Pre-Show Stalwart
Show begins with a replay of highlights from the CWI women's title bout on last week's Riot, then fades to the regular opening montage followed by a pyrotechnics display inside the FedEx Forum in Memphis as the camera pans down to Joey Styles and Jesse "The Body" Ventura at the broadcast table.

Styles: Last Thursday CWI commissioner Lou Thesz was compelled to lay down the law once again as Trish Stratus tried to end Wendi Richter's reign as CWI women's champion...tonight Richter and her opponent from last week, Japanese legend Lioness Asuka will square off in a rematch in which the ring will be surrounded by CWI security to prevent outside interference! I'm Joey Styles, and with me as always is my broadcast partner Jesse "The Body" Ventura....

Ventura: The women's bout won't be the only showdown between East and West tonight, Joey-- Stan "The Lariat" Hansen puts his CWI Far East title on the line against Jun Akiyama!

Styles: But we'll be starting tonight's show with Triple H going for his second win in CWI as he takes on "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff....

CUT TO: Anthony Chimel standing in the center of the ring.

Chimel: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! ("Welcome To Miami" starts playing over the FedEx Forum PA) Introducing first, accompanied by his manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, from Brandon, Florida and weighing in at 257 pounds, "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff!

Styles(off-camera): Mr. Wonderful getting a less-than-wonderful reception from the crowd here in Memphis...

Ventura(off-camera): They'll come around, Joey-- by the time this match is over, I'll bet even money they'll be giving him a standing ovation....

Chimel(as music segues to "It's All About The Game"): And his opponent, from Greenwich, Connecticut and weighing in at 247 pounds, Triple H!

Styles(as camera zooms on Triple H taunting Bobby Heenan): The Game getting in Heenan's face and loving every minute of it...(camera pans to Orndorff jumping Trips the moment he steps in the ring)....and Orndorff already going on the attack as the match gets underway!

Ventura(off-camera): Can you blame him, Styles? Helmsley was calling the Brain every insulting name he could think of...I heard him say "Weasel" at least twice!

Styles(off-camera): Orndorff with a backdrop from the second rope, and the Game in trouble early on!

Ventura(off-camera): You've got to hand it to Paul, he doesn't waste opportunities when they come his way...

Styles(off-camera): Orndorff going for the Irish whip on Triple H--the Game reverses it and catches Orndorff with a thunderous clothesline!

Ventura(as camera pans to a worried Bobby Heenan at ringside): The Brain startin' to look a little nervous about the way this bout is going...

Styles(off-camera): So's Orndorff, it looks like...powerslam!

To be continued

Picking up from my first post...

Ventura(off-camera): The Game's obviously riding high on the momentum from his big win over Nikita Koloff two weeks ago!

Styles(off-camera): Triple H starting to go for an elbow drop...now Heenan's up on the ring apron! He's risking a DQ for his man Orndorff....

Ventura(off-camera): And a suspension for himself-- we all know what happened when Nunzio's FBI buddies got involved in that triple threat cruiserweight title match at Grand Opening!

Styles(as camera cuts to Triple H punching Heenan's lights out): Looks like Hunter didn't want to wait for Commissioner Thesz to do something about it...the Brain goes tumbling out on to the arena floor! (Camera pans to Orndorff kicking Trips in the stomach) But Orndorff catches Triple H off-guard! We could be just moments away from seeing a piledriver!

Ventura(off-camera): If he hits it, it's goodnight, Game!

Styles(off-camera): Orndorff going for the piledriver--OH MY GOD! Triple H just countered it into a Pedigree! The cover--1...2...3! And the Game's CWI record now stands at 2-0!

Chimel(as camera pans to a dazed Heenan staggering to the timekeeper's table): Your winner by pinfall, Triple H!

Styles(off-camera): Offhand, Jess, I'd say Triple H's stock in CWI just went up a few points...if he keeps this up he could work himself into contention for the CWI world heavyweight title....

Ventura(off-camera): We'll see, Joey...right now, let's go to Michael Cole, who's standing by with the reigning CWI Far East champion, Stan Hansen!

FADE TO: Michael Cole standing to Stan Hansen's left in Hansen's dressing room.

