Coincidence? Up to which point?

I'm sure that it has occurred to most of us that something completely strange happens and we are not sure about how it got be.

But the problem is sometimes there are little signs or clues that seem to have some connection to the case. Some times they're real, sometimes made up.

My question is about the reaction people give. Some call it coincidence because they're not scientific evidence, some call it a reality and live with it.

When such things happen, which side do you take? How often do you believe these signs to be coincidence?

What does it take for you to think of something as a real relation or connection and not just a coincidence?
