For Better Or Worse

With Monty Brown making his ECW debut last night, I was wondering what everyone thought of wrestler's changing promotion's. When WCW, ECW and WWE were the three main brand's there were always wrestler's leaving for different promotion's.

I was wondering who people thought had made a good or bad career decision to move promotion's. All must be volentarily, if you're fired you have'nt made the choice to move yourself. And ther like's of Goldberg, Booker T and Scott Steiner dont count because at the time there was nowhere to really go.

For The Better

From WCW To WWF

Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero.

I'm in no doubt that Eddie Guerrero would have never been WCW champion. Chris Jericho might have been WCW champ but it would have been as unspectacular as his WWF, and he would'nt have got the rub of wrestler's like Steve Austin, The Rock and Angle. Benoit might have won the world title but at the time that title meant nothing. In the end he won the WWE World Title at the biggest P.P.V. since Wrestle Mania 1.

From WWF To WCW

Scott Hall and Kevin Nash

Forget Hogan these two were what the n.W.o. was all about. They were star's in WWF but they were superstar's in WCW.

ECW To WWF

Steve Austin

He might have only gone to ECW because he was fired by WCW, but he showed what he could really do in the short space of time he was there. He went to WWF and got stuck with the awful Ringmaster gimmick. Fortunatley he got past that and went on to become the biggest superstar of the past decade.

For Worse

WCW To WWF

Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn

They were bing underutalised in WCW but it went from bat to worse in WWF. Dean Malenko was one of the greatest technical wrestler's of the past decade. When he went to WWF he was given a James Bond gimmick and stuck on Heat. Nobody even noticed when he retired. And Perry Saturn was given a mop as a friend, enough said.

ECW To WCW

Raven

After been stuck with the Scotty Flamingo gimmick in WWF he went away and reinvented himself. He came back with one of the best gimmick's ever. He could have been huge in WCW given the oppertunity.

Yeah i agree with all the examples u said. This is a tough one becouse most of the wrestlers has been with either 2 or 3 of the promotioons mentioned. I dont know whether the like of HHH and Mean Mark Calloway were released from WCW or made the jump. I would imagine tht they were probably released from WCW. And would you include TNA or would you include TNA in about a year or 2 dwn the line. If you were including TNA then i would say Christian made a good decision on his own part to leave WWE, might not be for as much money but he is a 2 time TNA heavyweight champ, sometihing i dont think would happen in WWE.

I actually think that Christian would have become champ. I think he probably would have take King Booker's spot had he not left. Smackdown is more experimental with there champ's than Raw. If you think about it Booker, Rey and J.B.L. would never be Heavyweight Champ's on Raw because of the like's of Triple H and Cena always being in the main event. So in my opinion Christian has'nt nessicarily made a wrong move by joining T.N.A. but I think it would have benefitted him to stay in WWE.

those are good examples, so i will not repeat them. i will try to add to it

first that comes to mind isBig Bossmans move from WCW to WWF in '98.
after being successful in WWF in the late 80's early 90's, he jumped to WCW and had shit for luck there...The Guardian Angel, Big Bubba in the nWo, and then finally under his real name Ray Traylor...he became a glorified jobber for the most part and his career was all but washed up and forgotten about...he jumps back to WWF and what do you know, he is thrust right into the Austin- McMahon fued as Vince's bodyguard, was a charter member of The Corporation, won the Tag titles with Ken Shamrock, held the hardcore title, and even got to fued with Big Show for the WWF world title. His legacy was solidified...he could possibly be in line for the WWE Hall of Fame...if it wasnt for his last jump back to WWF, he wouldve been just another gimmick, imo

That's exactly what I've thought since Christian jumped. He was getting a lot of support from the crowd, and he had feuded with Batista. He was inline to be the champ sometime in either 2006 or 2007, but he left so he could be the champ right away in a smaller promotion. It was a pretty good move, but he probably would've been better off staying in the WWE.

I think Christian to TNA was a great move, i think he is a more suited champion for TNA as i could see him having to face off against no talent bodybuilders that WWE likes to hire and he is better suited defending against people more his size and build like sting and jarrett.

A pretty bad move IMO was mike awesome to WCW, ruined his credibility completely with Fat Chick thriller and That 70's Guy.

Sabu to ECW (from TNA) i love sabu's in ring even when not using loads of weapons and i think he was a on a better stage in TNA than the current ECW to showcase his talents.

I think a move that is borderline Good/Bad was Jeff jarrett from WWF to WCW......discuss, there is so many bad and good points about it.

Most of the good ones I can think of have already been listed so I'll just go with the bad that haven't been listed:

-Bret Hart from WWF to WCW- He was never really utilized there as they didn't even really have a plan for him, the only reason he was signed was to stick it to the WWF.
-Psycho Sid from WWF to WCW- Same thing I don't think they really had any plans for him they just wanted to buy up as much WWF talent as possible.
-Jim Neidhart and Davey Boy Smith from WWF to WCW- Only signed because Bret Hart left WWF but these guys were so underutilized it was pathetic. At this point WCW had too much talent and not enough things to do with them.
-Ahmed Johnson from WWF to WCW- Same thing never used

-Shane Douglas from ECW to WWF- I think this guy probably would have been big eventually (he probably would have won the world title) but because of the clique's booking power in 1995 this guy was held down.
