ECW: Not so Bad

Despite all the hating and all of the disrespect Vince gets for ECW and all of the crap he has done to screw it up, the matter of fact is that it's ratings are double what Sci Fi expected and double what the other show before ECW took in and everyone is shocked at what ECW can do. ECW gets the same ratings every week, it's just that people watch it more together so that it only seems it's going down, look at the nielsens if you don't believe. The fact is ECW is here to stay, argue all you want, but there's no point in topics called: "Will ECW make it." or "ECW's future."

the problem is people are tuning in based on the old promotion. the closest this new "brand" has come to the real ECW is the Flair/Big Show match.

The show is 45 minutes what do you expect. I think the new vision of ECW is not bad and there are many new stars that have to be pushed for the new ECW to reach it's goals... like CM Punk!!

unfortunately though reports say that Punk has WWEized his moves and waterd down some of the things he can do because of Vince's concern for the high flyers

Regardless of whether or not it will last, the fact of the matter is that yes while this is not supposed to be 100% old ECW, it NEEDS to incorporate those elements into the product for it to be truly successful.

Not so Bad, it's bad, I remember Paul promising us the old ECW, i can't believe he's (and the old ECW wrestlers) putting up with what were suppose to buy as ECW, and yeah it might be here for until WWE goes out of business but that's not the point IMO, it's either Vince is going to come to his sense and give the power back to Paul, or make a jackass out of himself by making the ECW name a joke.

To side with all the WWE fans, the new ECW hasn't found its identity yet, hopefully it is allowed to. I'm a skeptic, after their first (crosses fingers) ppv I can chime in again.

The new ECW is ok in my opinion. I have realized that it's not the same ECW as the original (which I also liked). But I'll get used to it.

I was expecting something more closer to the old ECW when it first started, but now i know what its going to be like which is not all that great yet. The problem is this if Raw and SD! are going to be the sports entertainment shows then make ECW the "wrestling show" make with more up pace action, wrestling is no longer the the headlocks and armdrags its now all about the WOW factor as in how did he do that this is what TNA is all about it may not have the great storylines, but it may have some of the best athletes ive ever seen in the ring putting on great action filled matches, thats what ECW used to be. You dont always need the chairs and tables to be considered Xtreme its all about doing moves that seem crazy and show casing how great athletes these guys are. Take page out of the new genre of action sports and make it your wrestling and you will have a winner.

Thats the problem. Thats what pisses off every true ECW fan that remembers what it once was. ECW ALREADY HAS AN IDENTITY!!! They wouldn't need to find one for the "New ECW" if Vince wasn't pissing all over the legacy of ECW. They don't need a new identity, they need to be allowed to continue the old one.
