Does the WWE like to make Jesse's career a living joke?

Death-Magnetic

Dark Match Jobber
Jesse's WWE career began back in 2007 appearing in vignattes promoting the new tag-team Jesse and Festus. It wasn't until later in the year that they made their debut. Nothing speacial. After almost 2 years, the tag team is spilt up after Festus is moved to RAW. Now the splitting of this tag team could've meant a lot of things for young Jesse. WWE could've had him:
1) Form a tag team with Jimmy Wang Yang. People would believe that friendship as both of them had the whole redneck gimmick.
2) Break Jesse into singles action.
3) Ship him to ECW for repackaging.
But no the WWE couldn't do that. Instead they keep him on Smackdown! and repackage him as Slam Master J, the white gangster hat wants to prove to Crime Time that he's not no poser.I decided to watch his debut match under his new gimmick. Dear Lord. It's as if the WWE wants to humiliate this guy. I can't even begin to tell you how dumb cornrows look on an albino like Jesse. There was however a glimpse of hope in his debut match against Haas. Near the end of the match he climbed the top rope. I thought he would do some sort of Cruiserweight like manuever, but no. Instead We see him to a Superfly like move that is supposed to make us believe knocked out Haas for the 3 count.

The queston at hand is, do you think the WWE is purposely trying to humiliate Jesse with terrible gimmick after terrible gimmick? Besides his singles win as SMJ, I don't think Jesse ever made the pin ofr a win in any match he has been in.

He's not really that impressive of a wrestler. He's okay, but you can't really expect him to get anywhere. He doesn't really have the look, or anything else for that matter.. and he killed any credibility he could ever have by being Jesse w/ Festus in the first place. 2 rednecks who's theme starts off with "BISCUITS AND GRAVYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" and the big one drools all over the place and goes crazy when he hears a bell ring? ... Yeah, i'm incredibly suprised he hasn't been future endeavored already.

He didn't impress me when he was teaming with Festus a whole lot and his paper gangster gimmick is just awful. I mean there just isn't anything looking good for him right now. I understand his ties with the business, but creative just hasn't done anything right him yet, so why keep him around. I don't get what WWE is doing with Jesse, but lets hope something gets done, because this is just another sad case.

Along with the others in this thread I'm gonna go ahead and say Slam Master J (me thinks) is a useless, untalented wrestler. Yet his rapping shit cracks me up coz it's soo corny

People. What's with these threads complaining about the lack of push of certain wrestlers?

:disappointed:

It's JESSE. I'm sure he's a talented guy, but...it's JESSE. He is less over than the likes of Tiger Ali-Singh. Even in his tag team with Festus, he was easily the less-popular of the two.

A show needs balance. If you don't have comedy characters...then people won't take the serious characters seriously. The audience knows when it's time to lighten up a bit...and the audience subsequently knows when it is time to get serious.

Putting Jesse in any situation other than a comedy-jobber situation, at this point, is unfounded. I didn't even realize that he was still with WWE. If he does something in his minor roles that warrants him a push of any kind...then perhaps this question will have a speck of legitimacy.

I just think it's weird that big-ass Terry Gordy pumped out this little fucker. It's like being the greatest porn star ever and having a gay son. Bam Bam is rolling in his grave seeing this crap.

But who knows...it may get over, it may not (Zack WOO WOO WOOOO Ryder got over for fuck's sake)...pair him with R-Truth's "Pretty Ricky" character and...well...you may have something. At least it would be another tag team.

Once again I see Ricky has to come in here and be the voice of reason.

As he said...we're talking about fucking JESSE. Is there something better he could be doing right now besides the comedy gimmick? No. Seriously, take away the comedy gimmick with Cryme Tyme, and explain to me what Jesse does on Smackdown and why he deserves to be on television at all. He's not very good at anything he does, other than looking like a goofy white guy in a doo-rag. Which he does quite well. Which is why he should continue to do it.

Seriously people...we're talking about fucking JESSE here.

the wwe are most likely only keeping jesse around because of who his dad's tag partner was, and hayes is deciding to do the gordy family a favor (most liekly cuz they aren't black)

i guess the wwe thinks its better to have jesse on tv as a stupid ass gimmick than doing nothing at all

I'll bet Jesse thinks so, too. The company needed someone to play the "Chavo" on Smackdown and probably called Jesse over and said: "We can give you the Slam Master role....... OR, if you don't want that, you can look for work at Lucha Libre."

I don't think WWE was looking to humiliate the guy nor do I think they invented the character just to suit Jesse's talents. Actors on TV and movies often have to play less-than-desirable characters, and if they want to keep working.......they do it.

Go, Jesse.

Jesse has been at his best as a comedy jobber. He's got no special 'it' factor and to get any TV time at all is a blessing for him. I honestly never gave a shit about him while he was with Festus but now as SMJ I find him quite entertaining whilst doing the promos with CT.

As a wrestler he is ok and can get the job done in a lower/mid card match but he doesnt deserve a push of any kind over the likes of Ziggler/Morrison etc who are actually getting over and deserve the push's.

Jesse should be happy he's had any TV time at all.

I think Jesse is actually quite good, and I am always entertained by him. In Jesse and Festus he was te one that made the team work as long as it did, and in his new Cryme Tyme gimmick he is pretty funny. Personally, I'm not sure he is ever going to get anywhere in the business, so at least doing what he's doing keeps him in a job. He wouldn't be a bad shout for another tag team, because freebirds wouldn't suit Cryme Tyme. A team with Charlie Haas, where he is the talker and Haas the doer would be pretty good. In answer to the question, Jesse is a joke because he is one of the funnier wrestlers on the roster.