Cole: Stan, tonight you'll be defending your CWI Far East championship against Jun Akiyama, a three-time All-Japan tag team champion and possessor of a devastating Northern Lights suplex....

Hansen(irritated): That don't mean squat to me! Far as I'm concerned, he's just another punk lookin' to get squashed! Now get out of my way! (shoves Cole aside and storms off-camera)

Cole(turning to camera): Well, uh...let's return to the ring for our next bout.

FADE TO: Chimel in the ring.

Styles(off-camera): Well, that was a short interview...

Chimel: The following contest is a tag team match scheduld for one fall! ("This Is A Test" starts playing over the FedEx Forum PA) Introducing first, at a total combined weight of 513 pounds, the team of Test and "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin!

Ventura(off-camera): The smart money says Jericho's mystery partner will be Ox Baker or Boris Malenko.

Styles(off-camera): Tully Blanchard was seen backstage with Jericho earlier...maybe he's the mystery partner.

Chimel(as music switches to "Bad To The Bone"): And their opponents...introducing first, accompanied to the ring by "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart, from Seattle, Washington and weighing in at 243 pounds, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine!

Ventura(off-camera): Looks like we were both wrong, Joey...

Styles(off-camera): Valentine and Garvin had some brutal battles during Garvin's days in WWE...

Chimel(as music switches to "Break The Walls Down"): His partner, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, weighing in at 236 pounds, Chris Jericho!

Styles(off-camera): Can a no-nonsense guy like the Hammer co-exist with a showboat like Jericho?!

Ventura(off-camera): They look like they're gettin' along fine right now...(camera zooms in on Jimmy Hart exchanging cross words with Test)Looks like we've got some pre-match gamesmanship from the Mouth goin' on....

Fade to commercial.

We return to commercial to see Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Test warily circling each other just to the right of the center of the ring.

Styles(off-camera): Tag match now officially underway, and Test and the Hammer starting things off...Valentine trying to knock Test off-balance with some forearm shots, but they don't seem to be having much effect.

Ventura(off-camera): Questionable tactics on the Hammer's part...he oughta be concentrating on Test's legs, since that's where the big guy's most vulnerable.

Styles(off-camera): Test whips Valentine into the ropes...spinning heel kick! (Camera cuts to Jimmy Hart berating the referee through his megaphone) Jimmy Hart voicing his displeasure rather loudly about the way this bout is being called...now there's an elbow drop by Test!

Ventura(off-camera): Greg needs to get over to his corner and tag in Jericho quick, otherwise the outcome of this tag match could be a foregone conclusion...

Styles(off-camera): Test started to go for a side suplex on Valentine, but Jimmy Hart distracted him by making smart-aleck comments through that stupid megaphone...now the Hammer makes his escape and tags to Y2J!

Ventura(off-camera): Lucky break for Valentine! And a nice psych-out job by Hart!

Styles(off-camera): Jericho with a boot to Test's midsection...and there's a couple of sharp kicks to the quads on Test's right leg!

Ventura(off-camera): Too soon to apply the Walls of Jericho, but it definitely shows tactical smarts on Y2J's part! This could be the turning point in the match...

Styles(off-camera): Test trying to make it over to his corner to tag in Ronnie Garvin, but Jericho has him trapped in a neutral corner...there's a thumb to the eye by the former WWE hardcore champion! Jericho's been thrown off his stride-- and there's the tag to Garvin! "Hands of Stone" living up to his nickname, firing some stinging punches at Jericho!

Ventura(as camera pans to Valentine bawling out the ref from his and Jericho's corner): Hammer's lookin' pretty upset right now, and I don't blame him-- this match has gone sour for his team in the blink of an eye.

Styles(off-camera): Garvin Irish whips Jericho into the ropes...and a near-perfect dropkick by the former NWA world champion!

Ventura(off-camera): This must feel like a bad case of deja vu for Valentine-- he came out on the losing end of that "Fathers & Sons" tag team match at Grand Opening....

Styles(off-camera): Test back in the ring now, setting Jericho up for the pumphandle slam....and he connects! The cover--1...2...3! And Jericho comes out on the short end of the stick in his CWI debut!

Chimel(as camera pans to a dazed Jericho sprawled in the center of the ring and "Jump Around" starts blasting from the FedEx Forum PA): Your winners by pinfall, the team of "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin and Test!

