For which high-impact move did you mark out the most?

Born To Fly

Occasional Pre-Show
After watching Raw tonight and seeing Randy Orton nail Evan Bourne with the RKO when Evan attempted Air Bourne, I thought this would be the perfect thread to start.

For what high-impact move (finishers, reversals, etc.) did/have you mark(ed) out the most?

For me, one comes to mind — Shawn Michaels catching Shelton Benjamin with a Superkick off the springboard. That crowd reaction was insane and every time I watch it on YouTube, I can't get enough of it.

What about you?

shawn michaels catching shelton benjamin... he got all of it and it just looked brutal... Orton catching Evan Bourne was awesome and reminiscent of it, but he just didn't seem to get all of it (not that i blame him, its damn near impossible), but that does give the edge to the HBK kick. Believe me though, Orton catching Bourne is a VERY close second

I agree the Michaels superkick on Benjamin was and is the sickest high-impact move. The second one was the Michaels superkick on Mysterio on Smackdown a couple of months ago. But that Orton RKO did look great. I think if he would have gotten him a little higher, it would have made it more better.

But hands down Michaels superkick on Benjamin did it for me.

that was one epic RKO!! I've re-watched it about 20 times now, posted it on my facebook and my youtube channel....of course, I'm a huge Orton fan anyway, but I was yelling my butt off and waking up my kids when he hit that RKO...I think the best part about it was it truly was viper-like...he didn't even really stand up, he just seemed to jump from his back... It was truly awesome...

There was a match between Rey and Jericho a year or two ago during their feud, and Rey came off the ropes and WHAM! Codebreaker! Jericho really looked like he connected with his knees on the hit. I think one happened at The Bash and the another happened on a New Year's Beat the Clock match.

For your viewing pleasure (notice how Rey doesn't get his feet down to absorb the impact) :

I am going to have to say I have never marked out when seeing a high impact move, except for the RKO tonight against Evan Bourne.

Both BOurne and Orton are my two favorite WWE superstars and I have loved the way they have worked together for the past couple of weeks. I would have never imagined that Randy could pull off an RKO after a SSP, but WOW. I do agree that if he caught him higher it would have looked better, but it was still freaking amazing.

R we talkin just wwe or can I pick tna also?if its just wwe I'm goin with hbk's superkick on shelton if I can use tna then I'm goin with jeff hardy's swanton off da stage in that monster's ball match a few years ago

This is why Orton is so good in the ring: His agility.

Kudos to Evan Bourne also, because he had to do all the hard work and land perfectly so Orton could hit that.

If we are talking about high-impact moves I think I can open a Shane Mcmahon Library here but I'll refrain and I'll go for the
Shooting Star Press by Brock Lesnar at WM19.

I know I know, he botched it but that made me mark out even more because I thought for sure he was dead!!
He is on my list of best of all time and to see him (try) and pull off a Shooting Star Press was unbelievable.

Honourable Mentions

5. Kurt Angle's Moonsault from top of the cage.

4. Randy Orton's RKO on Carlito during a Top-Rope Springboard Clothesline by the latter.

3. Edge's Spear on a dangling Jeff Hardy at TLC II

2. Brock's suplex on the Big Show resulting in the infamous ring collapse

1. And last but not least, Mick Foley being thrown off the top of the Cell. Nothing will ever beat that!

I have to go with Kurt Angles moonsault from the top of the cage at Lethal Lockdown that was completely insane. Also Jeff Hardys swanton bomb from the biggest ladder I've ever seen onto cm punk through the announcers table that was crazy. Those are the two freshest moments in recent memory.

The Code Breaker onto Rey(like mentioned before). The superKick on REY and Shelton. The Spear by Edge on Jeff dangling(i think this is my Favorite). The leg drop on Edge by Jeff at WM23 abosutely sick. Whisper in the wind by Jeff on Umagu(RIP) inside a steel cage. and the SSP into the RKO on RAW Crazy

I marked out like crazy when Tommy Dreamer gave RVD a piledriver at November to Remember and RVD bounced like 3 feet in the air off of his head. Sick.

Some of the high impact moves I would saylike Edge spearing Jeff Hardy off the belts thing at WM17 I have only seen by the DVDs and Youtube since I wasn't a fan until 2004. I watched all those back knowing what would happen but just so I could see it. So I will only count ones I have seen as they've happened since I have been watching wrestling

So I would have to say Shawn Michaels superkick on Shelton Benjamin as he was landing in 2005

My personal favourite would have to be when Mickie James hit an adapted version of her DDT onto Beth Phoenix that caught the entire crowd by surprise. Phoenix went for a side slam to which Mickie countered by wrapping a 360 around Beth, slamming her into the mat. This was done perfectly due to the strength of Phoenix being able to support that type of weight and Mickie James for using the initial momentum from the Irish Whip to wrap around, despite the added poundage. The way Beth crashed to the mat looked like Mickie legit snapped her neck, but the selling afterward showed she was okay.

