Dark Match Jobber
Did any one else notice that there was no guest host tonight on raw, is this a way of the writing team to secretly not have guest hosts anymore or will they be back next week.

Yes, I did. I posted my thoughts on the matter in the proper thread, the Raw guest host discussion thread. It was established that tRob Zombie will be the guest host next week and that tonight was more than likely a case of a cancellation and they couldn't find a replacement.

i for one couldnt care if they had a guest host this week i mean since they lost the power to make matches or have any power whats the point of having them on the show. it was cool in the beginning but now its just dumb if they are gonna have guest hosts now atleast keep it in the lines of former wrestlers, divas, managers, etc. keep it in the past of current wrestling buisness not just every watered down celebrity who is looking for a few minutes of tv time i mean come on flava flav, rob zombie i mean seriously i doubt half of these celebrities even watch wrestling i bet they are told a few minutes before each segment what each persons name they are gonna be worth it in my opionion ditch the story line its not even releavent with a gm being back.

and i bet the mysterious guest host is gonna be the one who is behind the nxt group attacks he is gonna be their leader

My guess is like when they had the 3 hour Raw and Teddy Long was there, there was no point in having a guest host. This week it was Vince Mcmahon...The only reason I see that they have a guest host now is so they can get a cheap plug for their own shows/movies for actors, cds for musicians, etc.

I think with all that is going on, it didn't make any sense to have a host GM in last night and realistically, in terms of kayfabe, who would take it?

That being said, I don't think there needed to be a GM last night. Bret Hart was attacked and that was probably for the best as it allowed the Nexus to get their contracts and allowed Vince to fir him basically. Also, Vince was there last night and there was announcement of a new GM. The fact of the matter is that if there was a guest host last night, he/she would have been completely over-shadowed by both the announcement og the GM and the appearance of Vince McMahon on Raw. Not to mention the fact that Raw really was pretty stacked last night and had a nice little over run. The guest host wouldn't have had any time to plug whatever they were plugging so I don't think it made any sense to have one in the first place.

I don't think that this is the end of the Guest Host scenario. I hear that Rob Zombie id due to host next week and that just show you that the WWE is happy with the Guest Host scenario. Right now would be a great time to end the Guest Host angle but I think they are going to keep with it. I mean, it would make sense to cancel it after last night but they are continuing on with it and that should be enough for a signal of intent on the part of the WWE.

If you really think about this for a second, you might remember the earlier thoughts saying that Shawn was taking time off after wrestlemania. Now my thoughts on this is that shawn will be the new gm for the fact that it was talked about being done in previous threads. It was also mentioned that he could possibly come back as a heel. As to the Raw guest host missing from this weeks episode. I didn't think it was to big a deal with everything that went on. Heres another quick idea. Has anyone thought that maybe triple H is behind the nxt guys?
