Correct The Award: PWI Woman Of The Year

The Brain

King Of The Ring
I’m not sure how much discussion this one will trigger, but it’s time to talk about the woman of the year. It probably won’t bring as many responses simply because this award hasn’t been around very long. It only goes back to 1999. Take a look and tell me where the voters went wrong. This is up to your own interpretation. The woman of the year does not necessarily have to be a wrestler; just the woman who had the most impact on any given year.

I’ll disagree with the first one on the list. Where is Chyna on this list? She was the dominant female in the WWF for years and probably more so in 1999 than any other year. She was in the Royal Rumble. She was in the King of the Ring. She even won the Intercontinental Title. No woman can ever match that kind of year. Debra had a pretty ordinary year where here biggest contribution was being the first one who the puppies comment was directed at. Chyna is not even a runner up. This might be the most obviously wrong award in the whole series so far.

Yeah Chyna should have won it that year imean she went against the men like it was nothing and she had a very good fued with Jericho over the IC title and i mite be wrong but did she beat Jeff Jarrett 4 it first please correct me if i'm wrong. But yes Chyna should be on this list hell Dixie Carter is on it.

Yep, I definitely agree with you on replacing Debra with Chyna in 1999 for the exact same reasons.

I'm gonna also say that Beth Phoenix should have replaced Candice Michelle in 2007. I'll give some love to Candice cause she had really come out of her shell during that year, but during the latter half of 2007, Beth was just way too dominant to reconsider putting her up as PWI Woman Of The Year that year. She had won the Women's Championship and if I remember, she had also been undefeated for quite a while during 2007 and that streak continued into the next year as well.

I'm going to say 2006. While I love Trish, and I feel that she's definitely one of the greatest female wrestlers EVER, this year belonged to Lita.

Lita was a despised heel whether it be in the ring or out of it. She played a key role in Edge's character getting over with the crowd. Only Vickie Guerrero (Who Should be on the 2008 List, Especially if Dixie Carter is on the 2006 list) has ever helped Edge get THAT much heat. She was the most hated female heel since Ivory (and she was hated for being a part of the RTC).

She also had not one but two title reigns that year having won the Women's Championship on two separate occasions. She would retire in 2006 of that year for a few reasons. Lita was undoubtedly the best at what she did in 2006.

2007 has to go to Gail Kim, she literally pionereed the enire KO division that year. Even though it was the last three moths, she CREATED and INOVATED an entire division. Candice won 1 Championship, defended maybe three times, lost it 4 months later. Gail won a championship and had one of the best fueds in TNA History with Awesome Kong.

2005 going to Trish is sort of a joke, she was out for about 6 months, which is rediculous. That honor should have gone to Victoria who carried Ashley Massaro to half way decent matches, or Mickie James who started one of the most creative and fan-crazed storylines of this decade. So either one of them should have got it, not Trish.

Lita should have won it in 2005 and 2006 I'm so sick of Trish getting everything she sucks and the day she retired I was so happy. Lita was the best diva in the wwe in 2005 and 2006 so she deserved it in 2005 and 2006 if not her Mickie James in 2006 because she really improved. Just not stupid Trish.

Well you know they were going to give it to Trish in 2005 because they are so high up on Trish which I don't know why because she really sucks.
