could WWE be "phenominal"

AJ styles? this is a totally hypothetical but it's something i've always wondered. i noticed there seemed to be something different about christian when he returned to WWE i don't know if it was the ring. his return to mid card status or whatnot, but there always seems to be a change when a wrestler jumps ships form one brand to the the other.

now to my question. what if AJ styles was offered a contract and he accepted? what do u think he would be like? do u think they'd screw with his gimmick? do u think he;d still wrestle the same? how far do u think he'd go? would u like to c this?

there would be 2 possible ways for him to enter the WWE

-as a talent initiative. plain name like Andrew Johnson (AJ) he would'nt use the spiral tap anymore (one of my all time favorite moves) win a few good matches and make his way up in a Evan Bourne fashion. hell after a while they could actually give him a good name

or

-debut the same way R-truth did with vignettes, i don't know what kind of gimmick they'd give him i'd let u guys figure that one out

so what do u think? styles to the E? how would he debut? how would he be used in the WWE? your thoughts please gentlemen?

a surprise run in with his current tna gimmick. something to shock the iwc. won't happen, vince likes to own wrestlers names now.

it doesnt matter everything I have heard says AJ would NEVER go to WWE, I think he had a tryout once and didnt really like how it went or something to that extent

Vince tryed to sign AJ back before TNA was founded, and he turned them down to join TNA when it started up.

AJ IMO will always stay in TNA, him to TNA is like Cena to WWE.

However to stay on topic, if he did join WWE i think it would be a stroyline with somthing involving Christian.

to be honest it would be the worst thing for him to do they would water down IMO the greatest wrester of this dasy and age he would be put on ecw for ratings probably and rise to the ecw title at most vince would want to destroy him as AJ is tna!o and if im not mistaken vince has tried to sign AJ on 2 different occasions

if allowed aj styles could be the man in wwe but vince needs to let him wrestle and not water down his gimmick because he isnt wwe home grown talent, think of the wrestlemania classics he could put on with the right opponent, personally i think he should stay with tna like sting did with wcw and be that companys top draw and star like we he know he can be

AJ Styles will be another superstar to follow in the footsteps of the Great Sting. AJ is to TNA what Sting was to WCW. AJ would be stupid to go work for WWE.

Personally I agree with the majority here - AJ Styles will (probably) never go to the WWE. Like it has been said, he is TNA (arguably more than Jarrett and Angle). However, if by some miracle AJ did decide to jump ship, WWE would indeed water him down. They did it with Matt Sydal (Evan Bourne) and it would be case with AJ. He'd go through a name change and would no longer be known as 'The Phenominal' either. Basically, he would be a very talented mid carder that won't be pushed higher than that.

Now though, what if the character 'The Phenominal' AJ Styles made his debut in WWE. Same music, name, attire, move set - everything. I personally think a great first feud that would really get him over would be against Chris Jericho. Remember the Y2J countdown? What if you had an AJ countdown showing for seconds during each episode of SmackDown for a month or so (I'm not saying a literall carbon copy of the Y2J countdown but something similar in theme - like a video package which ends stating '4 weeks, 1 hour, 2 minutes, 10 seconds' for example). It could happen during a Jericho promo on one occasion and it could be like mind games with him, who could it be out to get him? Then AJ could make his debut during a Jericho match, distracting him enough to cost him the match. I know the resulting mic promo between the two wouldn't be as good as the Rock and Jericho 10 years ago, but I think it would still get over. My opinion is that although this has been done before, using something that you know works and updating it for the new generation will only help the company.

Thoughts?

Do you remember the whole Braden Walker fiasco that happened with Chris Harris a couple of years back. The same thing will happen to A.J. if he would jump to the WWE. The fact of the matter is that Vince McMahon like to own the gimmick so A.J. wouldn't be able to come in as A.J. Styles unless he'S willing give away the right to the name which would be stupid. The other thing that goes against him is that outside of people watching TNA, nobody really knows who A.J. is so he would probably get put on ECW in the new talent initiative which for most people involve in this program mean you better perform great the first time around because you will be job out and fired if your not able to perform.

A.J. is a great wrestler and a great talent and the best thing for him to do is stay in TNA until the company fold.

Ok everyone its spelled "Phenomenal" not "phenominal".

Back to topic, I think AJ would be a heel claiming that he is more phenomenal than every superstar on the roster. As for the way he would debut i think he could have promos hyping up his debut.
