Please give reasons for listing cards

Well, for once the promotional poster looks decent. I could still do something similar to it on Photoshop though, and I only started using that program a few weeks ago. Anyway, Sting vs Mick Foley may be announced as one would have to assume, mainly because TNA gives away their main events on their poster. Not a very wise decision if you ask me, seeing as it was released a few months ago.

I can see Kurt Angle taking on Jeff Jarrett in some sort of gimmick match. Then I just remembered something: every match is a gimmick match. Since every match takes place inside a steel cage. I first starting watching TNA exactly a year ago, when Samoa Joe won the World Title at Lockdown 2008. I never saw the show, nor did I know who anybody was or what "Lethal Lockdown" meant. Speaking of Lethal Lockdown, I think it's some sort of 8 man tag team match inside the cage where weapons are allowed. I could be wrong though, so please correct me if you wish.

I could see 3 members of the Mafia taking on 3 members of the TNA Frontline in a lethal lockdown match. AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Eric Young vs Booker T, Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash. It looks decent on paper, and could be a good match if it does take place. That's just my prediction though. I could also see Beer Money defending their TNA Tag Team Titles to Team 3D in which I could possibly see a title change.

What are your predictions and thoughts for Lockdown? Please don't list spoilers in this thread and feel free to list cards, as long as you add detail to them.

Lockdown is a pile of shit. The only people who say otherwise at 15 year olds. There's just no point in having a whole show with matches contested in cage matches.

TNA obviously didn't get the memo: CAGE MATCHES DON'T MEAN SHIT ANYMORE.

But that still doesn't stop them coming up with such great ideas as Cuffed To The Cage & Queen Of The Cage. I'm hopeful we'll see those again this year. Maybe they could even have a HARDCORE cage match. Oh no wait, they already did that. Me with me ''original'' ideas.

"I could also see Beer Money defending their TNA Tag Team Titles to Team 3D in which I could possibly see a title change. "

you mean the other way around right....
TEAM 3D won the belts at the last PPV....

Suicide v Shelley v Sabin -3 way match for the X-division belt

team 3d didnt win at last ppv, countout means u dont lose the titles

suicide v shelly v sabin is a very good idea

sting vs foley

jarrett vs angle

joe, styles, young vs mem apart from angle and sting

Heres a real question. I'm from Philly and my friend goes to Temple and Lockdown is at the Liacouras Center, 3 strenuous walking blocks from his house so me and my friends all plan going. Do you guys think this will be a waste of time or not?
I'm just kidding but I don't really know what to expect because I started getting back into TNA after a 2 year absence but I reap the Impact and PPV results so most of the time I know whats going on. I actually found out it was going to be in Philly the same day that I watched the Sting's Warriors vs. Team Jarret match from 06 and after seeing AJ Styles climb the ladder grab onto the scaffold and proceed to fall onto James Storm who was set up on a ladder I went nuts showed my friends and they went nuts and the AJ Styles legend was born in the eyes of my friends and eye. So then I found out Lockdown was gonna be in Philly and it was set none of us were going to miss this. Then I'll say no less than 2 days later I get on Wrestlezone and read Danny Bonaduce is going to be there and be participating. I've since heard that he may have a stipulation with CCW that may prevent him from wrestling, but are you kidding me? Danny Bonaduce? and this company wonders why they never take off.

TEAM 3D won the belts at the last PPV....

Beer Money retained by count-out. See?

I'm hoping they'll have another MMA-style match. Fuck knows who they'll put in it. Joe's gone pants-on-head ******ed and Kurt's busy being booked like a face.

Otherwise, the cage gimmick soon gets tedious when every last match is in one. Lethal Lockdown matches are never very good. Mostly because they come over as low budget Elimination Chambers. Which they are.

Perhaps TNA will give us an awesome Cage in a Cage match, where two wrestlers will fight out a battle locked inside a smaller cage in the big cage.

Or maybe have a match where say 8 guys fight to be the first 4 guys into the Cage, then these 4 fight to be the first out of the Cage.

Lockdown is shaping up to suck just like a normal TNA event.

Anyways judging from the Eric Young/Danny Bonaduce confrontation video that is on their main site. It looks like that TNA will be giving Eric Young the unfortunate honor of facing Danny Bonaduce at Lockdown which gives me another great reason to not order Lockdown.

This is the show that Mick Foley told me more people were intrested in than WrestleMania. Well, he said this month, so he might have been on about Backlash. Either way he's what the kids might call ane epic fail. No I don't know what it means. I'm 24 for fucks sake. I only found out what lol meant last year. Coincidentally, if you ever see me put a lol in a post, I'm not being literal. I don't lol. I might smirk, but I can't really abbreviate that into something catchy.