Styles(off-camera): Coming up in just a few minutes, Carlito makes his CWI debut against Barry Windham, but first we'll go live to the broadcast studios at CWI Corporate Headquarters, where Mike Tenay is standing by with reigning CWI world heavyweight champion Dave Batista!

CUT TO: A blue-carpeted studio interior inside CWI Corporate Headquarters; we see Mike Tenay sitting in a leather chair directly facing Dave Batista. On the wall behind them hangs a poster for CWI Conflagration.

Tenay: Last week, JBL, your scheduled opponent in the main event at Conflagration, guaranteed he would defeat you and become the new CWI world heavyweight champion....your response?

Batista(eyebrow arched): He's kidding, right? He barely managed to survive that ladder match against Buddy Rogers at Grand Opening.

Tenay: So far, Dave, you've compiled an impressive record in CWI--first winning the "crazy eights" match at Grand Opening to become CWI's first world champion, then beating Bam Bam Bigelow in your first title defense. Feel any pressure going into the main event at Conflagration?

Batista: Not at all...if anything, the pressure's on JBL. I feel good about this match, and with the fans at the Staples Center backing me up I should be able to take care of him before he knows what hit him.

Tenay: One last question....there are rumors that JBL may try to bring his Cabinet to Los Angeles to tip the match against you. Have you got a plan to counteract that interference?

Batista: That's for me to know...and JBL to find out the hard way.

Tenay(turning to face the camera): That wraps it up from here...now we'll send you back to the FedEx Forum in Memphis!

FADE TO: Howard Finkel standing in the center of the ring.

Finkel:The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the CWI women's championship!(Fushigi Yūgi main theme starts playing over the FedEx Forum PA) Introducing first the challenger....from Hasuda, Japan and weighing in at 171 pounds, Lioness Asuka!

Ventura(as camera pans to shot of CWI security officials stepping aside to let Asuka into the ring): Commissioner Lou Thesz running a tight ship here in Memphis tonight....

Styles(off-camera): Considering what happened last week, Jesse, you could hardly expect him to do otherwise...

Finkel(as camera switches to Miami Vice theme): Her opponent....from Dallas, Texas, weighing in at 134 pounds, the CWI women's champion, Wendi Richter!

Styles(off-camera): The reigning CWI women's champion looking ready for battle as the bell sounds to start her rematch against Japanese legend Lioness Asuka! Wrist lock by Richter to start things off, and Asuka trying to fight her way to the ropes to break the hold...

Ventura(off-camera): We'll know soon enough whether Lioness has learned from her mistakes in last week's match!

Styles(off-camera): Looks like she did...she makes it to the ropes and Richter has to break the hold--standing dropkick by the challenger!

Ventura(off-camera): Hey, Styles, what's Japanese for "ouch"?

Styles(off-camera): Couldn't tell you, Jesse...Irish whip by Asuka into the ropes, and the challenger catches Richter with a lethal forearm shot to the face!

Ventura(off-camera): If she can keep this up, we could see our second title change since Grand Opening!

Styles(off-camera): Cover by Lioness--1...2...and the champ kicks out! Now it's Wendi's turn to deliver the Irish whip, and she catches the challenger with a kneelift! The champion dominating this match!

Ventura(off-camera): And then some....

Styles(off-camera): Richter setting Asuka up for the Widowmaker....and she connects! The cover--1...2...3! Richter retains the CWI women's title!

Finkel(as camera zooms in on the referee handing the title belt to Richter): Your winner by pinfall and still CWI women's champion, Wendi Richter!

Ventura(off-camera): Lioness gave it her best shot, but in the end Richter was just too tough to beat! Comin' up soon, Tommy Rich goes one-on-one with Eric Embry, but right now we're sendin' you over to Tony Schiavone, who's standin' by with the cool Caribbean, Carlito!

CUT TO: Tony Schiavone and Carlito standing in one of the FedEx Forum locker rooms.

