Do You Think You'd Be A Good Parent?

I think I'd be a decent parent to someone 11 years and older, but I'm not sure about younger kids. You see, I hate Disney movies, and I get the feeling that that's all I'd be able to watch with a younger kid. Of course, I could always take the Jake route and just let my kid watch whatever he/she wants...note to self: ask Jake how that's going when he's on next.

As for "The Jake Route"...well I grew up watching all kinds of violent and sexual shit that I shouldn't have been watching and I've grown up just fine. If I ever have kids I think I'll let them watch just as much bloody, gorey horror movies that I did as a kid. If I didn't, I'd feel like a giant hypocrite.

Well, that's something that will change in time. When you have a kid, you're not exactly handed a manual with the baby. As they grow, so does your mentality of it all. I may not have kids, but I've got quite a few nieces and nephews(none of them are any older than 5). It's not the same, but you get an idea of how a parent learns on how to handle a kid.

Once you have that kid, you're gonna reach a point where Disney movies replace any other movie you'll see. At least until they stop watching it altogether.

Would I make a good parent? Yes! Would I ever want kids? Heck No. Besides my nephew & neice who I love dearly, I hate kids. Their annoying and cost to much.

Yeah, I'm of the school "Tell the child twice, then if he doesn't listen, let him find out himself." As in; I'll tell my kid twice not to stick a nickel into the wall socket. Then, if he keeps on, he'll learn.

I should be a good parent, though. I'm hella good at empathizing, and I'll never go drunk and beat my kids, and I'll have plenty of life lessons to teach them. I've been through hell and back in my 19 years on this Earth, and I know as a parent I'll try as hard as I can to keep them from that. That's really all you need to do.

If we're going by society's standards, no. I'm a horrible parent. I yell at my son, I spank him when he's bad, and I let him stay up until the wee hours of...OMG...9pm!

But, he still eats, bathes, brushes his teeth, and wipes his ass, and knows right from wrong. I think I'm doing a damn fine job.

I'm not quiet sure how good a dad I'd be. On the one hand, I'm terrified of babies. I'm afraid I'd drop them or break 'em when I pick one up. On the other hand, how bad ass would it be to have my own little paddawan? I could shape his little mind into an intelligent, stand up kinda guy. Plus I'd have a Star Wars buddy, to go grab me a beverage as we watch copius amounts of the Saga, every episode of Buffy, and enumerated hours of wrestling. Yeah, I'd suck as a parent, come to think of it. I'm better suited for being the cool uncle.

I think I'd make a good parent, but only if I had a wife who could keep me on the straight and narrow and not let me get distracted. I have a good sense of when to discipline and how much is enough, and I'm reasonably responsible. My major downfall is my inability to stick with things and remember the important stuff.

Well i for one am a parent and I will say this, don't matter how much you say your ready, your never ready for the amount of responsibility that lies with it, my kids mean the world to me but sometimes I feel im too strick with them but stick to my guns in hopes they turn out to two wonderful beutiful young women, do I enjoy it?... Well yeah... Would i ever expected it...No

But now i am a dad i never knew how i could of lived without my two girls

They are my life my heart and soul and IMO when the time comes hopefully you all will see what i mean.