SIX SIDES OF STEEL: MAIN EVENT FOR THE TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Hardcore Legend Mick Foley vs. (c) "The Icon" Sting

Sting, I don't get it. Boring now, boring then. Good job Foley will take a big bump. Shame it's in TNA and it won't be impressive. Shame it'll be similar to what he did to Triple H in 1997, shame the match is in a cage.

I have no idea who will win. Hopefully Sting. I like Foley, but he's a fat cunt.

SIX SIDES OF STEEL: THE RETURN OF THE LETHAL LOCKDOWN
Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Booker T, Scott Steiner & Kevin Nash) vs. Team Jarrett (Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe & Christopher Daniels)

Didn't the teams used to have 5 wrestlers? That's what's happen when you fire Petey & Lance Rock. They pad out your undercard so you can put others in this match. Even I know this and I've never booked a wrestling show before. Something I can't help but think makes me more qualified than the TNA staff.

Daniels is making his return so it's only right that he loses. Just like when Booker T made his debut then lost. He then looked totally dejected. Make 'em humble.

SIX SIDES OF STEEL: WORLD TAG TEAM DOMINATION - TITLE VS. TITLE
Team 3D vs. (c) Beer Money, Inc

They should have a gimmick on the card, the gimmick being that it's not a gimmick. Just a regular match./ I can hear the ''This is awesome'' chants now. How come nobody ever starts ''This is average'' chants? Probably because TNA is below average. Epic fail, if you will.

X DIVISION XSCAPE MATCH FOR THE X CHAMPIONSHIP
Black Machismo vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Consequences Creed vs. Kiyoshi vs. (c) Suicide

It was only yesterday when I thought to myself why, do they only have one Xscape match per year. Probably because they're silly and they sell the show. Like King Of The Mountain.

TNA KNOCKOUTS WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP
Taylor Wilde vs. Angelina Love vs. (c) Awesome Kong

Three heels? Daring booking or are they totally unaware? Yeah, I think that as well.

QUEEN OF THE CAGE MATCH
ODB vs. Madison Rayne vs. Daffney vs. Sojo Bolt

There's no fairer suggestion than asking each to take a side, the first two to climb over win. A race instead of a match. Sounds simple to me. It stops what possible injuries that could occure if somebody tried to pull you off. Pull you off the cage that is.

NEW JAPAN JR. TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
The Latin American Xchange vs. No Limit vs. (c) The Motor City Machineguns

It'd be better out of a cage, me thinks anyway.

SIX SIDES OF STEEL: MAIN EVENT FOR THE TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Hardcore Legend Mick Foley vs. (c) "The Icon" Sting

Good match, decent amount of bumps. Cactus Jack replaces Mick Foley, and ultimately comes out as their Heavyweight Champion. What's that tell you? Not even Mick Foley is worthy enough as himself, to win a second-rate Heavyweight Championship. Nice.

Honestly though, I don't think anyone felt that Foley would stink up this match. Oh wait, no, I think I thought that. So I was wrong in many ways. But then again, when you finish your show full of injuries, celebs looking scared, old school ECW pops, and botched finishes.. of course this match is going to look amazing.

I love how they also brag about Sting possibly being the longest reigning T.N.A. Heavyweight Champion, only to turn around and watch him lose. Nice way to try and cover up explaining why Sting lost to Foley in any manner.

So, where do they go from here? Bobby Lashley v. Mick Foley? Man, I seriously hope not. Here's to hoping for Angle v. Foley, with Angle v. Lashley to follow.

SIX SIDES OF STEEL: THE RETURN OF THE LETHAL LOCKDOWN
Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Booker T, Scott Steiner & Kevin Nash) vs. Team Jarrett (Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe & Christopher Daniels)

Worst Lethal Lockdown match to date. Nash should've just been played off in an injury angle, instead of lumbering around the ring awkwardly. Joe could've been held out too, because I'm getting tired of seeing the 80's looking lamp post with a racing decal on his face running around the ring.

The big story was who would Jarrett side with.. less than 5 minutes into Jarrett being into the match, he was beating Steiner upside the head repeatedly with a trash can lid.. and yet the announcer's still aren't sure. :lmao: So later, Jarrett also accidentally hit A.J. Styles, and the biggest part of questioning that was Don West's inability to try and play off Jarrett meaning to do it, with Tenay saying he didn't.

Lashley's return to Pro Wrestling was nice, and the thoughts of Angle/Lashley are even better.. but after we get them at BFG, for the title, (which will likely kill Sting's streak of winning the title each year at BFG) we'll then get 4 months worth of rematches that'll make us hate him even showing up.

As for this match in general.. it blew.

