It is way past time for one of the single greatest attractions in pro wrestling history to get his just due recognition and a deserved victory in the WZ tournament. Andres' influence and impact on the pro wrestling business cannot be overstated. He was, quite possibly, the single most over, and single most beloved mat stars ever to grace the squared circle. In an era long before cable television, and the internet, Andre the Giant put more asses in more seats than any other performer, and his dominance was such that even into his later years, when his physical tools began to leave him, It was his presence in the main event at WM 3 that cemented the legacy of Hulk Hogan, and pushed him over the top into superstardom.
In his nearly 30 years as a professional, Andre was only pinned cleanly by a handfull of mat stars, while in the meantime boasts a win record over a list of wrestlers that are now members of the Hall of Fame, and then some...
If I'm not mistaken, he still holds the record for the most battle royal wins of any wrestler
He was undefeated in North America for well over a ten year span from the mid seventies into the mid eighties....
In the locker room, and in the ring, Andre was one of the most feared and respected wrestlers in the business...
As a performer in the ring, Andre was equally effective as a beloved babyface equalizer to any monster heel in any territory, or conversely, as the unbeatable monster heel, especially in Japan. What also made him so over was his ability to convincingly sell either persona, such was his intelligence and cleverness as a performer, I still believe that he was one of the best in the business at ring psychology, and at telling a story with his matches. It is true that he was not a technical master in the ring, but he was not sloppy in the ring by any stretch of the imagination, and could do some absolutely amazing things in the ring when in his physical prime.
Additionally, Andre was a mainstream attraction on television, with guest spots on various tv shows long before pro wrestling went national...
Therefore, it is for these reasons, among others, that It is time to cast your collective votes for none other than the big boss himself, ANDRE THE GIANT

    1. Andre didn't put as many asses in the seats as, say, Bruno or Lou Thesz. He may not have even put as many asses in the seats as Verne Gagne, and not as many as Dusty Rhodes. He was a sizable draw, but it's probably the best credential he has in this tournament, other than his mainstream success.

    2. Even as a draw, he had to be used in a limited way. He was a special attraction; and granted, as special as he was, you couldn't use him as well as other names.

Andre will make it far, but he shouldn't win this.