Schiavone: Before we begin our interview, I have some late-breaking news concerning the CWI Far East title match that was scheduled to take place between Stan Hansen and Jun Akiyama later tonight...apparently Akiyama has suffered an arm injury while going through one of his prematch works and so will not be able to participate in the bout--CWI officials are scrambling to find a substitute opponent for Hansen.(turns to Carlito)Now, turning to your match against Barry Windham, are you at all nervous about facing a charter member of the Four Horsemen?

Carlito(smirking): Horse's rear ends, you mean...There's no way Windham can beat me. He's not cool enough.

Schiavone: There's some talk backstage that you might be considering a challenge to the CWI Lucha Libre title currently defended by El Santo...true or false?

Carlito: Hey, when I'm ready to go for the Lucha Libre title, you're gonna hear about it straight from me, comprende? (Spits a mouthful of apple into a wastebasket behind Schiavone) Now be cool. (Walks off-camera)

Schiavone(turning to face camera): That does it for this interview with Carlito...now we'll take you back to the ring for Tommy Rich vs. Eric Embry!

FADE TO: Anthony Chimel standing just to the right of the center of the ring.

Chimel: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! (Neil Diamond's "Kentucky Woman" starts playing over the FedEx Forum PA) Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by his manager Percy Pringle, from Lexington, Kentucky and weighing in at 238 pounds, Eric Embry!

Styles(off-camera): Embry famous for his long-running wars with Skandor Akbar's army in World Class....

Ventura(off-camera): War is exactly the right word, Joey--a lot of blood was spilled in those matches, and not of all it was in the ring!

Chimel(as music switches to Arrested Development's "Tennessee"): And his opponent....from Hendersonville, Tennessee, weighing at 256 pounds, "Wildfire" Tommy Rich!

Styles(off-camera): Rich's longtime archnemesis, Buzz Sawyer, is set to challenge Sabu for the CWI Extreme title at Conflagration on July 24th...

Ventura(off-camera): If Rich wins tonight it could put him into contention for the Extreme title...can you imagine the crowd we'd get for a title match with Sawyer as the CWI Extreme champion and Rich as the challenger?

Styles(off-camera): It would be huge....and Eric Embry starts the match off with a snap suplex on Rich!

Ventura(as camera cuts to shot of Percy Pringle shouting encouragement to Embry): Pringle likin' what he sees so far in this match...

Styles(off-camera): Back-to-back elbow drops by Embry, and Rich seems to be a little off his game tonight--Embry missing with a clothesline, and now Rich gets him with a flying dropkick!

Ventura(off-camera): Talk about pulling a rabbit out of a hat...

Styles(off-camera): Scoop slam by Rich, and the former NWA world heavyweight champion on fire now! Irish whip on Embry, and a beautiful armdrag takedown! Pringle looking worried as Rich tries to apply the grapevine on Embry....

To be continued

ZOOM IN on the curtain leading to the backstage area as Snoop Dogg's "Murder Was The Case" starts booming out from the FedEx Forum and Justin Credible steps out to a torrent of boos.

Styles(off-camera, irate): How the hell did he get past arena security?!!

Ventura(off-camera): Maybe he's just scouting...

Styles(as camera pans to Justin getting ready to address the crowd on a wireless mic): I don't think so, Jesse-- I think he's looking to screw over Tommy Rich!

Justin: Rich, you bleached-blond (bleep)head, I just have one thing to say to you...you got lucky two weeks ago! If you hadn't drawn that biased ref, we both know I would've clobbered you!

Ventura(off-camera): Rich letting go of his grapevine hold on Embry....this could come back to bite him--he can't afford to get distracted if he wants to win this match.

Styles(off-camera): I think it might be a bit late for that, Jesse...the former NWA world champion coming out of the ring to confront Justin Credible--OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! Buzz Sawyer attacking him from behind! I was right all along! This was a set-up!

Ventura(off-camera): I figured Buzz and Tommy would be mixing it up in CWI, but not this soon!

Styles(off-camera): Rich caught in a 2-on-1 assault...Eric Embry coming in to make the save! Percy Pringle going at it with Justin's manager Jason in the stands! Folks, we've got a classic Pier 6 brawl in our midst here...we're going to have to take a short break here while things settle down, but we'll be back shortly with Carlito vs. Barry Windham!

FADE TO: 60-second spot for Conflagration.

As we come back from commercial we see Joey Styles and Jesse "The Body" Ventura back at the broadcast table.

