Do You Care about the Sheamus vs Del Rio Feud?

Getting Noticed By Management
Lets be honest, the suspension of Randy Orton has impacted the importance that Sheamus on smackdown since he is now the top star on the show, I know that sheamus was world champion well before randys suspension but lest be honest, Sheamus is NOT a bigger star than Randy Orton.....

So now all eyes are on sheamus to carry Smackdown on his shoulders, his first title program as the main star is against del rio... key question: do you care?

Ill be maybe too honest, but i dont give a shit about this program. Ive always liked Sheamus, maybe he hasnt been among my top favorites, but he always gave it his all and gave us decent or good matches, but he is NOT a top guy that can carry a brand. i hope he proves me wrong and continue to evolve and get better. Onto Dle Rio, he also gets it done in the ring but this guy DOES NOTHING FOR ME.....hes boring, and is a total snoozefest and I say this as a latino.

So, i may not care about this program but you do....Discuss....

In a word: no.

I have no interest in any feud involving Sheamus. I have always liked Del Rio but he needs to feud with someone more established to help him. I began to like Sheamus on a moderate level when he was getting his push the months before Royal Rumble, but he is not championship material for me. His title run has exposed him. For me, he is one of those guys that can carry a decent feud without a title. But now that he is in Smackdowns spotlight, we're all getting to see exactly how flawed he is. If it weren't for HHH he wouldn't be in the spot that he is, because if you've ever been to a live event, you can see that he isn't anywhere near as over as the WWE likes to think he is. The fact that they took the title off of Bryan when he was as hot as he was was a joke.

I would like to care, but I don't really care for the feud that much. I understand that they are trying to push Sheamus as the face of Smackdown, but I don't like how Sheamus comes out on top at the end of every episode. However, I like Sheamus. His mic skills aren't that amazing, but they are acceptable, and he has some pretty good ring skills. I might not care for the fued, but at the same time, I look forward to their match at No Way Out. Both are pretty good in the ring, however the match might not happened now that it's announced that Del Rio has a concussion. Hopefully he can recover in time for No Way Out.

I just don't like Sheamus as a face. He acts too much like a grinning, wisecracking, overgrown boyscout instead of the no nonsense ass kicker he was as a heel. As for Del Rio he's one of those just there guys to me. I don't really hate him but I wouldn't be in an all fire hurry to watch a show with him either.

Nobody cares about this- nor do I. This match is on the card just for the sake of having a WHC match on the card. Nobody realistically thinks that Sheamus will get beat. It is just on the card just to make sure the WHC is on the card, It is just thrown together and nobody cares.
Sheamus- I can't stand him just because he's HHH's boy he is in that position, also he pisses me off. He thinks a good babyface is just some jackass who comes out smiling.

ADR-Honestly...1 of the biggest flops in WWE history. Bad on the Mic, so boring in the ring, A gimmick that has been done a million times, Never drawn a dime, Never gets any heat, He's a Mid-carder at best. He's a 2-time WWE champ, RR winner, MITB winner yet he draws no heat & isn't over. He is so stale and one-dimensional he can never be a babyface yet cant' draw any heat as a heel. It frustrates me that despite all of this he is given chance after chance ahead of Ziggler who is better on the Mic, In the ring, more exciting and gets more heat. But he is placed in a jobbing tag-team things like this in WWE frustrate me so much.

Nope, don't care. Not even a little. Cough up the bucks for the PPV to see this? Not likely.

And it doesn't have anything to do with Orton's absence, either. To tell you the truth Orton had gotten stale as hell long before his suspension.

But I digress. The thing about Sheamus-Del Rio is they just are two guys thrown together. No chemistry. No storyline. Nothing. A lacklaster feud if there has ever been one. As a matter of fact, Del Rio's concussion may be a blessing in disguise - I'm more interested in this now than I was before. I'm curious to see how they solve this dilemma come PPV time.

