Computer Issue

Mr. TM

Throwing a tantrum
I was on my computer and it froze up so I hit the old ctrl alt delete. Then for some reason it restarted itself. Now when it starts back up it asks me how I want to restart. When I hit normal mode it freezes up and restarts after the windows xp load screen.

Any one know the problem?

I don't know the problem, but I do know if you CTRL+ALT+DEL twice, it'll restart the computer...

Try selecting Safe mode when it asks how do you want to restart TM, and when it comes up, restart it normally and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't something in Windows may have corrupted and need some repair to the OS done

We apologize for the inconvience, but windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.

If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut Dow to protect your files and folders, choose last known good configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked.

If previos startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the power or restart button was pressed, or if you aren't sure of the what caused the problem, chhise start windows normally.

Safe mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with command prompt
Last known good configuration
Start windows normally

I hit safemode and a list of files comes up. Then it seems to freeze, and finally restarts itself

Just straight Safe Mode will be fine, like I said try that, and if it comes up so you can login or gets to your desktop, restart it from the start menu and it should work again, if not you got other issues.

Ah ok, in that case something became corrupt on the Windows Install, or there is an error on the disk. either way you'll need a Windows XP CD in order to do any sort of repair.

alright, I did a system recovery, and it told me it was putting all my files into one folder, and reinstalling my operating system.

Then when it finished it restarted. Now when it tries to load back on, a screen coems up and says something like NTLDR is compressed and to restart using ctrl alt dlt. also gives me two other options that do not seem to work.

Whoever can help me, I will be forever in your debt and give you reps for as long as I can on this forum.

Try restarting it normally. I did it to mine, and every once in a while, it messes up, but just press the power button and everything should be cool.

I can probably help you, as long as you're willing to completely wipe everything off your hard drive...

Yeah, this happened to me last year, and I had to delete everything on my computer to get it to work again.

XP Media Center Edition 2005 Operating System Disc

That is what it says, I am not sure if it is just the recovery disc or both. Cannot check, as I am at work.