Styles: My broadcast partner here has said that CWI is unpredictable, and never has that been more true than here tonight in Memphis!

Ventura: This could put a whole new spin on Buzz Sawyer's scheduled match against Sabu at Conflagration...and I wouldn't want to be in Justin Credible's shoes when Commissioner Lou Thesz replays the tapes of tonight's show!

Styles: We can definitely expect the commissioner to bring the hammer down hard on the former ECW world champion....but right now, let's send you up to the ring for the start of our next match!

CUT TO: Lillian Garcia standing in the center of the ring.

Garcia: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! (Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein" blasts from the FedEx Forum PA) Introducing first...accompanied to the ring by his manager J.J. Dillon, from Sweetwater, Texas and weighing in at 269 pounds, Barry Windham!

Styles(off-camera): Windham being touted as a possible future contender to the CWI United States title...the first holder for that championship will be crowned in eleven days at Conflagration...

Garcia(as music switches to "Cool"): And his opponent....from San Truce, Puerto Rico, weighing in at 217 pounds, Carlito!

Ventura(off-camera): By the look on his face Carlito's not takin' this match too seriously, and that could be a big mistake when you're facing somebody as tough as Windham...

Styles(off-camera): Looks like you spoke too soon--Carlito going after Windham like a mad dog, and Dillon just managing to get out of dodge in the nick of time! A flurry of roundhouse rights by the former WWE Intercontinental and US champion, and Windham in major trouble already!

Ventura(off-camera): I have to agree with you, Joey--Windham's got that deer-in-the-headlights look in his eyes!

Styles(as camera cuts to a horrified J.J. Dillon looking on from outside the ring): Dillon not happy with the way things are going for his protege....and there's the DDT by Carlito on Windham! This match could be over any second!

Ventura(off-camera): Carlito firing on all cylinders!

Styles(off-camera): Carlito setting Windham up for the Overdrive...and Windham's down! The cover--1...2...3! And Carlito gets the win in his CWI debut!

Garcia(as camera cuts to J.J. Dillon jawing with the referee): Your winner by pinfall, Carlito!

Styles(off-camera):I think it's safe to say we haven't heard the last of this feud....Folks, coming up in just a few minutes, Haystacks Calhoun faces Yokozuna in a rematch from Grand Opening, but first let's go to Jonathan Coachman, who's got the latest word concerning tonight's Far East title match!

CUT TO: Jonathan Coachman standing in a hallway outside the FedEx Forum's main security office.

Coach: Good news, Joey...CWI officials have found a substitute opponent to face Stan Hansen, and while they're keeping the challenger's identity a secret for now, they have confirmed it will be somebody who's involved in the undercard for Conflagration. Now back to you and the Body at ringside.

FADE TO: Chimel standing just to the left of the center of the ring.

Chimel(as "Sumo" starts playing over the FedEx Forum PA): The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is a rematch from Grand Opening! Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by his manager Mr. Fuji, from Japan and weighing in at 604 pounds, Yokozuna!

Ventura(off-camera): Hey, Joey, who do you think Hansen's challenger is?

Styles(off-camera): Well, we know it's not Batista or JBL...they're both scheduled to battle for the CWI world heavyweight title...

Chimel(as music segues into the University of Arkansas fight song): And his opponent, from Morgan's Corner, Arkansas and weighing in at 612 pounds, Haystacks Morgan!

Ventura(off-camera): I hope the FedEx Forum has earthquake insurance, Joey...we'll need it before this match is over!

Styles(off-camera): Mr. Fuji understandably reluctant to get too close to the ring as his man Yokozuna gets ready to lock up with Haystacks Calhoun...and Calhoun and Yoko eyeballing each other as the bell rings to start the match!

To be continued

Continuing from my last post...

Styles(off-camera): Haystacks starting off with some forearm shots at Yoko...and Yoko counters with a kick to the midsection!

Ventura(off-camera): This ain't the kind of match you wanna watch if you're into technical style or flashy off-the-top-rope manuvers....these two are just straightforward bruisers throwin' their weight around.

Styles(off-camera): Maybe not--belly-to-belly suplex by Haystacks catches Yoko off-guard!

