Edge on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight

Getting Noticed By Management

I did a quick search of the forum here and it doesn't seem like anyone had previously posted a link to this interview, so I decided to share it here. This took place here in Canada on CBC a week or so before Wrestlemania 27, and as we now know, just weeks prior to Edge's retirement. It's really a great interview, covering a wide range of topics; everything from Chris Benoit and concussions and the resulting improvements in the wellness policy to anecdotes about Edge's early career. Edge is a class act, and throughout the interview he is very candid and honest, more than we typically see from pro wrestlers. He openly acknowledges that there's a probable link between concussions and the behavior changes observed in Chris Benoit prior to his death, and seemingly endorses the work and theories of Chris Nowinski. He also speaks about the rise of the UFC and the WWE's return to PG, and how he feels that this move is really taking the company back to it's roots (from when Edge was a child, at least), and providing a safer working environment for WWE wrestlers.

I don't really have any specific questions in regards to the interview; I'm more just interested in linking it and letting people discuss what they will about it. But I suppose a few discussion points would be:

- What do you think of Edge's talk about the wellness policy, and how wrestlers who have gone before like Chris Benoit have really paved the way for safer working conditions for the current generation?
- Do you agree with Edge that the PG era is good for wrestlers health and longevity?

Enjoy.

Edit:
(The Youtube video player doesn't seem to be working. If any Mod wants to tweak the post to display the youtube link properly, please do so. Otherwise the video is available at the link above).
