Evan Bourne's Injury

Jacarr

Occasional Pre-Show
So as im sure most know Evan Bourne suffered a shoulder injury that is expected to keep him out of action for an estimated 4 months. They wrote him off of T-V by having recently traded to Raw C.M Punk.

Now this to me is a huge dissapointment, I love Bourne and what he brings to the table, undoubtedly one of the best high flyers of this era or any other for that matter. Now most of us heard that Bourne was supposed to be in line for some sort of push. Apparently John Cena was behind the reason for this and for awhile it seemed that he was in line for some sort of push but it seemed to have died down a little bit over the last while. Now with Bourne on the sidelines how will this affect bourne on his return?

* Will he return for revenge against CM Punk- Which i think would consist of some pretty decent match-ups

*Making a surprise return at the Royal Rumble and possibly winning it? ( far fetched i know )

* Or coming back with some ring rust and fading into obsecurity

*possibly even being traded to smackdown to feud with the likes of Alberto del rio or even Mysterio?

These are some of the ideas i had for a returning Evan Bourne.

Thoughts...

I'm sure it will be a return to face Ounk if Punk's not doing anything big at the time. This injury could be the best thing for him though since he will come back to face CM Punk. That's quite a one on one match for Bourne and could do wonders for his career. Maybe he'll work on his mic skills while he's hurt and come back as a serious mid card title contender after his feud with Punk.

I think Bourne winning the Royal Rumble seems a bit out there. However, I do like your idea of having him be a surprise entrant and then eliminating Punk from the match. Then put him in a revenge angle against him that could probably be drawn out until Wrestlemania. Maybe have each other cost each other MITB spots to draw it out more. Then maybe have Bourne go over Punk at Wrestlemania before drafting him to Smackdown where he can thrive more. I've always thought that Punk makes all his feuds watchable so I'm hoping something good will come out of Bourne's eventual return.

I do believe his that improving his mic skills at this point in the game is going to be a big part of how his return is handled, agreed the feud would do wonders for Bourne as a competitor but he definetly needs to improve his mic skills, he needs to convince us and give us a reason that he is going to make an impact upon his return.

Otherwise, I do believe that he will just fade into obsecurity, like i said and unfortunately only be known as a spot monkey.

Even if he's only know as a generic face spot mokey, he'll still have a job with WWE. He's pretty over as a low card guy so I doubt he'll fade into obscurity anytime soon. BUt in order for him to take a step up in competition he needs to get a character. Right now all he does is smile and throw up a peace sign. He needs a bit of depth to go any higher than he is right now.

I thought the rumble idea was pretty out there as well, definetly like the idea of him entering and eliminating punk. He definetly needs some more spunk to his character, hopefully if this feud were to happen we could see it there

Agreed, I would probably be intrigued with a Punk feud with a goat. The guy is too good. We will see how things work out.

If anything this could be a good thing for Bourne to be out of action ( Not for him being hurt ) But possibly in the long run in giving him a chance to improve on mic skills during his Rehab

I think Bourne should get a huge push when he returns. Maybe a feud against CM Punk is on the horizon, but I would much rather see him in a feud with Daniel Bryan, I say this because of their Indy history. I'm not a storyline writer, and this may sound like complete nonsense, but stay with me here.

There styles totally clash together. You have Danielson, who is a submission machine, up against Bourne who is a highflying risk taker. I don't know how I would develop the storyline, I don't watch wrestling much anymore, so I don't know who's heel and who's face.

Trading him to Smackdown is about the dumbest thing WWE could do, so that means they'll most likely do it, haha. Winning the Royal would be awesome though but highly unlikely I would say.

PS: It'll be fun posting in here with someone who post decent post, instead of spammers.

I do not feel Bourne will amount to much. I don't personally have anything against him or anything. He just doesn't have that it factor. There isn't much star quality with him. Besides his athleticism... That is all he has. Which obviously isn't enough to get him over.

He might receive a push, but I think it will fizzle out. He might even capture the US Title. But I believe that will be his biggest accomplishment. AND it will not be a lengthy reign. He will be around for quite awhile, I don't wanna say he will become a jobber. But he won't have a much higher status then a "Glorified Jobber" over the next few years.