SIX SIDES OF STEEL: WORLD TAG TEAM DOMINATION - TITLE VS. TITLE
Team 3D vs. (c) Beer Money, Inc

Best match of the night, and that's arguably not saying much. Actually, I think I might take that back. Team 3D (Dudleyz) were from around these parts, and they still didn't get near the reaction that Stevie Richards got. Why? Is Dr. Stevie bigger than the 22 time Tag Team Champions (now)?

So instead of allowing Beer Money to make history by winning the I.W.G.P titles, only to then drop the T.N.A titles to the Duds on iMPACT!.. we get Team 3D winning in Philly. Who couldn't see that easily happening? And yet NO flaming tables, either. Double loss in my opinion.

Chamber of Blood Match
Matt Morgan vs. Abyss

I'm so confused with this storyline anymore. Morgan isn't even really involved, and yet he is. The real storyline has turned so much to Abyss and Stevie Richards, and how Abyss won't use weapons.. only for him to less than a minute in, use the cage (weapon) as well as glass. (major weapon) Richards no-shows until Abyss grabs a chair.. apparently by weapon.. he just meant no chair.

The match blew big time. Richards got the loudest pop of the night, even over Foley, Sting and the title change. Richards is T.N.A, apparently. So long story short, Abyss loses because of Richards.. which will now lead us to Morgan being released (I can only hope) and Abyss/Richards in more weapons matches, while Dr. Stevie still tries to help Abyss at the same time.

X DIVISION XSCAPE MATCH FOR THE X CHAMPIONSHIP
Black Machismo vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Consequences Creed vs. Kiyoshi vs. (c) Suicide

I came in toward the end of this match, as in the very end.. to see Kiyoshi attempt (I think) helping Bashir, only for Suicide to win by diving out of the cage onto Kiyoshi and security to retain.

So, is Daniels working double duty now, or is this Kaz finally? Either way, I can't help but wrongfully wish that one day Suicide's hand gun will be accidentally loaded. The gimmick needs to end. I suppose when Kaz finally commits Suicide, the gimmick will get half way over.. then again.. it's Kaz, so maybe not.

TNA KNOCKOUTS WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP
Taylor Wilde vs. Angelina Love vs. (c) Awesome Kong

Fuck yes! Angelina Love for the fucking win! This is the best thing for the Knockout's division in my opinion. Sadly, it looks like Angelina fucked up her neck, or shoulder and will likely have to drop the strap on iMPACT!

She won via Austin/Hart from Summerslam 97.. Wilde didn't know what to do, so she randomly wandered around then fell backwards and allowed Love to cover and win. Kong was tied up in the ropes, via her hair.

I can only hope Kong will go in another direction for the time being, allowing the rest of the Knockout's to have a chance to not be out-sized. Another hopeful idea is for Sky to say because her, Love & Rayne are all in Mi Pi Sexy, that the title can be defended amongst them all.. which would keep the title on one of them, while Love heals.

QUEEN OF THE CAGE MATCH
ODB vs. Madison Rayne vs. Daffney vs. Sojo Bolt

Didn't see the match. I noticed O.D.B's one-night-only boyfriend was out with her though. So either she won, and they continued to celebrate, or he screwed her over.

While I wasn't watching the match, I still heard it slightly. I kinda was in and out, but West was rambling about O.D.B drinking something "that gave her strength" and how that should be checked out. I can't wait for O.D.B to be found out to be on the juice. :lmao:

NEW JAPAN JR. TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
The Latin American Xchange vs. No Limit vs. (c) The Motor City Machineguns

Didn't see the match, except the ending. Can't say the ending surprised me, but I will be watching this match later in hope that the Guns and LAX surprise me.

Overall:
A lot of talk surrounded this Pay per view as being T.N.A's biggest of the year, outside of Bound for Glory. Foley was even boosting this show as being better than Wrestlemania. :wtf: Really? It didn't even out-do No Way Out. Fuck, it barely did better than the Draft from Monday Night Raw.

This was a really disappointing show after they done a good job building it, I thought the draft on Raw last week was a better 3 hour show and that was on free TV.

Sting-Foley - Boring match, I thought they would pull out all the stops and make it somewhat entertaining but nothing really happened and the ending was terrible.

Lethal Lockdown - I normally like these matches, but this was boring apart from AJ's annual spot off the cage, and again the ending of this match was lame, TNA really needs to get their road agents to write better finishes to the matches, there was no drama, excitement, nothing.

Dudleys-Beer Money - This was the only match that came close to living up to the hype, decent match but we've seen these Dudley street fight type matches done better many times before.

Abyss-Morgan - Horrible match, they're really doing all they can to get Morgan over, it's not working, he sucks.

