Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
and say why is this considered important?

On WWE Smackdown on Friday Night, during a Cryme Time "Word Up" segment, Jesse (Ray Gordy) calling himself Jezzy and then Slim J appeared.

I found the use of the names Jezzy & Slim J interesting, but for different reasons.

The Jezzy name was used by Gordy in Deep South Wrestling where he was call Ray Jezzy doing a gimmick similar to what he is doing now on Smackdown.

The Slim J name was the really interesting one, however, as the "real" Slim J is Jeremy Boyd, an Indy worker who has appeared under that name on a TNA PPV, in ROH, NWA Wildside, NWA Anarchy & many other promotions for nearly a decade. And Ray knows Slim J, as Gordy was the NWA Wildside Junior Champion & Heavyweight Champion on a roster with Slim J for years.

Using my phone Friday night from an APW show in Royston, GA, Slim J called Gordy and they spoke about his use of the name. Ray called it a "tribute".

Not sure if WWE will keep the name, but if so, I'd suggest they not waste time trying to trademark it as as after nearly a decade of continuous and uninterupted use in professional wrestling (sports entertainment), the "real" Slim J is Jeremy Boyd.

I found myself asking that too. Although the WWE better make up their minds. First they copied Young Jeezy and now this, the WWE needs to get out more often.

I made things easier on myself by not watching that segment. My life is all the better as a result.
