The show kicks off at 9:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time on CBS. Here's the main card:
-Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson vs. Ken Shamrock
-Jake Shields (#5 Welterweight in the World)* vs. Paul Daley
-Andrei Arlovski (#4 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Roy Nelson
-Gina Carano vs. Kelly Kobald
-Benji Radach vs. Murilo "Ninja" Rua
Should be a really enjoyable show. Yes, the main even is a bit of a sideshow, but whatever. The crowd's going to be heavily into it and it should be exciting as fuck.
Anyway, my predictions are as follows:
Benji Radach vs. Murilo "Ninja" Rua - I have to be honest here, I've seen Rua fight a couple of times, but never seen Radach fight, so I have to pick Rua just because of that.
Gina Carano vs. Kelly Kobald - I am a HUGE Gina Carano fan and I'm definitely rooting for her. No one should be taken lightly in MMA, but Kobald should be no challenge for Gina. So after she wipes the floor with her, hopefully we can then finally see Gina Carano vs. Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, which, in my opinion, is good enough to be a main event fight.
Andrei Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson - Big fan of Arlovski's and I don't care for Nelson, so obviously picking Arlovski here. I'm curious to see what AA's next move will be after this fight.
Jake Shields vs. Paul Daley - Basically, the same scenario as the two fights above. I'm a huge fan of Jake Shields fan and I don't give a damn about this Daley guy. Shields comes out of the Cesar Gracie camp (same camp as the Diaz brothers), so you know he will be fully prepared for this fight even though it's against a weak opponent compared to his skills. But really, EliteXC hardly has any good Welterweights to give him a challenge. So he should vastly become on of their "Golden Boys", so to speak.
Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock - Kimbo Slice wins this by first round knockout. Can Ken do better then that? Yes, but he won't. I just know the dumb fuck will go in there and stand with the guy, in which case get his head knocked off. BUT, if by some miracle Ken does go in there and fights with his head instead of pride and constantly goes for takedowns, then he could easily catch Kimbo in a submission, or even go the full three rounds and win by decision, but it's not happening.
EDIT: Here's the weigh in from today. It's worth watching for the 2:14 to 3:40 mark (which is a bit awkward, but still hot) and the 6:50 mark (which is obviously staged, but still funny):
