Daniel Bryan, where it all begins.... Again

Pre-Show Stalwart
I almost feel that wwe are going with a mania 20 redo this year. I can see Bryan being given the number one entry (with punk as 2) only for Bryan to win the rumble beating mysterio's record time along the way. The authority then offer punk a way into the main event of mania by making the chamber match for the number one contender spot which Bryan once again wins. Bryan then goes on to face Orton in the main event at mania and beats him with his yes lock creating a truly legendary moment in the super dome. think about it, Orton, hhh's student, taps out to basically the same move hunter tapped out to 10 years earlier to the underdog who overcame every obstacle on his way to the top.

Thoughts?

Yes I think this is exactly what is happening, but I dont see Orton holding the title at Wrestlemania 30. I see Cena doing the honours for his friend and sort of brother in law. And possibly this opens the door for the long awaited Cena heel turn. With a hugely over Bryan, CM Punk, returning Sheamus and RVD and possibly Jericho, Batista, we have plenty of main event level face characters. Orton is getting tired, Brock Lesnar comes and goes, Bray isnt there yet ditto any of the Shield. I think Cena turning heel following Mania is a solid way to go, and if it doesnt work, switch him back.

first of all why so much of daniel bryan thread with same topic (top face of wwe).
1. John cena heel turn never happened until his last run, bcoz wwe now in PG so no heel turn happened. If he go for last run as a wrestler then they turn him as a heel to put over a new face talent to his place.
2. According to wwe view daniel bryan never be the face or no.1 guy in their company. He will be one of the top guy, but not the unique 1.
3. If wwe give daniel bryan a win in royal rumble then we trust wwe to put DB on track of main event.

Ok lets come to the point

This year winner of royal rumble face the champion at EC or face Brock Lesnar to determined the spot for wrestlemania. If lesnar challeged the champion at EC. Then we have two challenger for wwe whc title at Wrestlemania (rr winner and ec winner).
CM Punk is locked for HHH match at wrestlemania.
Daniel Bryan has a fair chance of winning the #1 contender for wrestlemania.
So we wait until Royal Rumble.

Listen Bryan will face both Cena and Orton at Wrestlemania for the title.Bryan will win the rumble {entering no.1 & lasting the whole rumble with Punk being no.2 and eliminate Bray Wyatt to win}.Then Cena will win via a Count out at the Rumble against Orton and at EC in an EC match Cena will win the title from Orton. Then you have it at WM - Bryan {RR Winner} vs Cena {Champion} vs Orton {Rematch Clause} when Orton will end up tapping out to Bryan.

Then athere is a possibility that we can see the following matches on the card:
Sting vs Undertaker
Lesnar vs Batista
Punk vs Triple H

And if you add some mid card matches like:
Rhodes vs Goldust
Wyatts vs Legends Team {you can have Hogan & Pipper & Warrior etc....}.
Ambrose vs Rollins vs Reigns - US Title
A match/two and the pre show involving a lot of mid card talent {Jericho & Sheamus & Kingston & RVD & Sandow & Kane & Big Show & Langston & the divas and more...}.
And you get a great WM card.

I hope you're right. I just wish I didn't genuinely feel that the WWE has no faith in Bryan and won't let him come near the title. It all comes down to the Summerslam buyrate bombing last year.
They did tease a match with HBK, which would be awesome, albeit the wrong step in Bryan's carreer right now.

WWE has gone into 'play it safe'-mode, presenting us the same main events as 2008. I wish Batista waltzing in and cutting ahead of everybody straight into the main event of WMXXX didn't sound like exactly the kind of thing the WWE might do right now.

Cena wont turn heel. He is the golden goose of WWE who is worth $100m a year to them. He gets booed anyway so whats going to happen? Ratings will increase for a few weeks and thats pretty much that.

Why turn him heel when half the crowd despises him anyway? The nerds who think it is cool to hate him will simply start to cheer him and the kids who love him will simply boo him and stop buying his merch.

Orton is keeping the belt until mania. With Hogna due back he will be working with Cena at mania. And due to Bryan's concussion who knows if he will be able to even wrestle in the rumble. And Cena is not interested in marrying Nikki Bella. how many times must he say it

Not that I dislike Daniel Bryan or anything but after the piss poor Summerslam buy rate there's just no chance in hell that Bryan carries the title or wins the title at WrestleMania XXX. Vince said it himself, it was a swing and miss type of event. People would either buy it or they wouldn't. Sadly, WWE probably don't view Bryan as a main event contender atleast not for WrestleMania. On top of that, there has been rumors that with the Batista return that he would be winning The Royal Rumble and facing whoever the WWE World Champion is at WrestleMania so that tells you everything right there.

A few things about this...

1) The WWE Network will end the pay-per view buy-rate discussion. Sure. pay-per view will still be an option for watching these events, but I doubt there's a large contingency of people that would prefer to slap down $60 for WrestleMania when they could slap down $60 for 'Mania, the Network's content, and the next five months worth of pay-per views. I also don't see a situation where people say, "Well... I was going to purchase the Network this month, but Daniel Bryan is in the main event so I'll just wait a month ..."

