Favorite song from a movie

Oddly enough one of my favorite comedys also has one of my favorite songs. The song Scotty doesn't know by Lustra.

First saw this move at my friends house where we were getting high. During the beggning of the movie I was concentrating more on gettiung high than watching the move but when this song played i actually stopped hitting the bowl and listened to this song. While it was playing i laughed my ass off and this song became one of my favorites and to this day I listen to this song whenever i can (The fact that it's on my iPOD doesn't hurt).

"I had visions, i was in them
I was looking into the mirror
to see a little bit clearer
the rottenness and evil in me
fingertips have memories
mine can't forget the curves of your body
and when I feel a bit naughty
I run it up the flagpole and see who salutes
(but no one ever does)
I'm not sick but I'm not well
and I'm so hot cause I'm in hell"

If I could upload the video to this song, I would, but my computer is a true pain in the ass. This piece of music is "Flagpole Sitta" by Harvey Danger and it made it's true debut in the movie Disturbing Behavior, a psychological thriller that was decent with a teenage Katie Holmes sexed up. Was nice but mostly a forgotten film. Other movies like Scooby Doo would adopt this song.

The song itself generates a happy but psychotic beat. It's actually pretty funny when you hear the song itself.

This song is from the movie "Bill And Teds Excellent Adventure", which is one of Keanu Reeves' first movies. I absolutely love this song. It is heard in movie in the future, and turns out to be a song that Bill & Ted's band, Wyld Stalylyns, will make which will "align the planets, and bring them into universal harmony" haha

Such a cheesy, 80s movie, but BRILLIANT

Seriously though, this song should have been released as a single, I really think it could have been a number one. A beautiful piece of music, which really reminds me of "With Or Without You" by U2, which is not a bad thing!

"In Time....
We'll be dancing in the streets all night
In Time....
Everything will be alright

Such a great song, in fact I am going to listen to it right now!

Party on dudes!

Without a doubt, Mad World by Gary Jules from Donnie Darko.

While so many songs are just thrown into a movie soundtrack because they seem to fit, he was specifically asked to re-work the initial Tears for Fears song into a darker way that fit in with the them of the movie. Not only did he OUTRAGEOUSLY succeed, he far surpassed the original version of the song. Everything about the song, from the video to the way he sings it, is haunting, which fits perfectly into the theme of the movie. I actually watched this movie with my mom about three years ago(which is a miracle in itself that we spent more then fifteen minutes together) , and she was the one who pointed the song out to me in the first place, and how well it fit into the movie. I was f*cked up on painkillers at the time, but once I "sobered up", I re-watched the end of the movie that had the song playing, and understood what she was saying. Here's the part that I found to be most brilliant.

And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which Im dying are the best Ive ever had
I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to say
When people run in circles it's a very very Mad World.

I couldn't think of better lyrics to fit the theme of the music. While the Tears for Fears song was surprisingly ubpeat musically and the way it was vocalized, Jules mellowed it and sang it in a very melancholy way. It fit Donnie to a "T", and was brilliantly re-worked that it far surpassed the original in my mind, and Im a TFF fan. Here's the link for the incredible song and video.

This has to be my all-time favorite song in a movie, at least favorite song in a movie for a laugh. I dunno about a sad song or anything, there are a lot of tearjerkers I'd have to think about to name one. This whole scene though is great. The first time I watched it I thought just the first little bit was gonna be all of the song they played. Then they're all headbanging in the car. Great scene, great song, great movie.

My favorite song from a movie? This one right here:

I have a bad habit of forgetting most of a movie shortly after watching it, but even after 2 decades I still remember the epic awesomeness of this song playing in Spaceballs as Lonestar's ship flies. That alone should show the impact it had on me. It's my favorite "song from a movie" due to the fact that it's one of the few songs that I mentally associate with the scene from a movie it's in, and how great of a song it is to begin with.

My favorite song I'll have to think about. My favorite music from a movie is any of the music from the Back To The Future movies. Favorite song? Hmmm...ever since I saw Goodfellas, I can't hear the second part of Layla anymore without thinking of that movie so I'll go with that for now.
