Fourtune's Takeover?

As we've seen, Eric Bischoff has been pressuring AJ Styles the last month about his current losing streak and how he must win the TNA Wolrd Television Championship back. As previously said, he needs them to maintain leverage to keep Dixie Carter from regaining TNA. Now notice a few details heading into the ever important Genesis PPV:

1) Aside from Jeff Hardy, Fourtune are the only Immortal members challening for the other championships.

2) When Eric Bischoff scolded AJ Styles on Impact this week, Ric Flair really didn't seem interested in getting involved.

C) Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan are the only guys in danger by Dixie's injuction. Ric Flair and Fourtune joined after the unveiling of "They".

The question is simple. If AJ Styles turns face, will Fortune follow suit? Or is it just a tease? After all, they might be the one's holding most of the power. Part of what makes me believe it will happen, is TNA's annual Lockdown event. Home to Lethal Lockdown. And ignoring the Fourtune vs Immortal Lethal Lockdown is a bit too much to pass up even though in essence, it was done last year. The elements have changed and in my book these are far more established than last year which would bring more attention to the event and matchup. While I don't want to toss aside Lockdown as the night Anderson dethrowns Jeff Hardy, there's no reason to pass up Fourtune taking the fight to the rest of Immortal. It would give it a feel much more similar to the day's of NWO VS WCW in War Games matches.

Your opinion please.

There is no doubt that Flair will eventually be running TNA, which was his objective all along. Flair knows to keep his friends close and his enemies closer, which is why he befriended Immortal. Remember we are talking about "the dirtiest player in the game". This thing with Bishoff decreeing that AJ has to leave Fortune if he looses to Williams will set the whole thing up. I think AJ will loose to Williams and Flair will demand that AJ stays in Fortune. Bishoff has no business telling Flair how to run Fortune and who should be in it. When you look at Immortal all they have is Hardy and Jarrett plus a couple jobber security guards, Bishoff who doesn't want his pretty face smashed and Hogan who can barely walk. As far as Abyss goes, hes easily manipulated and Flair can convince him to support Fortune. No doubt Fortune can wreak havoc on Immortal, even if Abyss is part of it, and hardly break a sweat. Dixie will put up with Flair, even though she hates him, to try to gain back ownership of the company from Hogan and Bishoff. Damn, I ought to be a booker, LOL.

I'd say it comes down to whether immortal or in particular fortune wins the titles. If they do win the titles, I cannot see any way that they couls turn face themselves after displacing the former face champions from the titles. It would also ruin the chance of any run-on feuds from Genesis because they would all be face v face matches which is currently not a part of the programme plans with a mega-heel faction in power.

So that is the first precedent, that fortune don't win at least all of the titles, preferably none of them otherwise it is very unlikely. Secondly we have to consider the position it would then leave TNA in as a heel/face balanced show and whether the fortune guys could adapt to being faces so quickly, some of whom have become very used to the heel tendancies like kaz for instance. It would mean that you would have all the guys who already dislike fortune like RVD, Morgan, Anderson as well as fortune themselves against fortune and the few other heels the show has like Robbie E for example.

That sounds unfeasible unless there is a double turn and some already face guys turn heel and join with immortal, say for instance doug williams double bluffs us and jumps ship again or say RVD just sold out. Either way there would have to be replacement faces because Immortal would not be left with enough talent to exist unless there was a two-way transition.

Weighing everything up, it would seem unlikely I'm afraid. See here's what I think about your first point. Fortune holds most of the fighters and most of the talent for immortal so it makes sense that these would be the guys going for the titles, so it's pure coincidence based on fortune's stars for me. I think for number 2 that Ric Flair even though his character is very much in favour of AJ is trying to be hardline and live up to his role as temporary second in command to Bischoff.

