Daffney: The Best Harley Quinn Since... Harley Quinn

The Shark Should've Worked in WCW
So I'm sitting here, watching replays of TNA's Impact last night, and I can't deny: In my opinion, Daffney is the best Knockout Character in TNA, as we speak. Better than The Beautiful People, better than Awesome Kong, and better than any other Knockout. Daffney's character is the best Knockout currently in TNA.

Now, as noted in the title of this thread, Daffney has plenty of material to work with, considering she's working with Harley Quinn, who in herself is a terrific character. I'm curious as to whether anyone caught to Daffney saying, "Have A Nice Day" to Mick Foley when Dr. Stevie and Raven were choking Mick out. It had almost that New Jersey/ Long Island sound that typically annoys the Hell out of me. And the constant following of Raven and Dr. Stevie just screams to me the style of Harley Quin''s following of the Joker. Again, I'm not sure if these are intentional choices by Daffney, but they're amazing, and really make her character stand out as this psychotic lunatic. What's worse, she's made even the more psychotic, by the fact that she follows Raven and Dr. Stevie for a reason even she's not sure of.

The Beautiful People, while good, surely have lost a step since Angelina's departure. And with other gimmicks that don't completely stand out for the Knockouts, I have have resigned myself to stating that Daffney is the absolute best Knockout character right now in TNA.

I agree, she's the 1 tna knockout that stands out as doing the best character, Awesome Kong & BP do a hell of a job, but Daffney just stands out, shes got the look, shes got the skills.

Honestly I think they should put the Knockout Championship on her, and see how she gives it a run.

Daffney is the definitely up there as one of the best characters in the knockout division. She plays her character perfectly and always keeps me interested in her. However, I don’t think she has the best character. For me, the best character is the character of Awesome Kong.

She plays the character of a monster heel and she plays it to a T. She is everything a monster heel should be and more. She’s dominant, impressive, and she is a great worker. At times, Awesome Kong may not be seen as a monster heel because of the way she is booked, but when she is booked like a monster heel she does a great job.

Like I said, Daffney plays one of the best characters in the knockout division, and Alissa Flash does a pretty good job too, but I just think Awesome Kong does a better job.

i would have to agree with you entirely on this one Tenta. let's forget that she is grossly underappreciated for her in ring work, and simply focus on character development for the sake of your thread; which i think is what you are going for. with a very extensive womens' division, this is the one area of tna where they have seemed to put a great deal of emphasis on the ability "to go" in the ring, and certainly do one up the wwe. the beautiful people and awesome kong are really the only knockouts who have been given time to develop characters over the last few years, and to be honest, where can any of them go from here? awesome kong, is just that, awesome (in the ring)! everyone believes, with good reason, that she can beat the shit out of any woman on the roster. aside from that, what do you have? no character, no substance. TBP are a bunch of shallow, overbearing bitches who think they are better than everyone else....you can only take that so far. i will agree that some of the other Knockouts such as: Alissa Flash, Taylor Wilde, Sarita and Hamada are very good workers, and i thouroughly enjoy watching them wrestle, that's where it ends. If you would have told me in 1999 that the girl that accompanied David Flair and Devon Storm to the ring screaming her lungs out would have resurfaced into mainstream wrestling all these years later, and I found her to not only be a good wrestler, but an interesting character, I would have not believed it for a minute. But here we are, in 2009, and she is great! I absolutely see the connection to Harley Quinn, whether or not it is intentional, i'm not sure. But, if there is ever a young talent who's character could be developed similar to Raven circa 1995, she is the perfect woman to be at that guy's side.

Daffney ruined herself for me by proving she is 100% sane (at least in kayfabe) by doing the ONE THING that crazy people NEVER... EVERRRR... DO...

Claim she is insane.

She is 100% sane. Sorry, Daffney. Her gimmick is great and she plays it great. But she is just too sane.

I have followed Daphney's career from WCW, XPW, Indies, and now TNA. She is by far the best character. She is great on the mike, can go hardcore if need be, and even wrestles haggardly as if insane. As far as characters, she' got the whole package. Awesome Kong is great in the ring, but God forbid you put her on the mike. As mentioned in prior threads, TBP have lost total direction since Angelina left, and as far as the other KO's, they all character development...no one cares about them enough to be a true fan.

Now, the comparison to Harley Quinn is a great analogy for the character is basically a copy of Harley. Insane, check; loves a madman, check; is willing to sacrifice herself for that man, check; revels in harming others, check; screams and laughs uncontrollably, check...it's so a copy. But if anyone ever can pull it off it's her. Now I can't stop picturing Daphney in the Harley costume...

Yeah I really do see some Harley Quinn in her. Both are dark, insane, and very happy about it. And I also think she's the best in the woman's division because she's got the whole package. She's got the personality, the look, the in-ring ability. She's done some hardcore wrestling that not many women have done, and anyone who does hardcore wrestling to me gets mad respect.

As for the beautiful people, Angelina Love was the heart of that group. She was the one who did most of the talking and was the leader of sorts. Without her, it hasn't been the same. But if she was still with TNA, I would put her up there with their best. I hope they get her back soon.

Now I can't stop picturing Daphney in the Harley costume...

Thanks man now I have both classic and Arkham Harley/Daphney wrestling in my head over who loves Mr.J/Dr. Stevie more. Like I said thanks.

You guys are forgetting one my favorites ODB. I love the character and she plays it up perfectly. She is actually my second favorite on TNA following Daph of course.

If any of you are familiar with Batman TAS at all, she's not HQ at all.

Of all people to be Harley , it would be Dr. Stevie. He was the doctor sent out to treat the victims of criminal insanity in TNA and became twisted himself.

Her character would align properly with HQ, but not so much as far as where her story has come from.

I personally think Daffney is best as her scream queen gimmick and should've been left alone... that or give her the Shark Girl gimmick.

Anywho, I'm going to have to say that although she's very interesting, she's not my favorite Knockout. Personally, I think Sarita is the best all around. I mean her gimmick is to be a female luchador (spell check) and quite frankly she has the best moveset out of all the women in both TNA and WWE. I honestly don't get why TNA has her with Taylor Wilde. In my opinion, those two would work better as people who face each other than a tag team.

As far as best all-around character, then yes, Daffney is the best. Her mic time is short, but she gives off more of her character in 20 seconds then some people do in 3 minutes. She can take nasty bumps, and if they put her in a match, she's among the best wrestling women they have.

I love her work with Stevie, and can't wait to see how they add in Raven. The three of them can all play nutjobs well, and their small amount of work together since the latest return has been nothing short of amazing.

I love Daffney. She's by far the most entertaining and compelling Knockout in TNA, and she fits perfectly with Dr.Stevie and Raven. I was waiting for her to get rid of The Governor gimmick when she arrived in TNA, so she could get down to buisness.

I've been a fan of The Scream Queen since she was in WCW. Daffney's look and persona is something that's refreshing to see.
