Foley back to WWE?

Occasional Pre-Show
I don't follow TNA but I'm pretty sure Mick Foley's contract expires soon and that he is yet to re-sign. I follow him on twitter and he tweeted about wanting to appear on Raw for the Rock's birthday. A lot of his recent tweets have mentioned WWE and WWE wrestlers, and all of them positive.

So, does anyone think a return could be on the cards? What is the deal with his TNA contract? Would you want to see Mick back in WWE?

The other thing is that WWE and Mick are still on good terms. Remember when they big-upped his book? That was awesome!

Foley = anonymous GM

I would cry. Not even kidding, that would be the absolute best thing they could do. A real mark out moment and a great way to introduce him again.

Of course, Foley is my favorite wrestler of all time, so I may be biased.

Think of the spammy comments we would get from TNA fans if it was him that was GM:

Ha! You see! Even a TNA superstar has more control of the WWE than Vince McMahon does...

Shut the fuck up.

Just because you like to suck up to Vince McMahon.

Dave said:

Sorry, I got a little carried away. First point still stands.

So he'll either be the Network guy or the Raw GM? What the hell?

If he kills that abysmal computer angle and Michael Cole, I am so there.

Still think JBL fits as the RAW GM, but Foley would more than do. He hasn't been on TV for a good while and I don't see any reason why he'd resign with TNA.

When I saw this thread I immediately thought of Mick coming back as the anonymous GM, then saw that others had thought the same!

It would be awesome, Mick Foley was a legendary commisioner

foley as the gm would be great, or even a sequel to "rock this is your birthday." When is the rocks birthday?

Foley as the RAW GM would make absolutely no sense.
A completely counterintuitive notion that would generate months of poorly written criticism if it happened in TNA.

Very true. It wouldn't make any sense. I hope to see Foley have some sort of role within the WWE, but not as the anonymous GM.

Nobody makes sense as the RAW Anonymous GM. It's obvious at this point that they started the angle because they had nobody they could use and now they've written themselves up against a wall. We can only accept that it's either going to end in a totally illogical manner (revealing Foley, Cole, or anyone as the anonymous GM) or it's going to be logical but with no payoff, like having Vince announce that he fired the anonymous GM and that he hired (x) to replace him.

Foley makes a lot more sense than a plethora of other talent I've seen suggested for the Role. Look at what established facts we know of the GM:

-Makes both heel and face decisions on a whim
-Disguises his identity by using other wrestlers catch phrases
-Has a problem with Brett Hart
-Has a suggested antagonostic relationship with the Rock

Foley slips nicely into every single one of those points apart from the 'not liking Bret Hart' thing, which I am sure if a plot development which WWE will totally ignore by this point anyway no matter who is revealed as the GM.

The GM makes both heel and face decisions, it could be argued that this Foley with his multiple personalties coming into play, one did Mick is making sure Cena has a fighting chance agaisnt Nexus, the next Cactus Jack is forcing him to work for the Nexus, etc.

As for the Rock, the darker sides of Mick's personalty wouldn't be happy with the Rock coming back and taking over what he now thinks of as 'his' show, having Rock steal his attention just like old times.

To me it makes perfect sense to have Foley as GM.

I am pretty certain that if Foley was announced as the GM they would never EVER refer to him hating Bret Hart again, it happened so long ago I bet most fans have forgotten that anyway.

And if Mick came back, he would be a face as people would be glad to see him. There is no way a Foley return would not get a pop