Your third point is what makes the entire arguement that you've constructed feasible but it isn't immediately obvious. Mind you that would be a good reason to use it in a storyline angle but I'm sorry I'm just gonna ahve to be safe on this one and go with the obvious option. I think AJ will lose and turn face and the rest of the cards will stay as they are. After all, Fortune can always get someone else to chase the T.V. title like Rob Terry who has already technically held it before.

See the problem is that Immortal just aren't scaryu enough without fortune's cocky attitude. they have a waster jeff hardy who cheats to win, a guy who thinks he's a mixed martial arts fighter, and two big monsters, neither of which are really good wrestlers so unless TNA want the immortal angle to lose it's credability prematurely then I think the best choice will be for fortune to stay where the money is. I actually think the most interesting scenario would be for AJ to win the title and stay in immortal. He could pull a 1996 sting angle and go on about how Bischoff didn't have faith in him and leave Fortune and Immortal anyway of his own accord. It would turn AJ face, AND give him the title at the same time as well as being a different angle than were used to.

If they do this then they will need to add more members to Immortal. I wouldn't miind seeing this feud but Immortal will need more memebers so they can still look dominate because Jeff Hardy, Rob Terry, Abyss, and Jeff Jarrett don't look like a dominant stable by themselves. I would like to see them add Generation Me and then a mid card superstar like Desmond Wolfe. There you have it at Lockdown. You could have Williams and Morgan rejoin Fortune when they turn face and have these matches,
Lethal Lockdown:GenMe, JJ, Desmond Wolfe, Abyss vs Beer Money, Kaz, Williams, and Morgan.
Then the main event could be AJ Styles vs Jeff Hardy for the World title as I think they could put on an amazing match.
Hell, they could even throw a swerve and add Foley to Immortal because I would like to see Flair and Foley go at in a cage. They can actually put on some good matches together at there age as long as they are hardcore matches because they both take a lot of painful bumps in these matches.

Fortune only cares about Fortune. Joining Immortal was the easiest way to gain power without having anyone challenge you. With HH in legal hell as far as the storyline goes Flair is able to talk Bischoff into letting his boys gain the power Immortal needs to trump Dixie. Bischoff isn't stupid though, he knows as long as the world champ is under his direct control he has the true power in TNA. Its not going to happen anytime soon (April -June at the earliest hopefully) but Flair is working on one hell of a screw job Hogan and Bischoff have receipts for Flair that he will collect..and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

Beer Money is questionable... They could possibly turn face along with AJ...

Kaz, on the other hand... He has shown more charisma and confidence in the last few weeks than he has in years... He seems to be a natural heel... He should stay with Immortal...

Maybe have Morgan rejoin Fortune to take his place... But that may derail his main Event push... But, AJ should be the main guy...

Another option is to bring is the OMEGA guys... Matt, Helms, and have Moore turn on Neal... Have them align with Immortal and there would be no problem turning fourtune...

It just really looks like the story is being set up for an AJ solo run as the face he once was...

Not sure where that leaes Fourtune... How do you replace AJ Styles?

I have seen it for a while. Fourtune was built to be for TNA what the Horsemen were for Crockett Promotions. Problem was that AJ was still getting use to being a heel, Kaz was a face, and Beer Money were tweeners. These guys were too much of a hodge podge even with Flair to be that type of group meaning it would take time to let it fizzle.

Now, a few months later AJ has embraced the heel and is out of the robe, Kaz looks like he has a personality, Beer Money are still as badass as they ever were, and they are all wearing similar ring attire as Fourtune. Things are coming together for the group.

I could see this happen, Kaz Wins, Beer Money win, AJ drops the match only to challenge Jeff Hardy for Title vs Career with Fourtune helping AJ win the Championship which would be Fourtune screwing over Immortal. Thus Fortune beginning their roll over everyone in TNA much like the Horsemen and Crockett Promotions.

If only Flair could turn Kaz into Tully Blanchard we would be all set.

I have no idea how it is all going to play out, and TNA is so erratic it's almost impossible to see even a week ahead of time. However, I do think A.J. is heading towards a face turn.