Other than that, I'd have to say the DDT Sabu did to Rey Mysterio, Jr at the ECW One Night Stand when they competed for the World Heavyweight Championship. They didn't want Rey or Sabu to lose, so they decided to book this huge and devastating move to end the match in a double knockout. There was a table on the outside set-up and Rey was somehow standing on the table out of it. Sabu did that double jump onto the top ropes using a steel chair and fly onto Mysterio, snapping back to hit the DDT (more like a Tornado DDT without the spinning). Knowing full well of Sabu's ability to botch, seeing that being well-executed made me cringe. I've never seen anything so hardcore that beautiful.

What about that freakish spike pile driver that ended shawn michaels career... after kicking out of one tombstone hbk was barly hanging on, at this point we all knew it was over. That's when hbk smack the shit out of the undertaker, that's when undertaker actually jump up about two feet for another tombstpne. Me and my bros basically screamed cause the move was so impactful. Nice spike tombstone...

jericho reversing an off the top rope hurricanrana into a lion tamer on rey mysterio in wcw. i marked out like a mofo. seems like forever ago, geez louise.

also orton running in and catchin rey mysterios 619 into an rko while he was spring boarding

I honestly thought that Scotty Anton was dead after that one.

in all honesty both tonight's RKO, and the HBK super kicks as good as they were, are nothing both height, and impact wise to Mankind falling off the Hell in a Cell, as well as threw it after that. there was not one person watching that, be it at home, in the arena, hell even the guys in the back, who wondered if Foley was seriously injured. Kudos to Undertaker for staying in character the whole time. when they showed the camera in his face right after, and you saw his tooth in his nose, you knew how deadly that actually was. to you younger fans, i highly suggest going to Youtube, or wherever, and watching highlights from that match.

I loved the SSP into the RKO, he didn't get all of it but it would've been difficuilt to anyway. The Edge/Jericho Steel Cage match had an insane spot in when Edge was sat on the top rope and Jericho did a Springboard Codebreaker. The Carlito Springboard into the RKO was insane as well. Watched a video other day where Bourne, on one leg, does the SSP onto Christian off the ladder. Jeff doing his leapfrog legdrop onto Matt at last years Backlash with Matt tied to the table was pretty insane. The Edge spear on Jeff as he dangled on the Tag Titles was an insane spot as well. The HBK Superkicks in mid air on both Benjamin and earlier this year Mysterio was just unreal though.

This may not be the biggest moment but I was in the crowd for it so I went absolutely apeshit. The smackdown just before last years royal rumble when rey was goin for the west coast pop and hbk caught him flush with sweet chin music it looked brutal. Without a doubt one of the coolest things Ive seen in person and the only other moment that could top it was when cena hit that attitude adjustment on batista and put him through the stage. It happend prolly 30feet from me. Me and my friends are all huge cena haters but we still went nuts. Cena earned a little respect from me after that moment because it was just so freakin cool.

I have to say i marked out hard for the what they are calling it the "Shooting StaRKO" I thought that was the coolest shit ive seen in a long ime...thelast time i marked out hard was for superkick to benjamin..the only reason i marked out harder for the Shooting StarKO was it was unexpected like i def thought at first Evan would botch cause he was in the middle of the ring and last timesomeone tried a SSP to the middle of the ring he damn near killed himself...But damnit happened so quick if you blinked you missed it...the crowd went ape shit like thier reaction made that move priceless i havent seen someone mark out like that since austin took the zambonie to the ring and fought vinnie mac....witht he super kick i kimda saw it coming like you knew he would do something but like i said last night totally unexpected

I remember I was with a few of my friends who were fans of the AE, and when Bourne was going to the rope I was like by's watch this he does a sick SSP! Then BAM Orton RKO's him from it! It was sick, me buddy was like "did he just fucking RKO him from that ?" Def the best thing I seen in a while.

After last night the RKO to Bourne has moved to the top of my list as the sickiest high impact move I have seen in a while. The SCM to Benjamin was amazing, but Michaels' had done it before. The codebreaker to Mysterio was good, but not good enough to still overtake the RKO we witnessed last night. I replayed it so many times, it was awesome.

im gonna have to go for benjamins fall off the ladder at wm 24 when carlito and mr kennedy pushed him off the top of the ladder onto another ladder in which he broke in half, this is one of my favorites because we all saw it coming but when it happened it just looked so brutal and even carlito was shocked at the outcome, if you havent seen it heres a link to it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atNg3m7KxX4&feature=related

I would have to say HBK super kick to Shelton in mid air. Man I was gonna shit my pants. The crowd went crazy for that.

RKO to Bourne was good too, but it didn't get a HUGEEEEEEEE reaction from the crowd like HBK's super kick.

Honorable mention to:
Edge spear to Jeff Hardy from the ladder in mid air.

3. Superkick to Shelton-Wasn't a fan when this happened, but it was a very good move. Looked a little bit to planned, but whatever.

2. Mankind falling off the HIAC-I have an Undertaker DVD with this on it, and when I first saw it, I thought Mankind was dead. Seriously dead.

1. Bourne SSP into RKO-I was marking out for 5 minutes. Coolest thing I've seen in any wrestling ever.
