Douglas Williams Working with OVW as Trainer

It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
@TNADixie:
Doug Williams has been brought in as a trainer for OVW. Can't wait for our developmental talent to benefit from his tremendous knowledge!

I agree with Carter here. Williams has a tremendous knowledge for the sport and truly understands what it takes to succeed in (and out) of the ring. Aside from someone like Angle, I can't think of a better guy to have training the young talent coming up through the pipeline than Williams.

Thoughts?

I think this is a brilliant move. Williams is like a younger Finlay in his style and experience and given many WWF stars have cited how great Fit was in their development, Doug would seem a natural to fulfill the same job for OVW.

This is great news. He can use his veteran experience to guide and help the younger talent. As the above posted pointed out, he could have the same role as Finlay.

I like this idea a lot. Was always a fan of Douglas Williams, and he really does seem a natural fit for this role. Will be exciting to see what kind of talent he helps along.

I'm with the masses here. Williams can easily be in the same mold as Finlay was in WWE. He has the years of experience and can really help move the progression of the young up and comers along.

I think Doug is at the point in his career where there's not much point to see him compete. He's dropped off a lot in physical condition since we've last seen him actively on Impact. We don't need him chasing a title.

This is a good spot for him, a great spot, a perfect spot for him. Teaching the young boys the difference between a wrist lock and a wrist watch. lol. Because Michael Cole sure as fuck doesn't know the difference. Someone has to pass on the tradition of wrestling.

This is great news for everybody involved. Doug has always been a fantastic wrestler and would have so much to teach the guys in ovw. Some of the wrestlers there are a bit rough round the edges but with doug williams help they will make great improvements. Also Williams is not as young as he once was and at this stage of his career he needs to start thinking about what he is going to do next. becoming a trainer would be a step in the right direction.