Do I think Flair will follow suit? Probably not. Hogan and Bischoff in a non-kayfabe sense are more than likely nowhere near ready to blow up this faction. Losing Fourtune would really limit the power of Immortal, so I doubt it will be booked that way.

A.J. will have no problem on his own. But what will his role be after he leaves Fourtune (if he actually does)? TNA seems to have three guys ahead of A.J. in terms of challenging Jeff Hardy (Anderson, RVD and Morgan). A.J. might have to feud with Kaz, Jarrett or Abyss before getting to Hardy, and being stuck in the mid-card like that might take some steam away from his face turn. I would love to see him immediately feud with Hardy, but I don't know if that can happen.

A.J. is stuck in the mid-card right now, and I'm not so sure Bischoff and Hogan believe he needs to be elevated. I think he's the best guy they have, but I'm guessing Eazy-E and The Hulkster believe he just isn't a draw. Only time will tell, I guess.

Have a feeling this will just turn into a NWO vs. NWO Wolfpac storyline all over again with Fortune feuding with Immortal over power and control of TNA. We will just have to wait and see what does happen though.

I do not think that Fourtune will turn face along with AJ Styles. At the end of the day AJ is just a pawn in Fourtune. I think Foutune's aspirations are greater than just being AJ's support cast. Its true that all Fourtune members have got a title shot in their hands but that has only happened because Fourtune are a part of Immortal. I do believe Fourtune's ultimate aim is to wrest the control of the company from Hogan's hands. For that they need to win Hogan's trust and for that they need to stay in Immortal for a while.

I think if AJ does turn though he might try to reveal some of Fourtune's secrets, especially the plans for Fourtune's eventual takeover. That will cause some tension between Hogan and Flair. This is where I see the storyline progressing rather than Fourtune turning along with Styles.

I personally think Fortune and Immortal are going to be splitting ways, but it's going to be Immortals doing.

Going back to the points where Flair and Fortune joined Immortal for a share of power. I think Bischoff either has sniffed out plans for an ultimate take over, or is tired of Fortune using the Immortal name to shield themselves.

Here is what I see happening:

During the Lethal vs Kaz match- either Lethal retains. 1 of two things happen. 1, Lethal cheats to win. Everyone gets confused... but we'll get answers to that later. 2, Lethal wins clean. And while Kaz looks confused, Tommy Mercer comes out and destroys Lethal.

Beer Money vs Motor City- Motor City retains after Ink Inc comes out and lays out both teams, setting up 3 team possibly 4 team (when you include Gen Me and London Brawling) gimmick matche at Against ALL Odds.

Matt Hardy debuts as RVD's opponent. Wins when Jeff comes out and interferes. Matt does a twist of fate on RVD on a chair ( like wrestlemania 25) and Jeff swantons him.... setting up a Hardy Boys vs RVD and winner of the Morgan Anderson match at Against All Odds.

Then Aj vs doug is where everything comes together- AJ loses to Doug after Fortunes interference is counterbalanced by a returning Desmond Wolfe (since the cut his return out of the Impact viewing-lame) and Brutus Magnus. With all the crazy shit happening outside the ring... Doug Caos Theories AJ for the win.

British Invasion celebrates and exits the Impact Zone, while Bischoff comes down and publicly dresses down AJ. He then finishes up with telling Fortune to take him out.

Fortune tells him that they can't. That they are a unit and they won't do that.

Bischoff says he expected that and so he came prepared. Out comes Red and Mercer, Ink Inc, Both the Hardy's and Abyss. Huge brawl takes place ending the Fortune Immortal relationship.

Now the funniest thing to come from all this is that once again TNA will be cock blocking it's mainevent which I expect will be Anderson Morgan.

After all that awesome takes place, Anderson gets to go out and try and carry Morgan to a mainevent that doesn't suck.

All that said, I love TNA.