Ventura(off-camera): Did you hear the way the ring shook when he executed that move? I'll bet they felt it all the way in Nashville!

Styles(off-camera): I bet they felt it all the way in Antarctica...nice Irish whip by Haystacks on Yoko, and he catches the former WWE champion with a clothesline!

Ventura(off-camera): Fuji in a dilemma here...he doesn't want to see his guy lose, but he knows that if he gets directly involved in this match Commissioner Thesz will come down hard on him!

Styles(off-camera): Speaking of coming down hard, Haystacks just planted a beauty of an elbow drop on Yoko, and we could be just a few moments away from seeing the Arkansas native's trademark splash!

Ventura(off-camera): I just hope the ring can withstand the pressure....

Styles(off-camera): Haystacks off the ropes....he's going airborne...NOBODY HOME! NOBODY HOME! Yoko somehow escapes at the last second!

Ventura(as camera pans to a happy Mr. Fuji outside the ring): Fuji likin' that a lot!

Styles(off-camera): Yoko hits Haystacks with the Banzai Drop! The cover--1...2...3! And Yokozuna comes away with the victory!

Garcia(as camera pulls back to show Yoko bowing to Mr. Fuji): Your winner by pinfall, Yokozuna!

Ventura(off-camera): A sensational win by the former sumo legend...now let's go to Lance Russell, who's standin' by with Torrie Wilson and Madusa Miceli.

CUT TO: Lance Russell standing outside Torrie and Madusa's dressing room.

Russell: Madusa, tonight you and Torrie will be locking up with Jeannie Clark and Midajah O'Hearn in a grudge match stemming from from Midajah and Clark's ambush of Torrie two weeks ago...What prompted you to join forces with one of WWE's most popular divas?

Madusa: That **** Midajah and her trained monkey Scott Steiner once tried to run me out of WCW...and as for Clark, she's been talking (bleep) about me to the promoters to sabotage my efforts to get a CWI women's title shot. When I saw them trying to jump Torrie, it was a perfect chance to kill two birds with one stone.

Torrie: Midajah is straight-up trash...the sooner she's tossed out of CWI, the better!

Russell(turning to face the camera): And on that note, we'll send you back to ringside!

FADE TO: Dave Penzer standing in the center of the ring.

Penzer: The following contest is a tag team grudge match scheduled for one fall! ("Hot Legs" starts blaring from the FedEx Forum PA) Introducing first, at a total combined weight of 341 pounds, accompanied to the ring by Scott Steiner, the team of Midajah O'Hearn and Jeannie Clark!

Ventura(off-camera): The fans really letting Clark have it as she's comin' out to the ring...(camera pans to Scott Steiner arguing with a ringside fan in a Madusa T-shirt) And Steiner's letting that guy in the front row have it too.

Styles(off-camera): They'd better save something for the ring, Jesse...based on Madusa's comments in that interview, they're going to be in for all-out war!

Penzer(as music switches to Black Eyed Peas' "Holiday(Labor Day)": And their opponents...accompanied to the ring by 'Gentleman' Chris Adams, at a total combined weight of 336 pounds, the team of Madusa Miceli and Torrie Wil--

Ventura(off-camera, amazed): They're not even waiting for Penzer to finish their introduction!

Styles(off-camera): Torrie and Clark going at it a neutral corner! Madusa and Midajah trying to choke each other out in the middle of the ring! Scott Steiner and Chris Adams brawling over by the timekeeper's table!

Ventura(off-camera): We don't need referees for this match, we need a riot squad!

Styles(off-camera): Torrie throwing Jeannie Clark out on the arena floor, and Clark and Midajah are paying big-time for their June 29th ambush on the WWE beauty!

Ventura(off-camera): This must bring back some memories, huh, Joey? I hear the ECW gals used to go at it like this almost every week....

Styles(off-camera): You heard right--Torrie and Madusa with a double power bomb on Midajah! The cover--1...2...3! And Madusa and Torrie making short work of this bout!

Penzer(as camera cuts to Adams and Steiner slugging it out in the aisle): Your winners by pinfall, the team of Torrie Wilson and Madusa Miceli!

CUT TO: Styles and Ventura back at the broadcast table.

Styles: Coming up next, Stan Hansen and his mystery challenger square off for the CWI Far East title!

