The man who thought he had a plan
Although we are still at the stage of first impressions, I have a few opinions on TNA's most recent newcomers.

So far, Raven has done a pretty decent job of furthering the storyline between Dr. Stevie and Abyss, even appearing at random all over the place. I may not be the biggest Raven fan as I am not that much into Hardcore wrestling but I still like what he brings to the table. He is a pretty good storyteller, can be pretty creepy when the situation demands it and I do hope he still has something left in the tank as, obviously, a Raven - Abyss frickin' hardcore match is on the horizon. Clockwork Orange anyone?

And by the way... Am I the only one that's really turned on by the new Daffney?? Her new looks are vurrry nice!

As far as Shane Douglas goes... I liked the guy more than 10 years ago but so far... Oh my... The only thought that comes to mind are tanned forearms. He really screwed up his last tan, poor guy. He was once decent but his match against the Phenomenal One seemed pretty laborious... I'm not convinced he still has anything to bring to TNA but we never know. Maybe it's just serious ring rust...

What can be said about Victoria? She is an amazing wrestler, a very good acquisition for the knockout division, if anything she brings some prestige and a whole lot of wrestling know-how to TNA. She should have a pretty interesting stay in TNA and I hope the other knockouts profit from her presence as she is a veteran star that seems to still have a lot to prove to the wrestling community.

Just wanted your opinion.

I havnt really studied up or heard of shane douglas until tna mobile texted me and told me that this guy is returning. either than that nah dont care to much.

raven- your right hes a great wrestler and promo cutter or whatever hes doing its good enough to be passing as good.. he can do many different things that can improve tna
glad hes back.

as for lisa varon or victoria or tara
ive already seen enough of her when she jobbed to the divas on smackdown, but her tna debut was impressive. and this could give her a chance to improve her career hope she does good

Mr. Kennedy would be pretty good so far but we're gonna have to see. Umaga is useless unless put in a storyline with Joe! Who is still fat and useless!! His new Nation of Violence Pajama bottoms annoying as Hell!!!! Couldn't he stay as the new Samoan Killing Machine, trunks and all? If he still want wanna wrestle as the new trunks-wearing Machine then fine. Otherwise then no!!! Sorry about diverting from the really subject!!!

And Still Nicki is still nice as hell!

I've never really liked Shane Douglas, he just doesn't do much for me. Victoria used to be such a standout of WWE's women's division, God knows why she didn't get any kind of push since like 2004. As for Raven, I'm a huge fan of him, hopefully he can still pull out some good matches (doesn't hurt that he lost some weight after leaving TNA) and I know he's still great on the mic. I'm hoping he sticks around a while, I'm really looking forward to seeing him in action again.

Raven-- Great to see him back.

Victoria/Tara--Good addition to the only womens wrestling on TV

Shane Douglas--Glad he's back, Maybe he can restart the triple threat stable.

I've seen Raven from the clash here in Michigan before his return to TNA he's definitely still got life left in him, but as of right now I was told its possible that this was a one time appearance for him and Shane Douglas, but if not good cause Stevie needs Raven.

As for Shane Douglas I am a big fan of his back in his Triple Threat days with Chris Candido, and yes he has gotten a little larger, but if he did wrestle he needs to update stuff, although his role as a heel manager right now would be a great addition to TNA.

Finally for Victoria or Tara, she became a jobber after a bit kind of like Val Venis was or uh Stevie Richards, but TNA is kinda like a rebirth place to make a jobber a star and she is going to help make the knockouts better wrestlers.

Shane Douglas - Looks like he'll be gone after his Slammiversary match with Daniels, could maybe see him as a manager but i doubt he'll wrestle again after the PPV.

Raven - I'll admit i havn't seen much of Ravens previous stuff but from about a month on TNA i can see this guy would be great for the company, his promos are great and it was really creepy seeing him just sitting there while Daffney annihilated Taylor and Lauren. Hopefully his matches are as good as his promo work.

Daffney - Interesting character and look, could add a new angle to the knockouts division.

Tara - Could fill the void left by Gail Kim, Im sorry but Taylor Wilde jus hasnt cut it and shes nothing since Roxxi left.

Shane Douglas - The man looks like hell and he just does not have that snap in his work any longer. The Belly to Belly suplex he used to use was crushing, a true match finisher. Now it looks like he is shifting a couch. I don't see him doing anything more then putting Daniels over. Maybe he will do some commentary or be a mouthpiece for a stable, but his in ring career should be over.

Raven - No matter what he does, I love his character. I can't wait for the hardcore matches.

Daffney - Great look, but the screaming has to stop. You can be terrifying without hitting glass shattering decibel levels.

Tara (Victoria) - Great performer, will be a staple of the women's division in TNA. Her and Kong should be an interesting feud. I want taylor Wilde to go away. Everything about her is contradictory. I mean, the announcer claims she hails from Canada, but her entrance video is of an american flag...? Tara will definitely add some credibility to that women's title.

Shane Douglas - Prison

Raven - Probably wallow in midcard hell forever, or maybe just leave or make occasional appearances. I certainly laughed hysterically last week when all he did was sit in corners looking all Columbine-y.