Womens matches - Both were bad, I was expecting the title match to be good but it wasn't, I'm glad Angelina won, but yet another lame ending to that match with no crowd reaction

Tag/X title matches - I was looking forward to these, especially the LAX/Guns match, but they were rushed and felt like your average TNA choreographed "get every guys spot in within the 10 mins we've got" match with no psychology.

This was the first time I've looked forward to a TNA show in a long time and it just didn't deliver, they're was nothing memorable at all on the show.

Tastycles' Lockdown Review

Xscape match

This match was ok, but the eliminations were ill-thought out, and the ending with Suicide's dive was incredibly contrived. I appreciate thatthey want suicide to get over, but he looks ridiculous. If it was just Kaz with a mental breakdown, it would be far more entertaining to watch. This match gave us what it should, so I can't complain too much, but there was a potential for a lot more here. Man of the match: Suicide, the character's crap, but he plays it well. Chump of the match: The bookers. Team work should have made some difference in this one, but it didn't.6.2/10

Queen of the cage

ODB's alcoholsim should be her weakness, instead it is like her spinach. It was a really shit way of having the match change momentum, and the match was very forgettable. There's no need for matches like this on PPVs, and it was poor. Woman of the match: ODB, she was entertaining, I suppose. Chump of the match Cory Deamer, boring and stereotypical. Lame. 4.1/10

Three Way Tornado Tag team

This match was quite entertaining. They did some good spots, and LAX and MCMG showed why they are the best tag teams on TNA. No Limit looked a little out of their depth sometimes, and I do wonder if they are suited to American audiences at all. That being said, I did thoroughly enjoy them in this match too. Man of the match: Hernandez, he was the stand out guy, not just because he's bigger either. Chump of the match: No Limit, because the other two teams were excellent. 8.0/10

Matt Morgan v. Abyss

Mankane is playing the tortured soul quite well, but not as well as Mankind. Or Kane. And this is where the problem lies. Matt Morgan isn't dogshit, but there's nothing of interest to him at all. They have had the same kind of match several times now, and it has never been good. Stevie's appearence set up his TNA debut nicely though, so at least it has that. Man of the match: Stevie Richards for making it end Chump of the match: Matt Morgan. 4.9/10

Angelina Love vs. Taylor Wilde vs. Awesome Kong

This match was one of the best women's matches I've seen in a while, and it shows why in the ring Knockouts are better than the Divas, although as one of the "Beautiful People" looks like a horse with a bleached mane, they had to be good at something. The way to incapacitate Kong was well thought out, and it is a shame that Love's injury made the ending look so shit, but apart from that it was a solid women's match. Man of the match: Velvet SKy for tying Kong's hair, chump of the match: Whoever's fault it was that Wilde concussed Love. 6.8/10

Team 3D vs. Beer Money

This was a match of two halves. The first half was completely shit as it was just some blokes in a crowd that you couldn't really see, whereas the second half was the Dudeys doing what they do best. The Dudleys were always going to win this, but they did make Beer Money look good too, and salvaged what for a while I had pinned down as being the worst match of the night by a long way. Men of the match: Team 3D, as they certainl worked the crowd. Chump of the match: bookers(again), 5 minute crowd brawls are rubbish.5.1/10

Lethal Lockdown

This was quite good, but not as good as it could have been. The match is inherently a bit of a clusterfuck, and Nash was useless as per usual. The big spot with Styles coming through the roof looked poor, but it was a great idea in principle, and Lashley's appearance was quite a good twist. Man of the match: AJ Styles, as ever. Chump of the match: Kevin Nash, TOO OLD, JUST QUIT. 7.1/10

Foley vs. Sting

This match could have been abysmal, but it wasn't that bad. Foley made a good job of being the crazed owner, getting the cameraman to help him, and he and Sting had a much better chemistry than I expected. The match was reasonable to good, and the winner was unexpected. Foley did not take the huge bump I expected him to, but it was still quite good. Man of the match: Mick Foley, chump of the match: nobody 6.5/10

Production and extras

I liked the fact that Lashley debuted, and the move to HD has improved the production value of TNA immensly. A proper song by Smashing Pumpkins helped the show too. However, there are still stupid mistakes, e.g. having "IWGP JR Tag Champions" under Beer Money's name which should be avoidable, and the sooner they learn that Don West is abysmal, the better. This always lets TNA down, but it's getting better. The cage format is a good idea on paper, but it doesn't really come off very well.4.4/10

Overall Score = 53.1/90 (59%)

Which means that my overall enjoyment of Lockdown was slightly more, but similar to that of WrestleMania 25. More than anything else, Lockdown was consistently average, while WrestleMania was severely let down by certain aspects. The best three hours of WrestleMania would have wiped the floor with this.
