TNA X-Division Championship Match
"Black Machismo" Jay Lethal(c) vs. "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams

This should be an interesting match up as Petey is starting to get some PPV air time in the ring and Lethal as done really well. Sure the gimmick is someone else and Petey's as well but both play it off well and I expect that to be a part o fthe match. Should be a solid match with some back and fourth, but in the end I see Steiner costing Petey the match on "accident." Then we see more of Sonjay, lethal, and Val triangle love thing. Again not a bad match for a PPV but hopefully TNA gives them enough time to shine as they could steal the show.

Sort of an odd choice to me. I was expecting the triple threat to have homicide in it as he has seemingly been getting a push as of late. As for the match itself, it's obvious that they're building to sonjay and lethal, so Williams makes a good choice because devine is still with 3d so you wouldn't want that feud still. It's obvious steiner will interfere, so the match makes sense. The X-division has been getting a push as of late so hopefully this match will be good. Petey is great when he's given the chance and we know what lethal can do, should be a good match with time.

Its about time they let Petey Williams get back into the main stream X-Division Championship hunt again. I understand that in some manner, they were running him with this whole "Maple Leaf Muscle" - Heavyweight Contender thing. (which is hilarious to me, because it sounds like he's saying "Make-Believe Muscle")

However, Petey belongs in the X-Division. He was one portion of what originally made it great. And I think this match will showcase what was once the top, and what now is the top. Personally, I think Jay Lethal is more over with the crowd and will continue to be such with or without the Championship. Therefore, I'd definately like to see Williams regain it.. then possibly have feuds with Chris Saban, and Alex Shelley.

At least it's different. It's a match to look forward to. Even thought Jay Lethal is still doing that gimmick a year on. It's not like he's even like The Hurrican. Lethal is in TNA'S top 10. He's one of the companys biggest stars. Yet he's still doing that fucking gimmick. It was worthy at first. But now it needs to end. I'm sure Lethal has gained a bit of personality from the gimmick, and I hope he can use it without it.

I think more of what you have to look at, is sometimes once a person takes on a gimmick, its actually the gimmick that takes on them. I think a prime example of this, would be Dustin Rhodes. I swear, the guy had enough talent as himself to be marketed.. they just never tried hard enough. So Goldust was born, and bam.. the gimmick took him over. Now, he'll never ever be capable of leaving it.

Jay Lethal before the Savage gimmick was more or less a jobber, not really doing anything, barely even jobbing. Now, he's a Champion, and a top talent even. I agree with you that I think he's had the gimmick long enough that people will (hopefully) realize hes the one with the actual talent carrying the gimmick, not the other way around.

However, unfortunately, we'll only tell upon him dropping the gimmick. And I ask you this. If he drops it, then the fans start to no longer care, does he dare go back to it? The gimmick itself is running its course, since hes getting his "Elizabeth" so its only a matter of time before she either starts coming with him to ringside, or she gets involved in an injury angle that turns Lethal more "lethal."

Wow and interesting match on a TNA PPV! This one im looking forward to as I do every X Division match, think it will will maybe go on for a long time and perhaps put both men over by many kick outs and finishers etc. I would think Jay Lethal will win and thats cool because hes at the top of his game right now so why wouldn't he? Look to see Big Poppa Pump make an appearecne perhaps turn on Petey again. And I do hope that they keep Sunjay Dutt out of this as I don't want the Dutt and Lethal feud to be rushed. So yeah Winner Jay Lethal.

I have high expectations for this match. Both men are great X-Division wrestlers and I can see both men walk away with the strap tonight. I predict that 'Black Machismo' Jay Lethal will retain but there is a slight chance that Steiner's freak interferes and costs Machismo the championship. Then at Lockdown, it would be Scott Steiner vs. Black Machismo. Wouldn't want to see it, but that is how TNA booking works these days.

Am i the only one who thinks lethal wins but scott comes out and uses the briefcase to be like here petey this is how u win gold. And Scott leaves with the X title
