into the Potter film series from the start, and I can't wait to see the grand finale. I haven't read the book for The Deathly Hallows in a few years, so I don't remember everything too well, but I hope the final film should jog my memory.

Saw the movie last night with IC25 and his wife and I must say, it completely satisfied me.

I was a rare breed of Harry Potter fans; I never researched or knew ANYTHING about how it would all end. So I went into this movie with an open mind and wasn't disappointed. I believe the storyline had a great ending and the movie really provided some incredible special effects and movie magic that brought everything to life. It's a shame that the series is finally over but it truly had the proper ending.

Yea, I just don't care. That's not to say I hate the film/books or anything. I saw the 1st and 6th(?) film. But overall it all just passed me by. In a way I almost feel "left out" what with all the hoopla surrounding this thing like it's a cultural touchstone event. But in the end I'm content with not giving much of a fuck. It'll be nice to not have to hear about it anymore. Hope everyone enjoys it tho'. Maybe I'll go see Winnie the Pooh.

Saw it last night at midnight (or I guess this morning?) and I have to say it was fantastic. There were points in the movie where you could hear people sobbing and I have to admit I cried like a baby when
Harry got the resurrection stone and his mom, dad, Sirius and Remus were all there
. Other than that I held up pretty well. There were a few moments where I felt cheated but overall I was satisfied.

To me, the biggest tear-jerking moment was when:

Ron found his one twin brother dead and his family cried around him.

But the movie wasn't much of a tear-jerking movie as it was a triumphant movie. I left the theater feeling completely satisfied.

I saw it today. I was very happy with the movie. I actually think this Harry Potter without a shadow of a doubt has become my favorite film of Harry Potter. This movie was fantastic. I agree with the tear jerkers so far. Mine would be

When Snape gave Harry his tear before he passed; followed by Harry watching Snapes memory; realizing the sacrifice he has to make; and finally receiving the ressurection stone and seeing his parents, Lupus, and Sirius.

That would be my tear jerking moment. I was thrilled with the movie and as I said I think this has become my favorite in the series.

Note: Those of you going to see you WILL NOT be dissappointed.

Im terrible at not reading spoilers, but Ive avoided them at all costs for this one. Like you said FSWWE, there are so many questions that need to be answered in this movie, and I think they'll do a masterful job of wrapping it up. The final battle between Harry and Lord Voldemort was freaking epic, and a nice twist was revealed as well. Everything in this entire series has building towards their final encounter, and it didn't. Having seen it already, I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't.

I havent read the books, nor will I ever. Ive enjoyed the movies as a fan and Im an avid reader, but I never felt the desire to read any of the books. But Ive seen every movie, and bought advanced tickets to see it last night at midnight. My wife has read the books, including the final one, so I bribed her in every way possible not to spoil the movie for me. Just because she ruined the ending for herself, there's no reason for her to ruin it for me. All I know is after she finished the book, she literally began counting down the days for the movie to come out, and wasn't disapointed in the least at how it ended. I can't say enough how awesome this movie is, and how it blew away the others in the series, all of which were great in their own right. This one was just that much better. Im disapointed to see the series end, but it certainly gave the series a proper farewell, aand a feel-good conclusion.

The movies jsut prove why Harry Potter is The Greatest Book Series Of All Time, Definitely am hyped to see Deathly Hallows Part 2 Tomorrow afternoon.

The goddamn Warner Brothers logo came up, and I cried. This movie turned me into the sniveling little bitch that I am when it comes to Harry Potter. I cried for about 50% of the movie, my girlfriend cried for the entire thing. Not one half of a fuck was given.

It was fucking perfect. I would have liked to have seen Grawp start flinging mofos around, and the army of house elves, but they were expendable. I could not have imagined a better movie. My one and only problem with the movie was the epilogue being a little forced, with Harry hugging and loving this kid we've never seen before, only because the movies never explored the love between Harry and Ginny on the deep level the books did.

But I'm nitpicking, the thing was perfect, and I couldn't have asked for a better film. 97% on Rotten Tomatoes what the fuck.

I agree with all you said especially the deep level. On the movies the love stories usually aren't deep. With both Hermoine/Ron and Harry/Ginny is more of a sexual attraction whereas in the books it was more of Harry not really having a girlfriend and Ginny having a crush on him so they clicked because she was no longer Ron's little sister.

Absolutely loved it. And I cried my heart out when
Snape died, and then you saw him crying over Lily's body. I cried again when I saw his patronus. Snape is my favourite character of the series, and I truly believed he was bad after HBP, so this was a great surprise (In the book, of course), and I never ever would have guessed his love for Lily.

I was worried this part wouldn't be done justice in the film. It's my favourite part of any of the books, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It couldn't have been done any better.

Voldemort's death
was maybe a little anti-climatic - or rather, it will be after watching it more than once. I assumed there'd be a bigger crowd around them and maybe a bigger reaction. But even so, very glad it ended how it did.

Can not believe it's over. I've loved the books for as long as I can remember, and when the final book came out it was a sad occasion, but 'oh, we still have the films'. Now there's nothing :(. But still, probably my favourite film of the series. I wonder how long before I can watch it without crying..

watched this movie.... IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! great acting, though, harry didnt really talk lots, was way to quiet and mysterious. anyways great movie!! they definately did a good job on this one, it was so worth the wait. kinda sad knowing that this was infact the final movie cause i really do like the series.