(SARCASM) OF COURSE WE CARE. You have to give time. Sheamus is upcoming superstar with the world title. It needs time to develop himself. CUT HIM SOME SLACK. Just because you dont care doesnt mean the wwe universe doesnt care about the celtic warrior
Del RIO is very popular in mexico. BY default you have to care about him. Dont say he is boring on the mic because his skill improving progressively.

I have been saying time and time that nobody give a crap about these guys. And that time and time again i hear comment of excuse like the statement above defending those two. ENOUGH. This is why these two are feuding on smackdown and D-Bryan is facing punk on RAW. Can you contrast from the two sides? D-brayn is able to connect to the crowd with his unique gimmick/charisma and the crowd cares about him PERIOD. It is quite evident that smackdown is a developmental brand for RAW and that Vince would quickly swap a guy from SD to raw the momment he becomes popular and vice versa.

I blame on creative rather than del rio and sheamus for their lack of appeal, character development, "rush push" and inability to connect to the crowd. Just swap the world title with the intercontinental title for this match and the perception of the match will still feel the same.

I'll care about the match because I'm a fan of Del Rio's in-ring work and Sheamus has improved from where he was but I don't care about the buildup because there is none. Basically it's Del Rio winning a #1 contenders match and facing Sheamus.

What really bothers me is these two are part of a huge problem today which is character development. Look at Del Rio. He is seen as a ripoff of Ted DiBiase and JBL but here's the difference. We all know about DiBiase's antics and JBL could always get major heat due to his mic work. Del Rio is billed to be a Mexican aristocrat and the only thing he really does to play up to it is to arrive in various fancy cars and have his own ring announcer. Why would the casual fan care about anything like that if that's all he does? There can be so much done with that character and they don't do it.

Sheamus is Irish and loves to fight. I don't know how much they can further his character but I'm sure there's a way to. At the end of the day, we have two wrestlers with little to no character development and gives us barely any reason to care about them which, added to a tired storyline, gives us a feud that no cares about and a match that most people will forget two days after it happens.

Nope. I just find Sheamus to be extremely boring.

Del Rio is a good in the ring but his character is the same old shit. They failed at adding any depth to him.

Very lame title feud.

But I digress. The thing about Sheamus-Del Rio is they just are two guys thrown together. No chemistry. No storyline. Nothing. A lacklaster feud if there has ever been one.

This.

I was trying to find a way to say "NO!" without coming off like a total jerk, but that above is probably the best way I could've done it. Sheamus and Del Rio are about as vanilla a face and a heel as I can think of separately, and together, it's just not anything special. Add that to the lack of creativity put into this feud on RAW and SmackDown, and I truly could not care less about their match at No Way Out (I'm also fairly certain Sheamus will retain anyway). Maybe it gets better if the feud keeps going, but as of June 10th, I just don't give a damn.

Simple. NO.

Ricardo is BY FAR the best part of the whole feud and now Del Rio may be out w/a concussion. Bad program. I think they should have maybe held this off and did Sheamus/Jericho and Orton/Del Rio feuds but i quess they are gone too.

Smackdown has still been better lately, but just cause RAW has been THAT DULL!

Just swap the world title with the intercontinental title for this match and the perception of the match will still feel the same.

I'm not sure if you meant it this way, but strangely enough, the current Intercontinental Title feud could work as a WHC feud and vice versa. In my opinion, it would be more interesting if it were swapped, as well. Xtian was in that awesome WHC feud with RKO this time last year, and Cody Rhodes is "ready" for the push to the main event, I think. Both players are more interesting characters than the rather bland Del Rio and Sheamus, and I enjoy their ring work a little bit more, as well (although Del Rio and Sheamus are good in that regard as well).

Not sure if that is speaking poorly of the current Smackdown of the main event or speaking highly of their midcard, but an interesting observation nonetheless.

No. I like Sheamus, but I can't stand Del Rio. Del Rio is just boring. He's boring on the mic and boring in the ring. Maybe he was good in Mexico, but in WWE I don't see anything special in him. I don't care about any feud involving Del Rio. The only thing I like about Del Rio is his announcer, Ricardo. Ricardo is awesome and should get a small push. I'd love to see him and Santino feud some more. :)