Ventura: And a preview of next week's Riot!

Fade to commercial.

As we come back from commercial we see Anthony Chimel standing just to the right of the center of the ring.

Chimel: The following main event, scheduled for one fall, is for the CWI Far East championship! ("Bad Company" starts playing over the FedEx Forum PA) Introducing first, from Borger, Texas, weighing in at 318 pounds, he is the CWI Far East champion, Stan "The Lariat" Hansen!

Ventura(off-camera): You could cut the tension with a knife right now, Styles--everybody in this arena's just itchin' to find out who Hansen's opponent will be!

Styles(off-camera): Hansen originally won the title by defeating Jumbo Tsuruta in a submission match at Grand Opening...he was originally scheduled to defend the title tonight against Jun Akiyama, but as you may have already heard Akiyama was forced to pull out of the match due to an arm injury sustained in a pre-match workout.

Chimel: And his opponent...("Pomp and Circumstance" begins booming over the PA)....accompanied to the ring by his manager Elizabeth, from Sarasota, Florida and weighing in at 248 pounds, "Macho Man" Randy Savage!

Ventura(off-camera): WHOA! Looks like the Macho Man couldn't wait for Conflagration to make his start in CWI!

Styles(off-camera): Savage was previously set to make his debut against Mad Dog Vachon in eleven days, but his launch has been moved up to tonight as he faces Stan Hansen for the CWI Far East belt--and Hansen going on the attack in the opening seconds of this match!

Ventura(off-camera): Hansen's always had a massive killer instinct...

Styles(off-camera): Powerslam by Hansen on the challenger, and the Macho Man in serious trouble early on!

Ventura(off-camera): Savage needs to go after Hansen's knees; knock his pins out from under him and the champion won't be able to use his power moves or his Brazos Valley backbreaker submission move...

Styles(off-camera): Hansen going for the Irish whip on Savage...Savage reverses it and nails the Far East champion with a flying tackle! The cover--1...2...and Hansen kicks out!

Ventura(off-camera): Macho Man went for the pin too early! He needed to work the champion over a little more before trying to make the cover....

Styles(off-camera): Savage with a legdrop on Hansen, and the Lariat probably wishing that he were facing Jun Akiyama after all...(Camera cuts to Elizabeth outside the ring) Miss Elizabeth on the edge of her seat, like just about everyone else here at the FedEx Forum and you watching this match at home!

Ventura(off-camera): Macho Man better not get too ****y--Hansen's been in spots like this before and bounced back to win! Don't forget about when he beat Rick Martel for the AWA world title back in '85 at the Meadowlands...

Styles(off-camera): Hansen back in control of this match, pounding Savage with some bone-rattling punches in the corner! An Irish whip into the turnbuckle on the far side of the ring, Hansen going for the splash....NOBODY HOME!!

Ventura(off-camera): A mistake by the Lariat, one that might even cost him the match!

Styles(off-camera): Savage with a bulldog on Hansen, and now the challenger heading to the top turnbuckle to attempt his patented flying elbowsmash!

Ventura(off-camera): If I were Mad Dog Vachon, I'd be watching this match real close!

Styles(off-camera): Savage going airborne...and he hits Hansen with the elbow smash! The cover--1....2....3! And we've got a new CWI Far East champion!

Chimel(as camera pans to Savage showing the CWI Far East belt to the crowd): Your winner by pinfall, and the new CWI Far East champion, "Macho Man" Randy Savage!

Styles(off-camera): A historic finish to a wild night here at the FedEx Forum in Memphis....Next week, in our final Riot before Conflagration, we'll be coming to you from the US Airways Center in Phoenix! Among the matches you'll see next Thursday: the Legion of Doom takes on the Alaskans, Ken Shamrock battles Baron von Rashcke, and "Bullet" Bob Armstrong challenges Koji Kanemoto for the CWI cruiserweight title!

Ventura(off-camera): And in our awesome main event, Bill Goldberg makes his CWI debut, taking on the colossal Big John Studd!

Styles(off-camera): For Jesse Ventura and the rest of the CWI broadcast crew, this is Joey Styles saying good night from Memphis!

Cut to close-up of Savage heading back to his dressing room as Riot goes off the air.
