Fast Food Cheap Tricks

I've realized some pretty sneaky tricks fast foods pull on people. For one, the McFlurry. Priced at $2.25, it has 4oz of sundae mixed with an ounce of the topping you choose. A regular sundae is $1.38 with just the syrup topping. It's $1.69 with a topping like say M&M's or Oreos. The cup itself is also 4oz. Meaning it's the same amount as the McFlurry. There are more, but I forgot them.

The combos at my movie theater are the total price of each thing individually.

Why would I buy ice cream from McDonalds when Burger King is giving it away for free?

Surely the most obvious one is not to pay for the big bucket cup when you get free refills?

...or just not pay for a soda at all, if I can get a 64 oz. soda from the gas station for $0.64 why the fuck would I pay $1.75 (or whatever it is) for a smaller soda at a fast food place. plus you could always just as for a cup for water, and fill it with soda...

Or buy a main course entree when you a have already paid for an all-you-can-eat buffet.

What fast food place to do know that has a "all you can eat buffet"?

I love when I go to the theater and they tell me that if I go the next size up I'll save a quarter or some shit, yet it cost more. The only that would save me money is if I managed to drink all 64 oz. and then went back up for a refill.

I use to have a friend that would try and find the large bucket of popcorn that some had just thrown away, rinse it out, and take up the concession stand and get the free refill, I think he tried doing it with soda as well, it's kinda disgusting but saved him a shit load of money.

No it's not, they do it all the time. It was on Watchdog the other week for it.

I would agree with this 100% as I know that in America soda in stores can be ridiculously cheap for even the more famous brands like Coca-Cola and Pepsi but but over here I have found that fizzy drinks have gone up disastrously in price in recent years. £1.10 for 500ml is awful considering only a couple of years ago that that same price would buy you 2 litres.

Typically a 20 oz. bottle of soda will cost you between $1.25 & $1.59, however you can usually find name brand 2 liters for like $1.00 to $1.25, alot of times I see sales on 2 liters that are 10 for $10, cheapest I seen is $0.59. Basically 2 liters are the way to go, especially if you're going to be drinking the majority of your soda at home, or have a fridge at work to keep it in, & then just keep refilling your cup through out the day.

It's weird it's £1.19 for a 500ml or a 600ml of Pepsi but from the same shop you can get a 2L for £1. Very odd.

When McDonalds still had the $1 double cheeseburgers we would get them but ask for no ketchup or mustard and get big mac sauce and lettuce instead. It was no extra charge so we basically got $1 Big Macs (without the annoying/pointless middle bun) and it was pretty sweet.

I still do this. Are McDoubles really not a dollar over there?

All the sodas at McDonalds cost the same, so when you're getting a combo, tell them you want the largest soda.

The McDoubles are, the double cheeseburgers are not. The only difference is one slice of cheese ha and 39 cents so it's not a big deal getting one or the other.
