Extreme Rules Rating

Dark Match Winner
I just purchased Extreme Rules 2012 because I wanted to see the Lesnar/ Cena match and noticed that it is rated TV14. I found this very interesting as WWE says that all their content and PPVs are PG. Is this a show of things to come?

I might have thought its a sign of things to come at the time... but seeing as since then we have had a number of horrible PG main events, I dont see anything coming of it. Maybe its just cause they wanted to make lesnar look badass.

Can we drop this subject already? This is about the millionth post I've seen on this subject over the past year.

WWE is NOT going back to a TV-14 rating, because they have deals with companies like Mattel and others that would only license them if they were kid-friendly. Not to mention the concussion discoveries over the last few years that keep them from doing certain chair shots and even them going so far as to banning Randy Orton's head-punting move. Also, all of the issues with Hep-C that prevent bleeding during matches, as well as the Benoit debacle and Linda McMahon's political aspirations. All of those things and more have changed the course of the company forever.

They are a publicly traded company who has to answer to investors, so they are going to be careful about everything they do (see Chris Jericho's suspension). Sure, they carry an edge every now and then (within the constraints of the PG rating), but the days of the Attitude Era are DEAD AND GONE! Get over it, please, and move on.

I think the only reason for it was the accidental bleeding caused on the head of Cena in the match. The main event was pretty brutal on all counts. I don't think it was a strategic move or a sign of things to come.
