Houston has been able to play good for stretches without T Mac, Yao, or both, but I just don't see them winning many games this year. Yao's gone for the year and T Mac will be lucky to play 50 games. When Luis Scola is your best front court player that isn't a good sign at all.

Portland on the other hand has a chance to be very good. However, they really need to start Andre Miller. Steve Blake is good, but he's better coming off the bench as an energy guy who can knock down some threes. He isn't a true point guard. Starting Miller will allow the offense to run much smoother.

I completely agree.

Ariza just isn't half the player Ron Artest is, and that's what is going to kill Houston this year. All Ariza can do is shoot wide open threes, and he won't get them like he did in LA.

Rockets aren't going to be able to do much without McGrady. People are expecting Ariza to be that kind of impact player but he just isn't. He is a role player and he was good on the Lakers only because he was surrounded by people like Bryant, Gasol, Fisher, and Bynum.

When McGrady comes back, Ariza will play better and you will see the whole dynamic of the team shift.

Whats wrong with Scola? Rockets will play hard every night but just wont have the offensive polish to win that many games. UNless T Mac cmes back early as the T Mac of old.

Will be following them as long as Aussie Andersen is getting a run.

As for the Blazers good young team. Will also hold my interest because of Patrick Mills.
