from conception to posting how long does it take you to do an RP?

Sit Upon The Frozen Heavens
Just curiosity on my part really.

Before I didn't even start thinking about it until the board went up and then I would mull it over a few days before i even start typing. With my procrastination this would lead me to being one of the last to post (if I even bothered).

This time around it's completely different. As of this moment i already have my entire RP outlined and the only thing keeping me from doing it before the boards are even up is the fact i don't know who my opponent is yet. It should only take me a couple days after they do get put up barring reality shoving it's foot up my ass like it seems to to enjoy doing when i least expect it to.

And for those interested in the reason why after reading that I'll tell you (although I may have mentioned it before). This time I actually thought out where I wanted to go with this character. I used the 5 RPs in the random RP thread to slowly feel out where I might want to go and it snowballed to the point I'll have fresh ideas for a long time. And on a personal note that goes WI this particular topic I don't have the baggage in my life that I did the last few times I was in the fed. My head is clear and I can enjoy it like it should be.

My entire style is based off what the people like/dislike about the previous round's RP, and for that reason I tend to not have a care in the world what I'd be writing about until at least the shows go up. A bit over halfway through my last run here, Jammy told me people had their full of the whole M schtick, so everything got thrown out the window and I went to the moon to fight a parody of myself. That's a bit of an example of how I go through my thought process. Basically, I usually have zero idea what I'm gonna do, then an idea zaps itself into my brain and I take a minute or two thinking about it to make sure it isn't offensively bad. From there absolutely nothing happens idea-wise until i sit down for two or three hours writing whatever filler pops into my head to make it so the RP isn't too short/boring/disconnected from reality, and boom there's the RP.

Time actually doing stuff - 3 and a bit hours. Time between conception and posting - anywhere between the above time and from when the boards open until I post it. There's been one exception so far, but that was one crazy brainwave where I came up with the entire RP almost word for word too fast for me to write it down.

It depends really.

Some RP's I don't plan out and just write whatever the hell comes to mind. For those it takes roughly an hour to an hour and a half. Those are your typical Ty Burna monologue promos.

If I'm doing storyline purposes, I have a fluid framework in place for the story I'm telling my RP's, and that's probably been concocted in about 2 hours of thinking on it for roughly the last 6 or 7 rounds of RPs I've done to this point. Those RP's I have a generally vague idea thought up and then I let my mind take over from there while I'm writing in character. Rough estimate let's say 2 hours a piece for those?

On average probably around 4 hours?

1 hour brainstorming and forming an outline
1 hour writing the draft
1 hour revising and/or proofreading
1 hour formatting and video selection

It varies from round to round but this is somewhere around what it comes down to. Video selection is sometimes done during outlining and sometimes at the end.

Mine depends as I get ideas throughout the week, I hone the idea down a bit and write the second last day.
I also do a bit of research now Titus is heel into certain things so that can add an hour or so.

I think of ideas while I'm at work during the week, then (the last RP anyway) I'll start writing on Saturday night...night time is always a much better time to write anything, less distractions. Once the insanity begins then ideas start coming in while I write.

Depends on how many ideas I come up with during the week. Typically it takes about 90 minutes for me to get everything in order and write my RP, but that can vary based on how many ideas I have and how much time I have before the deadline.

I'm always thinking of what my next RP will be, and organizing how it will play out. Then I sit and write it all in one session as a post, including all formatting, and PM it to myself. I review it the next night, make any edits, and post. I don't think I've spent less than 2 hours writing one yet, and the last one took over 6. That was mostly moving stuff around, re-reading it 50 times, and making sure I didn't leave any plot holes.

Right after I RP I think about what to write next. Sometimes I'll jot a few shorthand notes, scratch a few in or out, then I come back to it around deadline time. Usually takes thirty/fourty-five minutes max to write an RP.

From 15 minutes (that was my last RP) to up to 3-4 hours (during the time when I was running with the Gold Rush angle last year). I usually have a plot ready to go most time; however, this time, apart from Titus RP, I have done my RPs on mostly the deadline day. This round onwards I want to be better, so I am planning ahead of time.
