DDP To TNA?

DDP could finish his career as he started it, as a manager, he's got the mic skills and all that, he could do well to elavate some talent who has no mic skills of his own to speak of at the moment. Think what Flair did for Batista. Fuck, he could even form a tag team with some guy ala Flair and Batista.

Of course it prolly wont happen, but lets not let that spoil the speculation/

I guess next up is Kanyon although I didn't mind the tag team of DDP and Kanyon. Honestly before reading this thread I had no idea that DDP had a stint in TNA. Granted I don't watch TNA as much as I would like but I keep up through the internet and I still don't remember DDP being in TNA. Maybe I fell into a short coma or maybe DDP didn't make a bit of difference in TNA. But a lot of you guys are posting saying he deserves a better send off then his last stint in WWE which tells me that he didn't do anything memorable in TNA since we keep referring back to his WWE stint(but in my opinion being a former Tag and European Champion ain't too shabby).

The only credit I'll give with DDP is that he was one of the bigger names during the Monday Night Wars but at the same time anybody could have taken the ball in his place and run with it. What worked in DDP's favor is that he is great friends with Eric Bischoff which would be bad if he went to TNA cause then you have at least two people off the back with too much control over what they do.

If this was 5 or 6 years ago maybe. Hell if it was this past summer when the MEM was still relevant than I can understand. But if TNA is working so hard on passing the torch to the new guys then why should they keep dishing out money to all these dudes past their prime.

I think if DDP wants to look back on his career and smile he shouldn't go back to TNA. He should just remember that in WCW he was the man and should keep it at that. I mean in his career he is a former WCW Television Champion, United States Champion, Tag Team Champion, and World Heavyweight Champion. Also a former WWE Tag Team and European Champion. He has also fueded with a lot of the greats in wrestling history. I mean if that's not a hell of a career I don't know what is. I say let him be where he is not wrestling. Haha it's funny how everybody's last memory is of DDP losing to the Undertaker's ex-wife. That's something DDP needs to think about before he steps back into any ring.

I might stop watching TNA if DDP came back to wrestle. No way. I hated that guy back in the day, he always felt forced.

Now I could legitimately see Goldberg making a return at some point and that would be huge for TNA. He's really not that beat up and has had a lot of time off to heal up. He can't be more than 40 or so.

If they brought the two of them in together, DDP could maybe manage Goldberg but I'd much rather see a TNA without DDMe.

I wouldn't mind seeing DDP return to TNA if the situation was right. DDP's character is one of the few out there that can actually benefit from him getting older. It would actually be pretty interesting to see him involved in a storyline similiar to Rocky Balboa: he knows he's past his prime, he knows that he'll never be what he once was, but he still has the passion and he has to try one more time. Win or lose, he has to try or live his life filled with regrets and wondering "What If?"

Realistically he's one of only a couple of guys that could pull this type of storyline off well, and I think it could be a pretty good draw.

Maybe it's more like they got sick of dealing with McMahon's attitude? And they wanted a more laid back atmosphere? I myself find those guys pretty entertaining, all for different reasons. Just because you don't work at WWE it doesn't mean that "you didn't cut it". These guys have talents WWE could use right now in fact. And there's plenty of other wrestling promotions out there with really talented guys, that just aren't in WWE. WWE does not make you a talented wrestler.

And just because somebody is older doesn't mean that they can't make a good wrestling show. Because, in fact, they're the people who've been around it the longest and know what the people find entertaining. I think that some people only see the positives in WWE, and only see the negatives in TNA. And others, vice versa. I think both of them have their goods and their bads.

thats because when people watch raw and then switch to impact, they probably wonder how in the heck tna is still not compatible with wwe yet, they have kurt, sting, nash, lashly, samoa j.,aj styles,booker,stiner..etc.. and still they get a 1.0 rating..thats y they just look at the negatives in tna

Ignoring that the rumour is bullshit, this relates to something that TNA needs to do urgently, and that is sort out which of the golden oldies is good, and which isn't. DDP is old, and isn't going to attract a single person to watch TNA that wouldn't have done anyway, the same is true of Ric Flair.

DDP's mic work is good enough to be a manager, but randomly putting people with managers for no reason is a bit of a relic, and is quite uneccessary. Put simply, the rub someone would get from being paired with DDP, is not worth the financial outlay TNA would have to make to sign him.