2) Batista is going to win The Royal Rumble? I'm sure that was the plan at one point, and it still might be. But the WWE has a history of calling audibles (Chris Jericho was supposed to win in 2012, right?), and I'm in the camp of people that believes the MSU football team forced an audible as pertains to Daniel Bryan. Mark Madden wrote it today, and I agree with his thoughts, the WWE has a chance to create a lasting moment in their cannon - having WrestleMania 30 go off the air with 70,000 people doing the Yes chant. There is almost nothing the WWE can do that would match that moment. If they're smart, they'll do it. If the WWE truly wants Batista in the main event, they can have him win at the Elimination Chamber. Problem solved.

I’ve been fighting it but it is time to jump on the Bryan bandwagon, at least show him the respect he deserves. Week after week his popularity intensifies. There was thread posted a few days comparing the reaction he receives to the likes of a Punk or Hardy during their peaks and that is complete BS. There has not been a reaction like this since the glass shattered all those years ago. Until now I was against Bryan in the title picture but with the magnitude of his popularity it is an absolute no brainer to put him in the spotlight. There is no one in the company or they could bring in that would register the reaction of Daniel Bryan. I realize how big of a statement that last sentence is but it speaks to massive popularity of this character. A packed Super Dome all chanting YES! YES! YES! would be a truly monumental WrestleMania moment.

Ok so you get one bad buyrate in your very first mainevent , this being compared against established veterans like HHH and lesnar and your forever marked a fail? dosen't anyone else see the problem with this theory?

Bryan wont immediately start reaching the heights on cena and the rock who could. But over time he can reach those levels as he becomes established and with the wider wrestling and mainstream community, it will be the likes of summer slam and other big ppv events and moments like on raw that will build him into a big draw it dosen't just happen over night.

I believe that Bryan will win the Rumble (regardless of the number he draws) and will be facing Brock Lesnar at WM for the title. I think Lesnar will win the title at the EC and then he would be set up for a feud with Bryan. Just imagine the segments of Heyman talking to Bryan. Pure gold!

The 'E has done a great job building suspense for DB's eventual title win at Mania, and it's safe to assume it'll be over Cena.

Here's my logic:

With DB and Cena dating stars of a reality show, they're probably more recognizable to the not-so-regular wrestling fans. Because Mania is the "Super Bowl of wrestling," viewership tends to extend past the everyday viewer. The 'E without question will have a better shot at reaching a more diverse demographic by putting DB against Cena for the company's title. And let's not forget that it would be a true "underdog" story, which is the big payoff they've built towards from the start.

I'm I hot? Cold? Not even close?

If "Yes!" becomes a thing in main stream sports... like if it catches on and crowds in the US start doing it at basketball games during free throws... or at football games during field goals... as a way to support or throw someone off their game... then this will be the most successful thing to have come out of the WWE since The Rock left for Hollywood.

I think WWE needs to capitalize on this and push Bryan hard at WMXXX. They tried to make "Fandango'ing" a thing last year. They try desperately to get this type of reaction outside of their universe. Well, they may resent the fact that it is Bryan who is the one to have done it... but what's "best for business" is to go all in on this thing and ride it for as long as they can.

And that means Bryan, with the strap at 'Mania, and the entire stadium "Yes'ing"

I don't see how it is an underdog story anymore. DB beat Cena clean at Summerslam.

An injured Cena at SummerSlam.
A programme between the two would be great for the strap.
That being said, I would love a Triple Threat between Randy Orton, John Cena and Daniel Bryan. That wouldn't be such a difficult programme to setup, tbh, considering what has gone on this year. Only now, with DB's concussion, it means he might have to miss the Rumble altogether. Even then, it is still possible nevertheless. Daniel Bryan making Randy Orton tap out to the YES! Lock at Wrestlemania 31 Main Event including John Cena...Surely that would be the icing on the cake for all his fans, wouldn't it?

It would be absolutely everything the fans want. That will be DB's Wrestlemania moment.

If they do try to recreate WM20 then they need to go all the way pull the trigger and have Bryan beat Cena in the return Triple Threat at Extreme Rules after mania.

There is a problem though that all of us have not considered with DB challenging for the title. Where does Lesner fit in? Will Cena/Orton go over Lesner at Elimination Chamber?

And does anyone else think that the concussion is just brilliantly timed?? Conspiracy theory of the week #1
WWE could just be saying DB has a concussion and send him away to cool off so that the same thing that happened to Dolph Ziggler (Losing all momentu) during his WHC run. I know it is totally irrational but just the timing of it all got me thinking.

I dont think he has a serious concussion, tbh. I think it is just a way to keep him out of the Royal Rumble match, if he indeed ends up missing it.
If he doesn't get a title shot at Mania, and it is looking that way...then the next best thing is hoping that he gets back into the programme with HBK. Now that would be a match to look forward to,wouldn't it?

I don't think the idea of Bryan winning the Rumble and then the World Title at Mania is completely new. Right from when he was announced as number one contender by Cena this seemed a legit possibility. The only doubt, in my mind, was if the Yes chants would die down but they haven't - if anything they have become even more prominent.

Bryan winning the title at Mania has the potential to be a great WM moment. His rise to the top has elements of Rey and Benoit. The underdog finally winning against all odds. While, in my opinion, it will be nowhere near as good (or deserving) as Benoit's title win; I'm sure it will be a great WM moment.
