Does Anyone Remember When The Undertaker fought Festus on Smackdown?

Getting Noticed By Management
How are you guys doing? I posted a thread asking if you remembered when Edge fought John Morrison on Smackdown. Now I am asking if you remember when The Undertaker fought Festus on Smackdown.

Here is the match in two parts:

part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRrIVmODYIg

part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PvU8_2aHAk

Tell me what you think of the match and if you saw it on tv. I personally love this match and strangely, Taker and Festus had great chemistry together.

Actually this wasn't the 1st time they wrestle each other the 1st time was in WWC in Puerto Rico a few months before this match they both were coming off injuries and that match was as good as the 1 you posted. I saw Drew Hankinson wrestle a match in WWC 2 weeks ago and he seem like he is in better shape than when he got released from the WWE. Drew is only 27 yrs old I think the WWE should bring him back as son of Kane ( masked ) and have him retired Taker at Summer Slam 2012 or Survivor Series 2012. Then we can have father vs son when Glenn Jacobs is ready to retired. Drew is not a bad wrestler he just needs a mouth piece like kane and undertaker had when they debuted. I strongly believe he can take the son of Kane character a long way.

Well it's well known that Festus/Luke Gallows was the fake masked Kane so one would think that in studying for that character he saw alot of Kane vs. Undertaker tapes. Which would have helped him in the match against 'Taker. He's a big guy and, as proved by the various characters, he seems fairly versatile. WWE rarely closes the door on anyone coming back. They would just need something for him to do which is why I believe he was released.

As for the match, it was a good match for two bigger guys. Sometimes when two big guys duke it out the match can be less than entertaining, but the odd time we come across a match like this.

I disagree with Drew coming back as Kane's son and ending Undertaker's career and all, but I would like Drew to return to the WWE in the future. Just saying. I gotta say though, you have a good post and a creative idea.

Thanks you I really appreciate it buddy, I hope they bring him back as some type of a monster heel, the guy was in Puerto Rico looking in the best shape of his career and was giving other big men in WWC crazy beat downs I was like wow this can't be the guy that was Festus or Luke Gallows. This guy can go far with the right gimmick, TNA needs to hired me to do their scouting and some creative for them LOL.

I remember that match. Festus refusing to tap out was priceless and quite honestly shocking considering he was only a tag team wrestler.

Yeah it certainly was a huge moment to me. I liked Festus and I recall having trouble deciding if I were rooting for Festus or Undertaker. I wanted to see Festus be elevated and in a way he was. Unfortunately, after this match nothing came to be of him until he became Luke Gallows. And even as Gallows he never became anything big. :banghead:

haha. Your welcome man. And yeah, that guy was in great shape when he became Luke Gallows. He looked more athletic each week after his debut of the Gallows character. Festus/Gallows could have done more in his career for certain.

I loved this match and Taker really put over Festus. For some reason Gallows looked like a smaller man compared to the Festus character, must have been his camo gear.

Festus in this match came off as a beast... and I agree with you guys, making him a heel with a manager or a handler would have worked better. He was solid in the ring and I think the Gallows character was rather boring. He could have been a monster with multiple possiblities.

Maybe teamed him with Mike Knox, who knows they could have really done some damage to the main event babyfaces...
