"Great American Bash" Super Smackdown

Next weeks WWE Super Smackdown has the theme 'The Great American Bash'.
The only match announced so far is The Great Khali and Layla vs Antonio Cesaro and Aksana.

If you were WWE, what matches would you create?
I think it's a tough one, because a lot of the roster is from Canada as well as other countries which aren't America.

I would like to see Ryback vs David Otunga, someone who is known by the WWE universe, that will let himself get destroyed.

I can't really name anymore matches, but what would you choose?

They can throw in a international singles or tag team tournament or something.

Sheamus/Wade Barrett/Antonio Cesaro/Santino Marella (Team Europe)

Kofi Kingston, Justin Gabriel, (Team Africa)

Alberto Del Rio/Sin Cara/Hunico (Team Mexico)

Tyson Kidd/Christian/Chris Jericho (Team Canada)

Dolph Ziggler/Jack Swagger/Cody Rhodes (Team USA), they can even add in Cena and Punk for more fun and make them wear American attires.

The main event for tuesday will be the return of Rey mesterio and he will either be place in the main event or he will return and help cena when he is getting attacked by the big show and announce that hes in the money in the bank.

Id like to see a big match up take place. Khali/Layla vs. Cesaro/Aksana is hardly something to be excited about. We all know Khali is going to go over Cesaro which is a mistake. But Id love to see Cena vs. Sheamus or maybe champion vs. champion with Sheamus vs. Punk. Also Id like to see some more qualifying matches for MITB...i don't like that they only have 4 in the WWE and well i read the smackdown spoilers this week and the SD MITB isn't quite what i was hoping for. But my guess is they handle this like they did with that Christmas Smackdown. Just some bad gimmicky matches.

All I know is this Live SmackDown HAS to deliver. The past Live SmackDowns havent been nearly as good as their taped SmackDowns!

So for fun, here is how I think the night will go...

- The stupid tag match with Khali/Layla vs Cesaro/Aksana
- Ryback gets a real match either... Ryback vs Heath Slater OR Ryback vs 3 or 4 Jobbers
- Rey Mysterio will return in some fashion and get inserted into the WWE MITB.
- CM Punk vs Dolph Ziggler....I hope .
- John Cena & Sheamus vs Big Show & Alberto Del Rio

Super smackdown is gonna be better than normal smackdown.

This has been a long time coming. Were you droped on the head as a baby? Do you really think they are going to have a Turns Face This Raw match? And where the hell did Del Rio and Bryan's match come from? "Oh, dese 2 guyz hav submission finishers, lets throw them in a submizzion match cuz dats what I wana c." Also, do you keep up with the Tag Team Divisoin at all? PTP are the #1 contenders. Why would Primo and Epico be in the match? You may be the single most dumb poster I have witnessed on WZF.

As for the Super Smackdown Live Show, probably nothing to special. We may get one or two really cool matches containing the WWE Championship MITB participents. Then, a few more World Championship Qualify Matches. I'd like for this show to establish Sheamus' next opponent. Maybe Cody Rhodes can step up? Or Del Rio get his One on One match? Ziggler has had his chance, so I expect him to participate, and maybe win, the World Championship MITB Match.

I'm not really expecting anything huge from this show, but it would be nice to be surprised. Raw is usually the show in which big, newsworthy events happen so it'd be refreshing to see SD! get in on that for a change.

The match that's been announced so far doesn't sound very exciting, and probably won't be, but it'll be a good opportunity for Cesaro to score a win over a former World Champion and, surprisingly, Khali is pretty over. Unfortunately, I have a feeling they're going to feed Cesaro to Khali as a means of giving the fans a "feel good moment" since Cesaro & Aksana have been rubbing their new relationship in Teddy Long's face for these past few months.

I'd like to see a United States Championship match on the card in which Santino drops the belt. Unfortunately, a US title match could also be just an excuse to give fans another "feel good moment" with Santino retaining. I've also got a feeling that WWE might do some sort of lame comedy segment with Santino, as Santino is the United States Champion and the show has a 4th of July theme about it.

I'd say there'll be a couple of very good matches on the card, possibly a WHC or WWE Championship match or something involving whomever the SD! MITB match competitors are. It'll probably be a solid show overall, but nothing overly spectacular.

Great American Bash used to feel like an important PPV, and I like the idea of bringing it back for special editions of Smackdown. As far as matches that I'd like to see, I'd like the focus to be on the midcard with some title defenses and mini-feuds. Here's some ideas:

Kofi Kingston and Gabriel, Kidd or Bourne vs. Prime Time Players: Tag Team Title Match

Ryback vs. Tensai

US Title Santino vs. David Otunga

Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara, interrupted by Hunico and Camacho... Enter Teddy Long to make it a tag team match between Rey and Cara vs. Hunico and Camacho

Zack Ryder vs. Damien Sandow

IC Title: Christian vs. Cody Rhodes

Cena, Sheamus and Punk vs. Big Show, Del Rio and Chris Jericho

It'd be a mistake to do that, I have a feeling that we might see someone side with Cesaro to beat down Khali... If it's someone "not on the roster" (Dean Ambrose I'm looking at you) then what can Teddy do but Regal the following week can hire him.

A few matches have been announced online for the show this Tuesday. There's going to be a battle royal featuring some of the top guys on the roster right now such as CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Kane, Del Rio, etc. It could be fun as long as they don't put the entire locker room. Personally, I'd love to see a good 30 minute or so battle royal with just maybe the top 10 guys on the roster right now, kinda what they did in kicking off the BFG Series in TNA a few weeks back. This way, there'll be a lot of guys not included that just aren't all that important right now, plus it gives more of a chance to do more than your standard punch & kick offense.

According to a little something I read on Gerweck.net a few minutes ago, there are also going to be four MITB qualifying matches this Tuesday as well. I'm assuming there'll be a couple on SD! tonight as well. As of this past Monday, there are only four guys announced for the WWE Championship MITB match but I expect that there'll be at least two more added to it by the time it's all said and done.