Daffney - Hot and awesome. But when she screams, it draws inevitable comparisons with MsChief, not to mention she automatically qualified herself as perfectly sane when she said she was crazy, and basically defined "crazy" the same way everyone else defines "drunk". Hint, Russo: CRAZY PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW, OR DO NOT ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THEY ARE CRAZY.

Tara - Talented female wrestler like Gail Kim and Roxxi Laveaux? I forsee she'll be a manager to some tag team, wrestle a bit with the Knockouts, then probably be released when Creative has nothing else for her.

I love Raven returning to TNA his persona is always one of the most underrated in wrestling history. He can add depth to a saggin Richards Abyss storyline then move on to something else maybe taking a few people under his wing and forming a small stable.

Douglas = fat, overweight, and poorly tanned and also taking time away from someone that deserves it.

Victoria or whateve she is called today is great to see. Taking over where Gail Kim left off and hopefully adding life to the Knockouts. She was lost in WWE after many great years of wrestling she was demoted to jobber. Not one of the WWE Divas could keep up with her.\

I hope TNA doesnt waste Raven or Victorias charaters.

Raven: I have loved his character since the original ECW days & I always thought he was a bit underrated as he never truly got his chance with the big companies. Anyways he can add some much needed depth to the floundering Richards/Abyss/Daphney & others storyline & then after that he can move on to something else, possibly taking a few younger guys under his wing & form the newest edition of Raven's Nest.

Shane Douglas: I loved his stuff when he was in Triple Threat. It's sad that he can't really go in the ring anymore, but hopefully they can use him in either his old role as a backstage interviewer or as a manager for a young guy.

Victoria aka Tara: Great in-ring peformer. I think she can fill the void that was left by Gail Kim. She's gonna be a staple in that division & can help the knockouts get better in the ring. I hope TNA doesn't screw this up.

Let's hope TNA doesn't fuck up Raven & Victoria's characters

i was so excited to see raven come back to TNA... and to be honest wit out him the dr stevie and abiss story line would suck what a curve ball raven has set comin back to TNA!

victoria/tara is a damn good addition to the knockouts divison i can see her doin real well here in TNA she could deffentlt become knockouts champ and hav a lengthy title run and who knos if she ends up goin back to the WWE lata on in life she might finaly get that push she deserved when she was competeing with the WWE divas...

as shane dougles gos i could honestly care less hes deffently not sumone i expected TNA to be big on eh who cares he'll be gone soon anyways

let just hope they dont screw up raven when this dr stevie angle ends maybe he could join up with the front line or even the main event mafia as sum kinda enforcer who helps angle and booker to cheat to win... i could see him joinin the front line and mainevent one of there pay per veiws maybe we could see raven vs sting or even angle hell i would be happy to see him face off against any one in the MEM

:wcw:

Here's my stance on these three

Raven I'm big on him I think he may sign a longer term deal. I think he's got the chops on the mic to stick around, plus he's in better shape now then he was in his last TNA run.

Shane Douglas He'll be gone in a bit. He's out of shape doesnt seem the wanna gte back into it, right now he's more the Fatchise then Franchise.

Victoria She won't beat Angelina Love at Slammiversary, but I think thats a good thing, as AL has earned herself a good run. Trust me though she'll be KO champ soon enough

Shane Douglas: Don't really give a shit, never did. He's doing the same shit he's done for the past 15 years, basically bitching and moaning about how he never made it big because of politics. It's the same argument every other neverwas in wrestling uses. Of course, he'd never remotely admit the possibility of him just not being good enough or being a marketable commodity.

Raven: Another guy I don't really give a shit about. Like Douglas, he's another IWC darling that hasn't really been a force since ECW. And even then, ECW wasn't really a threat to WCW or WWF. Completely overrated, though he certainly gets love in these forums.

Tara: A good addition to the Knockout Division. She's not bad on the eyes and the girl's got skills. It's a shame that Vince doesn't use the WWE Divas to a 10th of their potential. Some of them can wrestle and the ones that can't could learn. TNA's women's division is one of the few areas I'll unquestionably agree is better than the WWE.

Overall, TNA is just doing more of the same with Douglas and Raven. One is a middle age, out of shape neverwas that blames the industry as a whole for why he didn't achieve the legendary status he thinks he deserves and the other is a middle age, overrated amalgam of just about every "tortured soul" lead singer of a grunge band.

Shane Douglas: best thing about him was watching ECW and hearing the fans yell "Where's your skateboard"

Raven: I really like this "role reversal" angle they are doing here where now Raven is Dr. Stevie's lackey unlike in ECW.

Tara: Adds class and talent to a division that suffered when Gail Kim left for WWE and Roxxi got wrongly fired!!! But her tarantula shirt with "TARA RISING" (referring back to an old HHH angle in WCW called "TERRA RIZIN". I'm afraid that the angle / gimmick will frustrate herto the point of not seeing her true potential

And by the way... Am I the only one that's really turned on by the new Daffney?? Her new looks are vurrry nice!

I too cant get enough of Daffney, she is sooo god damn fit.

Im actually looking forward to Sarita's debut, from what ive read she's a high flyer, and it'll be interesting to see what she brings to the table.

And also now Cheeleader Melissa is making more appearances to see what they do with the "Raisha Saeed" character.
